Beautiful bar. Pool, Darts and Live music on most weekends. Unfortunately the staff is not "Trained" together. This results in a staff that "Does their own thing" And for me and a guest, this then resulted in over an HOUR and a HALF for two sandwiches!! 3 other tables that ordered AFTER us got their food 15-30 minutes BEFORE we got anything. Very understaffed and under-trained! Cooks run kitchen according to what each one feels like. They run staff "How THEY WANT". New owners with no experience in the industry, that hired friends and family instead of hiring an experienced "Bar & Restaurant, Kitchen Manager" to hire capable, experienced staff. If you want to play pool or listen to a band..Great. if you want a quality menu and food service...I'd go somewhere else. read more

I got a bad feeling when we walked in and there were only 7 people in the bar area 1 at the actual bar and 3 people playing darts. There's no sign saying to wait to be seated or seat yourself. We asked the bartender and he said to sit anywhere. We sat down and 15 minutes later he came over with menus and got our food order. 30 minutes he came by and said it would be coming out soon. 10 minutes later he came to tell us the order "didn't go back". He said there was a small party in the back. So 20 minutes later our food finally came out. My husband got the patty melt and tots and I had the pork tenderloin with "Irish chips". Hubby gave the patty melt 8 out of 10. Would have been 10 out of 10 if the bread had been actually grilled and not just lightly toasted the tots 9 out of 10. Crispy as they should be. And pretty tasty. The tenderloin was good I would say a 6 out of 10 the breading was not cooked all the way in spots and not really seasoned.. it was Like they cooked the chips or tots over the top of the tenderloin and they stuck to them. So glad I asked for mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion to flavor it up a bit. My "Irish Chips" were just chips not sure what was Irish about them. Standard house chips nothing miraculous so a 5 out of 10. So over all a 7 out of ten for the food. To go back to the "small party" in the back. We looked when we were leaving and it was 1 table with about 8 people. That IS a small party but not sure how that hindered us being taken care of better. Not sure if the guy was having a bad night or not, but was on his phone quite a bit. At the end of the meal he came over and asked if we needed anything else and we needed a box. He took care of a table next to us with their food and brought us a box. In most instances when someone requests a box it means they will be leaving soon and would need the check, right? We watched him at the bar what looked like texting on his phone and about 10 minutes later he brought us the check. Our meal from entry to leaving was 90 minutes long. The strawberry margarita on the rocks came out quickly, I'm not quite sure what the drink was, it certainly didn't taste anything like a margarita. The waitress said it is a strawberry syrup, I doubt there was tequila in it. Looking at the drink looked more yellowish tan the drink was horrible. Now on to the food. It took over an hour to get our food. Other's came in after we ordered and they were served within 10 - 15 minutes of arrival. Every time we inquired about our food, waitress said "sorry, it will be out soon". I think we asked about it 5 or so times. FINALLY, a little over an hour later we received our order. Wife & I tried Danny's for 1st time since moving to the area. We love a good authentic Irish Pub/Bar. Authentic it was not. Only a small percentage of their menu is actually Irish food. They had more Italian food than anything. No Shephard's pie. No Bangers and Mashers. The only corned beef was available on 2 different sandwiches. I had the Ruben and it was just God awful! The corned beef was dry, cracked and damn near no flavor. Also, it has so much dressing and sauerkraut on it, it made the bottom piece of bread soaking wet. Yuck! My wife tried an appetizer - breaded ravioli bites with marinara. Usually those are served with a golden crisp, but these were so over fried, they were dark brown. They couldn't even deep fry an appetizer correctly. We had high hopes for this place, but we will continue our quest to find a real, authentic Irish Pub! Almost forgot! The bartender, Claire, was eating when she waited on us. (we sat at the bar). Wife ordered a draft Blue Moon, and the bartender literally used the hand/fingers she was eating with to put the orange wedge into the pint glass. Absolutely disgusting! read more

First off our waitress Jenna was amazing Food was not, my lemon water was best thing I had. My mother-in-law really wanted to go because it was St. Patrick's Day. And you would think a Irish pub would have the best corned beef and cabbage No it came out cold and her plate had so much water on it from the cabbage. They didn't drain it, it was disgusting. I did not eat here when it was under the old ownership. First time visit with some friends. Classic Irish pub decor with dark wood and walls. One page menu of standard fare bar food. Food was just ok. Tots and fries were grease heavy but the pretzel was good. Disengaged server who was more interested in chatting with people at the bar. We had a hard time getting anyone's attention for meal needs or the check. I could not get past the sewage smell that hit us as soon as we sat down. Tough to eat in an environment that smells like, well, you know. Not recommended. read more

