My coworkers chose Roosters for lunch after a project tour. Their menu is extensive and busy. They both suggested the chicken fingers so I followed suit and also ordered tots with dumpster sauce, which was a tasty spicy ranch. The meal came with 4 large chicken tenders and a generous bowl of tots. The restaurant is what I would consider run of mill bar and restaurant decor. The server was friendly and kept our drinks full throughout our meal. The food was tasty with the chicken crispy and well seasoned. The tots were good especially dipped in the dumpster sauce. Always got good service at this location. If you like chicken in many different form or bar food this is a decent spot. Large bar, large dinning room and large outdoor patio. I rarely leave reviews, especially bad ones, but this experience needs to be shared & didn't sit right with me. During my visit on 12/17, my group experienced treatment that was extremely discriminatory. Our group was treated noticeably differently from others in the restaurant, and the management responses were dismissive & disrespectful when we asked questions. Staff, especially managers, Naveah, spoke to us differently than nearby tables. We were told to be quiet, reprimanded numerous times, telling us we couldn't clap our hands, yelled at by other customers several times, and treated horribly considering we had also reserved multiple tables. Even in a small group setting, the manager spoke to me very differently than my coworkers that were black. With 5 of us left, we tried speaking to the manager and she spoke completely different to me compared to how she spoke to and disregarded my friend, who was black. When trying to explain that to her, she got up and walked away. This experience has been upsetting and unacceptable. Everyone deserves respectful, fair service. Regardless of intent, the impact was harmful. I hope management reflects on how customers are treated and ensures fairness for all. read more

We arrived at Roosters during their lunch hour on a Saturday with over 40 people and did not call ahead, we were seated immediately, and kindly as if no annoyance to them at all. They were prompt with our food, providing us with drinks, getting food out and all of our refills/sauces/additions. Our waitress was AMAZING!!! Went with some folks here and we all got a bunch of stuff to share. There was: -chicken wings in nu-killer sauce -fried pickles -potato skins -onion chips and me, trying to stay somewhat healthy, got a small grilled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. The interior is MUCH larger than it looks from the street, and is set up with TV's everywhere, showing all types of sporting events. The service is good, maybe a tiny bit of overkill, but I would rather have that than being ignored so that's good. My only complaint is the honey mustard dressing was absolutely awful. It didn't taste like honey, or mustard, just a cloyingly sweet, bright yellow glop. I was sad too, because I really like honey mustard usually! My parents live off of Dixie, so we find ourselves at this Roosters location nearly once a month for dinner. The restaurant is generally crowded but the plaza is large, so parking is never a problem. During our most recent visit, we had a party of six. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that our visit even with a wild three-year-old was enjoyable. Food all came out as we ordered it (I will say based on our total number of visits, things generally come out correctly 80% of the time. I feel like every 4th or 5th visit something will go awry but they're generally kind and swift to resolve any problems) and was tasty! It was my sister in laws birthday and they even surprised her with a complimentary dessert. I highly recommend their salads and their chicken tenders (which are humongous.) Great variety of dipping sauces and spice levels. Overall, we will certainly continue to eat at Roosters even if there are some mishaps amd speed bumps along the way. read more

My main complaint here is that can only select 1 flavor for your wings. Most other places let you chose a flavor for about every 5 wings. Compared to other restaurants in this area, Roosters is normally staffed very well. The bar is well stocked. Tables and bar area are clean, as is the restroom. They have a decent selection of wing flavors and sandwiches to choose from. Their cheese sticks are very tasty as are their fried pickles. The managers are very professional and the lovely ladies behind be the bar always provide great customer service. Beer selection isn't the best. The prices are common among Louisville bars. They do have an excellent selection of spirits including Blanton's, Weller and Col. Taylor. They charge good prices for them. My biggest knock is the size of the menu. Sometimes less is better. There are way to many items to choose from. This can be frustrating for a newcomer, as like me, you don't want to be slow and waste the staff's time. Overall, very good restaurant. Located off the Watterson Expressway on Dixie Hwy sits Roosters. It's kinda hidden behind El Nopal and O'Charleys along with some other businesses in the shopping center. This