Stopped in for lunch yesterday while passing through the area. I have been to this location several times. I came in after the lunch rush, so it was not crowded. I sat at the bar and was probably the only non-local. The bartender was friendly and waited on me quickly. I ordered a Full Order of Hand Breaded Fried Fingers tossed in Medium Sauce with a side of Ranch and Curly Fries. Food was delicious and I had enough to bring home. Came here for the first time for a girls day and got seated very quickly. The place itself it nice and has enough televisions to watch whatever you're in the mood for. Lots of family's were there on Saturday at noon and it was very mellow vibes. Our server was nice and friendly, also on top of our drinks and always coming back to see how we were doing. Rooster's has a funky, eclectic look to it as soon as you walk in the door. I loved the vibe! It made me very hopeful that the food would also be good, because I could already tell that I'd come back when driving through Kentucky. We were seated and a server came right over for our drink order and ask if we'd like some apps. We had fried mushrooms. So far, so good. They tasted like typical fried mushrooms. It's hard to screw that up. I ordered Rooster Littles, 2 fried chicken sliders. The chicken on them was so large that I could only eat one. Hubby ordered a cup of chili and half salad. He enjoyed both. We were entertained the whole time we were there by the small signs everywhere. "I haven't spoken to my wife in twenty years--I didn't want to interrupt her!" First-the chicken strips are very good. That's where the goodness stopped. Ordered a fried chicken entree salad. When attempting to chop and mix the salad, I encountered 5 big chunks of lettuce core which should have never been served. Boring salad with just typical veggies and a little shredded cheese. Chicken strips had to be moved to a plate to be cut and to allow the salad to be mixed. Would not recommend. The biggest gripe, however, was the audio from one of the many televised games (it was a Sunday) blasted over the sound system at a level that made conversation impossible. Asked server if the sound level could be reduced, to which she responded by saying it was normal. There's also nothing like having commercials blasted while trying to enjoy lunch. I fully expect a sports bar to be noisy, but in all my years, I have never been in one where one broadcast drowns out all the others. I order the grilled chicken fingers dipped in the hot sauce with the insane on the side and can't finish the whole side portion.