Went for the 1st time. They had advertised a breakfast brunch buffet saturday and sunday. We went about 11:45 on Sunday. The food was horrible. All of the food was cold. Not a great variety for 14.99 but most importantly the food quality was not good. Microwave biscuits no taste gravy rubbery chicken strips you couldn't even cut the cold waffle. Needless to say if you are looking for a hot quality breakfast brunch buffet do not go here. I do not recommend it at all. read more

The staff did an amazing job of tending to a very packed place. The food and atmosphere was amazing, felt kind of like being in an episode of Cheers. If you are looking for Irish fare on this side of the river, this might not be the place to go. I've lived here almost 20 years & just never got around to stopping in. Yesterday was the day... My sister was visiting from Nashville, TN, and we decided to check this place out. She raved about how much she liked shepherd's pie & couldn't wait to try one of theirs. I should have looked at their website menu before we went. While the ambiance of the place had an Irish look to it, & there were some Irish beers & drinks, the only thing on the menu that seemed Irish was the Reuben. It came with a LOT of meat, so that was great. It was very filling. The fries also were very good. It was just disappointing there was nothing truly Irish food-wise. read more

Have never been there and have lived here for a long time. Went with friends for the first time on New Years Eve. It was not my choice. Can't believe this place has not been closed down. The food was horrible. Maybe the worst I have ever had. Raw fish and greasy chips. The place smelled that there was a gas leak. Nothing Irish about the place and absolutely nothing good. Well tried it maybe 3 times in the past 4 years since moving back to the area. Really not impressed. They have bands as usual too loud but band sounded decent. Have ordered a meal twice both times served cold. First time was not even what me and a friend ordered and cold. Second time took forever to get food and was cold again but at least what we ordered. Overall service was poor and just not worth spending money here. Many other nearby choices. read more

I like Irish pubs a lot, probably because I'm a big kraut fan. so i got the Reuben and it was delicious, i was very pleased one of the best Rubens i have ever had, my wife got the burger and fries on the side, i had a bite of the burger it was good, but no Reuben!!! seriously that good!, the fries are crinkle cut and pretty good, we played poker here and had a really good time, not going to brag that i took 1st! but i did!! they host the Sick-donkey league here so i really enjoy this place overall getting good food and get to play poker, don't know if you've seen my profile but that's pretty much sums it up, ha. The atmosphere is always pretty nice and the bartenders are on top of whatever you need, they did have a band going with people dancing and such but it didn't get out of control or anything wreck less, just people having a good time! I will definitely go back here and if friends come into town take there here if we have time. read more

My husband and I have been here many times since moving back to the area. It is our "go to" place for a great hamburger for lunch. We meet friends for Friday night fish. Whenever I need to host an event or large get-together I always take advantage of the free banquet room. The banquet service is always set up very professional and the staff takes great care of my guests. I have never had a complaint or problem with any food or service. read more

Always wanted to stop and today we happened to be in the area. We went in and asked if they had a kitchen and were they serving today. Yes to both. We were told to sit anywhere so we picked a table close to the bar. We waited about 10 minutes and no one ever came by to ask what we wanted. I asked my wife is we were invisible just to be sure. I would have been happy with even someone yelling across the room with some sort of acknowledgment we were even there. I could understand if we had snuck in with a crowd and sat in the corner but since we were the only table with people I assumed someone would notice. A patron who came in after us walked by and mentioned it would get busy later because of the band. Pretty sad when the only one who notices you is another patron. I guess they have food since they supposedly have a kitchen but I don't know if it's any good or not. I can say their service is not bad it is non existent. There is an upside to our Crehan experience, we left and ended up at 4204 on Main St and had an exceptional experience and some outstanding food. read more

