Ali is great, knowledgeable, caring and willing to help. I even witnessed him tell girl in front of me not to waste money dry cleaning her purse and what to use instead. She insisted, he again said I would you know you will not see a difference, the yellow by the seams are glue, not stains and rest is in good clean condition. Ali is grand. always happy to see everyone. treats everyone with warmth and kindness [unlike Hanna's alterations! latinos--ten cuidado!] took in my painter pants that i love and have worn for nearly 20 years. they are soft and covered in paint and the zipper wore out. Ali is a wonderful man. I was a happy satisfied customer after I left his shop. Starting from answering a phone call , to the amazing customer service in store as well as quality dry cleaning service he gives.I took my expensive black wool coat with lots of white hair on it and I asked him to please make sure there r no whites left on it and I was in a rush and he promised to get it ready the next evening. I called to ask if it's ready and told him my name and he remembered me right away and it was ready. Yes it was perfectly done and on time . Plus there was no strong chemical smell as well. I was in heaven!! Previously I had a bag zipper that was breaking down that needed to be sewed and it was done on time and perfectly. Affordable prices and friendly staff. I took two dresses from my wedding there - one to get cleaned and one to be cleaned and preserved. Both were done on time (about a month later) and the pricing and customer service were great. Would highly recommend! I live close to downtown but was hoping to find a reliable cleaner that could offer better pricing farther out from the city center, and this fit the bill! The first reviewer's description of the owner is spot on -sweetest man ever! I had 2 events in 1 week, didn't find a dress for the first in time so wore the dress I got for the weekend - thought I would be able to get it over to the cleaners in time - totally didn't so I brought it to him with my sob story that moring and he did it for me right away (no extra charge or anything) ran back over there picked it up with curlers still in my hair, changed, and made it to the event looking great. I think I have only had a dress taken in and a pair of pants shortened - they both were fine. My boyfriend took his leather coat in to get the zipper repaired and they put a new one in which is REALLY tight and pretty hard to zipper - not sure if it was exactly the right kind of replacement, but it works none the less. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. They do terrible work and when you point it out to them they are rude. Terrible customer service. Charge twice as much as other places around here. Their prices change depending on who is working and what mood their in...clearly trying to rip customers off. Do NOT go here! Had a shoe fixed here and it broke immediately after I put it on for the first time after they fixed it. Went back and they wouldn't fix it, wouldn't refund, and wouldn't even give me a discount on the second repair. The guy tried to blame it on me and say it was my fault because I stepped in a sidewalk crack...too bad for him I only wear these shoes inside in a carpeted space...never coming back here. read more

I started coming here as I was referred by a friend who grew up in this neighborhood and has been coming here for a few years. I agree with "first reviewer" Steve Z in that Ali is one of the nicest, most sincere guys you will ever come across. His likability factor is through the roof! He is the kind of business owner that defines a neighborhood. Being from LA this type of individual is few and far between. You can take your drycleaning pretty much anywhere, but I go out of my way to bring it to Ali. His work has always been solid and fast at the normal price. And I genuinely enjoy talking to this guy about business and life in general. I love walking into his shop and being greeted by Ali saying "happy to see you my friend"! When someone that nice and sincere does quality work, how can you not be a loyal customer and hope for his businesses success! Went in to get a jacket pressed and button re-sewed. About $5.50 for both, seemed reasonable to me. When I picked up the jacket, the button had been re-sewed with a different color thread than the other button on the jacket. I asked if the button could be re-done with matching thread and the proprietor looked at me like I was crazy for a second, then said they didn't have thread that would exactly match the original color (which was on the other button). I said, well of course, so could you please re-sew BOTH buttons if you don't have a close enough match for the other button? He said something to the effect that of course they would do that, they always did that. (Except, well, they hadn't.) To his credit the proprietor took the jacket back and fixed this mistake at no extra cost. But it's a very simple repair and he should have got it right the first time. Will be looking elsewhere for tailoring, even little things. Seems fine as a cleaner. Jacket was pressed properly. read more

Beware the Brand Halo The brand is not the cleaners itself, but the owner, Mr. Ali. Mr. Ali must be one of the nicest men I have ever met. Every time I go into this place I want to give the man a hug - and I don't even like giving my own father a hug. Mr. Ali is Persian, and he is more than happy to work this nugget of info to the conversation. However, stick to the basics here. During one conversation with Mr. Ali I found out he does shoe repair. Well, this guy is so freaking sweet I couldn't wait to give him more business. On my return visit I brought in my $150+ Kenneth Cole shoes to be repaired/re-soled. He took the sweet leather soles and put on an old man's comfort tech sole. I nearly crapped my pants when I saw what he did to the shoes. Those stupid comfort tech soles made me two inches taller. Also, my wife has taken in pants to be hemmed (don't do it). I'm not sure what sweat shop they outsource their alterations to but they haven't a clue on how to fix a pair of pants. I spoke to another cleaner/alteration guy closer to my house who claims he gets a lot people who bring Mr. Ali's alteration rejects in to have them fixed. Get your shirts cleaned here (they only crush buttons occasionally), get a blanket cleaned, get your pants pressed, but don't ask them to do more than that. Seriously though, is anyone completely happy with their local cleaner? read more

DO NOT go for alterations!!!!!! I brought 2 dresses. Mr Ali was nice... but I needed to shorten one dress - well it turned out to be not streight and the edge looked awful. Then second dress needed something else to be done. When I got it, it had several halls on the side and sutures were coming apart. There are two seamstresses - ukrainian and american. Ukrainian did a poor job. An american was fixing after Ukrainian and did as much as she could. Mr Ali did appologize, but did not offer money back at all!!!!! I had to pay to fix the length on the first dress somewhere else. Again - this is not a place to do aterations - you will be overcharged and receive a poor quality service. read more

My hubby was running late and called (knowing he wouldn't make it before close) and they stayed open later so my husband could pick up the suit. Will not be back. Have gone here a couple times since they are only a few minutes from my home. They actually stained a white short that had no stains and I had to go to a few other cleaners to find someone who was willing to try to get it out. Yes it was that bad and it was a dress uniform shirt for the department I work for. But, alas, I returned and figured that they couldn't mess up a pair of black dress pants. WRONG. Sadly I didn't realize it until a couple weeks after I picked them up but there was a bleached out spot on one leg. My own fault for not examining them upon pick up. Will not return. I brought in a pair of leather knee high Keens that were digging into my ankles, I had tried everything and nothing worked, before I gave up on them i thought I'd try one last time. Didn't know they did shoe repair here. Walked in, Mr. Ali was friendly and professional. He said they'd have to send the shoes out. Got them back in three days. Cost only $10 and they added leather on the inside. I've been wearing them for 2weeks now and couldn't be happier. They saved my boots! read more
