    (Vietnamese Coffee) Homemade Iced Coffee
    Jane O.

Just moved to Eado and decided to try to place out for lunch Togo during my move in process. First day I tried the chicken curry bowl, which was very tasty. Was actually surprised just how well everything worked together. The iced coffee (viet coffee) was exactly what I needed as well. Strong, bold, and great. The chopped beef bowl was good, though felt like it could use more of a sauce to it, but despite this would likely still get it again. Both entrees pair well with the salad/eggroll that it comes with. Super quick service and ambiance is pretty much akin to what you'd expect in Eado. Will def be back to try other stuff out on the menu!

    The Special Thai Tea

My friend and I had lunch here on a Saturday around 12 pm. I haven't visited the Richmond location about 6-7 years ago so I was curious to try it again. There is an easy and spacious parking lot. I love the cool wall design with the various animals and the dancing lion. The employees were very nice and patient with us browsing the menu. I got The Special banh mi with a side of two eggrolls. My friend ordered a Thai tea and chose the bowl option which comes with a protein choice, base of rice, friend rice , salad or noodles with a sauce option. I devoured my banh mi which was very delicious and fresh. The egg roll was crispy and came with lettuce but I definitely would like the pickled carrots to combine as an egg roll lettuce wrap. I would definitely come back again in the near future!

Top right left of the meat is a glob of pate. Best part! Special banh mi

As sad as this sounds I'm so glad I finally got to try Roostar! I ordered the special Banh mi which is equivalent to the combo Banh mi anywhere else. It's always my go-to and how I judge Banh mi places. It was really good and the amount of pate was very generous! Good size banh mi and good amount of meat. I always like when the worker ask if we want jalapeños or not cause I usually forgot to ask without. Only thing is there was a smell near the drinks. Every time I walked by it smelled like water that's been sitting there for a long time. It kind of threw off my appetite. Other than that great food and place

    Crispy Tofu Banh Mi

The crispy tofu banh mi was tasty! I had a DoorDash credit to use and opted to pick up a sandwich on the way home from work. They add a subtle garlic hint to the tofu which really elevates the sandwich. The bread was crispy on the outside without being overly dry and the portion of vegetables - jalapeños, cucumber, pickled carrot and cilantro - was well balanced with the amount of tofu. I'm a big hoisin fan and added this to my sandwich as a final compliment. Yum. Takeout orders are packaged with care in a disposable clamshell box to prevent any crushing which was also nice. While I just had the banh mi, I'm eager to try some of the other items on their menu. The customizable box sounds great with your choice of protein, base (rice, noodles, salad) and sauce of your choice. A modern vermicelli of sorts. I will say that the vegetarian options are somewhat limited overall and strangely, the tofu options cost more than several of the meat options. Hmmm... The restaurant has ample parking out front, a nice outdoor patio, and plenty of space inside to enjoy your meal. A great spot for a casual bite to eat alone or with friends and family.

Food was really flavorful. Went in there for the first time over the weekend and asked the homie at the counter for his favorite item. Item ended up being a vietnamese sand which which was too good. Food was hot, service was quick and what stood out the most is that halfway during my meal, I was asked twice if everything was going well / if I needed something else. That earned them their 5 stars cause that's part of hospitality and overall customer experience. The mango drink was the cherry on top with the blaring sun!

Service was great! Cashier was very helpful and manager walked around checking on people! Place is clean and food was really tasty. Not a hole in the wall place, professional with systems in place. Some traditional items but also items that are approachable for others.

This was one of the best Bahn Mi places I've ever been too. I loved it! This will be one of go to places for bahn mi's! The gogi fries weren't my favorite and more on the heavier side, but it was worth trying. Service was fast. The place was cozy but in the smaller side. It had around 20 people's worth of seating with booths and tables. It seems more like a talk out type of vibe.

There's really nothing to not like about this fast food Vietnamese spot... Tonight, I went for my usual ribeye and fried rice, plus some egg rolls with a side of fish sauce... I also tried a bit of their curry chicken, which was fantastic too... The service is always quick, and the food is consistently fresh and tasty...

Had roostars catered once, but I finally went back today! Ordered the yellow beef curry and banh mi, both were really great choices back then, and now. Very flavorful, and portion sizes were pretty good for the price. Service was standard and the neon lights on the wall were a nice touch!

Vibe was decent. I had ordered the protein bowl with the lemon grass chicken, fried rice, pork spring roll with avocado and jalapeño sauce. And for my drink I had got the lychee tea ( highly recommend) Everything was a 10/10 !!!

Not many restaurants in Houston offer Takowasa, which is marinated raw octopus with wasabi; and when we find one that does, it's our must order for appetizers. We also ordered the chicken karaage and agedashi tofu. The karaage was juicy and slightly larger than the size of popcorn chicken. The tofu was soft and lightly battered, however the downside is that it gets soggy quickly since it's sitting in the sauce rather than on the side. For our entrees, we got the carbonara, curry tonkatsu rice, niku tama ankake, and kakuni udon. The carbonara was nice and creamy. The curry rice tastes exactly like the Japanese box curry. The niku tama is more of a thicker soup base similar to egg drop soup, however has a more slightly sweet umami flavor. The kakuni udon had a lighter broth with braised pork belly. The service was a bit slow here, but we didn't mind it too much. The interior had a cute traditional Japanese style decor. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and we'll be back to try other udons.

Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.