I have drove by here everyday for 18 months. I finally stopped to try it out for lunch. The parking lot was not full, but I have seen it full at times. It was however, appeared that the place was a bit busy. I walk inside, to find 8 ladies playing I believe it was gin or pinochle. I really don't know what they were playing. I just assumed from what I heard them doing, like knocking on the table. They took up half of the tables. That is when I got a bit nervous. It was noon, the ladies took up 3 four top tables, then had a another 2 four tops pushed together to eat their lunch. They also had another table between the two groups. I guess in case any other players showed up. The place does need a bit of an overhaul aesthetically. The ceiling you could tell had some water damaged tiles. The wood paneling kind of makes the place feel like eating in your grandmas basement. Upon entering and exiting, you see all the cigar and cigarette butts that people have smoked. I don't understand either why places call their selves Irish pubs, when the only thing on the menu remotely Irish is a Rueben. They do make corned beef and cabbage on the 17th of every month, unless the 17th falls on a weekend. Then they make it on the following Monday. I played it safe. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I did like the food. I loved the hot and crispy fries. The waitress was friendly. I read the other reviews and paid in cash. I guess I could have asked just to be certain for the record. I would probably go back. It was cheap enough. I just don't know if it was remember able enough to think about going back. read more

Went here last night with friends for a trivia event in the banquet side of the building. It's actually set up nice in that you go into one entrance and then the pub has it's door to the right and the banquet hall has it's door to the left. Overall, it's a typical space and while I did go into the pub to use the bathroom I did not stay there. I can remark that they were actually pretty busy and the band for that night was pretty decent so for a local type place to go, it is probably okay. I want to say definitely an older crowd. The hall space is what it is and we got pretty decent drink service from the bar waitress. Certainly not a place I would go out of my way for but if you need a place to hold a small event (guessing about 100 or so at this one), check it out. read more

Negative experience, sadly. Waitress was exposing more flesh than needed, and by flesh I mean breasts. She was the only server for a large section on New Year's Eve, never came to ask if order was right or how food was. Note server wrote to kitchen on specific order was ignored and sandwich was therefore not correct. Beer I ordered was flat. Most interesting was that server said they were known for their pizzas, but pizza was not even on menu, and not on a separate menu... odd experience, not one I'd welcome again. Also, the Reuben server recommended glowingly did not meet my expectations. Irish chicken sand was good and they did have good meat on the Reuben, but, it took a long time in coming, and food was lukewarm...I hate that. read more

My GF likes this place.. I think its just kind of a quiet bar on the wrong side of town.. it is clean and due to it being empty 90% of the time they have attentive bartenders.. the crowd varies a bit.. from 2pac playing pool to Limp Bizkit sitting at the bar, and Conway Twitty dance to the Live music.. ALL AT THE SAME TIME! I dont imagine it is a place that ever gets too rowdy everyone kind of does their own thing.. and Im ok with that.. its nice to know theres a decent Drama free place to go drowned your sorrows! But that is also the sort of vibe I get from there.. same people in the same seats everytime you go.. On the up side as I have mentioned Live Music Pool tables (Free Most Nights) and quick service.. clean bathrooms.. other than that just another bar in belleville.. However the GF thinks its "Our New Spot"... she doesnt realize it yet.. but she is wrong! We used to go to Crehan's years ago when they were on West Main Street and I always liked it. We were there once last year to hear music and another time on a Sunday afternoon. Honestly, I don't think there were too many people there under 70 -- not that that's a bad thing because I'm getting up there, too. It was just a very "dated" crowd and not what we were used to. We went again last weekend to hear music. AWFUL. I wish there was an option to give it a negative star! I have to say the patronage changed - they were a younger, more active crowd, and that was a plus. However, the staff were incredibly rude! We'll never be back. Drinks were over-priced and short on alcohol - I watched them pour into glasses filled to the rim with ice and, believe me, they weren't even close to a shot. I watched them because most times I had to go to the bar rather than wait an eternity for one of the ladies behind the bar to finish up a conversation to come take our order. Most maddening was they wouldn't provide our Designated Driver with ice water!? Instead, they wanted him to pay $3. for bottled water. I could've gone across the street and bought a case for less than $3.00. My friend asked to speak to the manager and a rude, sour-faced woman replied that she was the manager. She told us they had to charge for bottled water because there wasn't a cover charge to see the band. Really? The place we just came from had a very popular band and there was no cover there! Why would they try to make up for a cover charge by "punishing" anyone who wanted water? News flash to the manager: Most establishments let Designated Drivers drink soda, tea or juice absolutely free. Makes me wonder if this location is still owned by the original Crehan's owner? Maybe it's their old customers who keep them afloat. With their new policy and attitude, I can't imagine people would go here to enjoy a night out. read more
