McDills is a great pub in Collinsville. The menu consist of Irish style items and American. I love the wings and the chips as my meal. My favorite part of McDills is the beer menu. They have tons of beers on draft which is typically what my husband and I are looking for when we want a quick bite out. The restaurant is pretty large with a large parking lot so no issues with parking or getting a table. Service at the bar is always quick and the bartender may even make you a special spot. Went to a local favorite, McDill's. It was a very busy and loud Friday night. Besides not getting to hear the conversation (there were 6 of us) the service was excellent and our food was good. The Irish burger and the Burnt Ends were both delish. Most of their food is fried fare but there were wraps and salads available. My husband ordered an Apple pie Caramel dessert which was not good. Tasteless. The waitress said they brought them in, the other choices were all cheesecakes. It's a shame because the best bakery in the metro, Kruta's, is straight across the street! read more

I really want to love the new mcdills ...I've tried it a few times now and it's just fell short for me. Maybe I need to try going when we can sit outside? The service was just ok...we had to ask for silverware a few times and it took a while for her to come back around. We got the hot ham and cheese sandwich. Again it was just ok. Not a lot going on with it. Now the Gouda Mac and cheese bites are still as good as they have always been! Great Irish Pub, all five of us enjoyed our dinner here and talked about coming back with our friends or families. We had nice weather so the front patio was great to hang out on. The patio is dog friendly. The table service staff was very nice and polite. We had two ribeye steak sandwiches, the fried cod dinner, chicken wings and the fried green beans appetizer. The food was all really good! The draft beer was super cold and even the dark Guinness hit the spot on a hot day and I love a pub that makes a good half and half (black and tan). I think the place is relatively new, or at least updated, the parking lot has expanded since the last time I was there and the inside of the restaurant looked nice and was clean. So we used to go here pre re build and it was kind of a dump. A dump with good food, good service and a nice dive bar feel. NOW it is super nice and has a killer patio with the same good food and service! We went here randomly on the way home from a hike yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the new spot. I'll definitely be back! This place deserves higher ratings. Surprisingly, one of the highlights for me was their avocado ranch salad dressing--something I never thought I'd rave about at an Irish pub. It was fantastic! I'm already looking forward to summer so I can order a Cobb salad with it. During my visit, I had the Irish Burger, and it was an excellent choice. My friend ordered the Reuben, which I sampled, and now I know exactly what I'll be getting next time--it was delicious! We also tried the Reuben egg rolls, and those are a must-try as well. The food was DELICIOUS, the service was EXCEPTIONAL, and the space was really nice too! It's an alright place. I've been to their old location a couple times before they built their new building and opened last year. Truthfully, I liked it better at their old place but I understand it's likely that they used government money to build themselves a new place to shed off their "dive" image. But the new building is decent too. It's like everything is in one room, except the bathrooms and gambling rooms. They also have a small outdoor patio in front. 90s on 9 was blasting inside. Food was alright, like I said it had been awhile since I was at McDill's (before the pandemic) and thought I'd visit them again. Of course as expected, prices went up like everywhere else. I had the Black and Bleu Burger and fries, along with $1 wings. Burger was huge and filling, and had lots of blue cheese on it (which I prefer!). Fries were so-so. They were served on fancy plates. Was not blown away by the wings, as they were just average. I get it that chicken wings have gone up in price all over, but I felt the $1 was a ripoff for what I got. Sorry, just thought they were going to be huge! I'd probably return if I were with a friend or group. Was so excited to try the Re-opening of the Bew McDills. The New building is great..but the old one had charm as well. The wait was about 40 minutes so we ponied up to the Bar for drinks and Appetizers. If you love Whiskey/Bourbon this is your place!!! They have a great variety. The Mac n Cheese bites we very good. I couldn't wait to order The Irish Egg Rolls.. these are like Reuben Sandwiches rolled up and fried.. with Thousand Island for dipping. Very nice place! Lots of curb appeal with the stone facade and roofline giving the appearance of a building you might see at a ski resort or something. The servers here were very nice and attentive. They have 20 beers on tap - a bunch that I was a fan of, but ended up ordering my fave Blue Moon. I ordered the grilled buffalo chicken wrap with a side salad. The chicken on the wrap was moist and the overall flavor of the wrap was good. The side salad was an extra $2...was a bit disappointing since it was just iceberg lettuce with a couple toppings. Would be a nicer salad if they used romaine or spring mix lettuce. I was glad they had balsamic vinaigrette dressing though - was trying to order healthy. My aunt ordered the ribeye sandwich and raved about how tender the meat was. She also said the fries were perfect and didn't need anything on them. I saw another Yelper talking about mango shrimp tacos, but unfortunately, these weren't available. Best Reuben I think I've ever had! The corn beef was like smoked and it had so much flavor and the bread was a really fresh marble bread very very tasty. Service was great. The bartender Johnathon was very attentive, and you didn't have to wait long for a drink. The atmosphere was spot on and the open patio is a great addition. If you like a reuben, they have mastered that. They even have reuben eggrolls that are good. I had ordered a grilled ham n cheese on texas toast. This was a really cool place to hang out, especially on St. Patricks Day when they brought in Irish dancers and a (non-Irish-music) musician. They had a full bar and both indoor and outdoor seating. The gouda mac & cheese bites were delicious, and my friends said the rueben sandwich was great (and it was big enough for two to share). There were only a few problems. First, when the musician played, the music was so loud that we couldn't hear the server speak to us or hear each other; some sounds actually hurt the ears. I ordered water with my food and never got it (but they were REALLY busy, so that's forgiven this once). Most importantly, they don't have any entrees for vegetarians to eat. They had burgers, so I could have eaten lots of items if they kept a few frozen bean burgers around. As it is, I couldn't come back for a meal. So, if you're vegan, forget about it. First off, it's not an Irish pub. Not in any way. It's a sports bar. Loud, with lots of dart boards and a pool table in the middle of the dining room. Service was disjointed. Not terrible but not attentive. Bartender was also waiting tables on the busiest bar night of the year. That's a management mistake. Not fair to the bartender or the guests. Food wasn't even average in preparation, taste, or presentation. Salads/apps/entrees all came out within just a few minutes of each other so the table was cramped full of food getting cold. Finally was able to get into this place. They do a massive lunch and dinner business. They've only been open at their new location for about three or four weeks, but much if not all of the menu is the same. I have been hearing about the ribeye sandwich and had to give it a try. It was fairly good, but could've used just a touch more seasoning on the ribeye. I tried to eat healthy and chose a side salad rather than fries, but the side salad is really little. She got a grilled chicken sandwich which was pretty good (I always try hers, and vice versa). There's a lot more to this menu to try, so we will be back. We were served in a reasonable amount of time, but since they've expanded so much, they're still working out the kinks. I wish them the best! read more

This place got a new building. It is beautiful! The food has already been incredible. All of the house made smoked meat is amazing. The corned beef, smoked Turkey, and grilled chicken are our favorite meats. We always get the Irish egg rolls and pepper Jack Mac n cheese bites for an app. With the mushrooms as a good back up.