is a very busy shopping center but you should have no problem finding parking. I went in at what seemed to be a slow time of the day. I just go and seat myself at the bar since it's only me in my party. It did take a few minutes to be waited on but not too long. I ordered one Yuengling Golden Pilsner, Mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and Medium boneless wings. It didn't take very long for my Mozzarella sticks to come out and shortly after my wings came out as well. Mozzarella sticks had the right amount of crunch but I wasn't very big on the marinara sauce that came with it. The Medium wings I ordered were bigger than your average chicken wings as you can see in my pic. It had the perfect amount of spice for Medium flavor. This is now one of my top picks for Wings. Roosters offers several other items besides chicken tenders but I can't bring myself to order anything else. Two (the half order) are enough for me with sweet thai chili sauce. Extra sauces can be requested but they charge you for each one. Sides are separate - pick a salad, fries or tots. Two people can easily share a bowl without fighting. The kids meal is a solid deal for an entree, two sides and drink. Large parties are popular here. It can cause you to wait awhile to be seated. Beware of nights for big sporting events! The food here is mouthwatering! We started out with the potato skins and they are 10 out of 10. They have a perfect amount of crispy, cheese, and bacon in my opinion. I got the bacon club sub and it was really good. I love the fact that the cheese was melted on top perfectly. The only thing that I wish that I would've done differently was remove the tomato because they melt the cheese on top of the tomato and I'm not a fan of a warm tomato. Iv been going to this location for years. Probably since 2013, I can't say for sure. Iv always enjoyed the food. I normally get wings, dumpster wedges, and possibly nachos. I love the dumpster sauce that comes with the dumpster wedges( wedges can be substituted for fries or tatter tots) I'll say that over the years iv learned that as the staffing changes, so does the quality of service. There was a time I didn't come back for years because I was served cold wings. As in I bit into the chicken and it was as if they took it out of the freezer, deep fried it for 40 seconds, and served it to me. I asked for it to be fixed and they microwaved it. That was probably in 2016. Didn't come back 2019. There were other problems that led to me not going back for so long but that's one of the examples. After I did start coming back, everything was great. Last year I convinced my wife to go. I got the usual and she got a cheese burger. Her bugher had pink in it which grossed her out. They took it off the bill and she just ate dumpster wedges. we have both gone back since than and didn't have any issues. To sum this up. I'd say I like the food but service is a hit or miss depending on who they hire. Iv never had anyone be rude to me which is good. Everyone is always nice and welcoming. I hope roosters has stopped microwaving food if the customer gets cold food. It should be remade hot and fresh since that is what I'm paying for. We never find ourselves out this way in Louisville, but we were out car shopping and got hungry. I love Rooster's. Their food is reasonably priced and always pretty good. Masks are recommended, but most patrons were not wearing them. The employees were though. Social distancing is also being enforced. We were sat pretty quickly in the back. Our waitress came immediately and provided great service throughout our dinner. Our food came out pretty quick also. My favorite thing we had was the dumpster tots-- so good! Honestly I don't expect much at a Sports Bar. I mean people either go for the bar food or to drink and watch sports...usually the later. However I was completely taken back by the service and delicious food I received and it actually has me already thinking about hitting this place up again very soon. A lot of televisions so you can see games from almost anywhere. My 5 piece boneless mild wings were good size and breaded to order (not some pre-bagged nuggets). I had blue cheese and celery and both were fresh and tasty. This place has a lot of room inside and large groups could be accommodated easily by pushing tables together. So, Roosters at 7:00 on a Friday night- won't do that again. Long wait for a table, had to flag down a server but she ended up being really nice, but this was a very long night. With that said, it's good solid bar food. Our group had nachos, mozzarella sticks, pizza, wedges, fries, chicken wrap, chicken salad, burger, and cinnamon poppers. We all ordered traditional wings and they were very large compared to many wings I've had at other restaurants. They had plenty of meat on them, which is not always the case! I enjoyed the honey bbq flavor sauce on my wings. My husband got the dry rub and said that the flavor was good but there was not enough dry rub on the wings. I ordered a half-size salad as well with raspberry vinaigrette dressing which was comparable to most house side salads I've had at similar restaurants .
