Came here for a morning cup of joe. Good medium roast iced coffee for me and the Turkish coffee for my friend. We enjoyed our coffees, the Turkish coffee has a great cardamom aroma. Friendly and quick service. There's no seating so take your coffee and walk around town. read more

Rook Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Red Bank, New Jersey

I've been a loyal customer of Rook for over 9 years, and even though I've moved away from New Jersey, I still make it a priority to visit Rook whenever I'm in town. My wife even orders their coffee regularly. The coffee at Rook is very well balanced, with their descriptions perfectly matching the flavors. It's never bitter or acidic, just smooth and delicious. My favorite is the New Orleans iced coffee with its chicory smoked flavor. You can't go wrong with Rook; the coffee is excellent, and so is the service. I wish the business the best and can confidently say they have a lifelong customer in me! read more

Coffee is good like the other locations but when you order ahead, they still make you wait at the register behind the line of people ordering. Someone should be working the pickup orders like the other locations!!! They just ignore you if you arent at the register instead of telling you to wait in the line. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! read more

I've heard the name Rook so much that I feel like I've been here many times before, but nope! This was my first visit. Their menu was really simple, basically just hot coffee, iced coffees and a mocha. I asked for a latte, but they don't do espresso. No problem! I never mind a place that has a simple menu but does it really well. My medium roast black coffee hit the spot as I walked between a few different places on a cold day. The tiny shop had some cute mugs and can glasses I was super tempted to buy and the staff was really friendly. What more can you ask for in a little neighborhood shop!? read more

Love Rook, they always give you a great cup of coffee. Red bank is such a cool area to walk around and hang out. The service was on point, they were very quick to get the coffee to us. Thanks rook red bank! read more

Very good and consistent coffee at very reasonable prices. The employees all follow a formula which is why the coffee is always consistent. They carry various roasts: dark, medium and mild. My personal favorites are Costa Rica, Bali, and Mocha Mint cold brew, depending on the time of day. My only complaint is they do not have espresso drinks. Great location and the employees always friendly, making you feel welcomed. This is just around the bend from the Main Street but not too far in that you feel you are going out of your way. There are no tables for sitting down and they do offer contactless pay and have a rewards app. read more

I enjoy stopping at Room for coffee when near one of their locations because I enjoy supporting local coffee shops. I enjoy the coffee at Rook because I like a darker, stronger roast. If you prefer a super light roast, their coffees may not be your thing. I enjoy their seasonal options too, such as the gingerbread style hot coffee and the cinnamon vanilla cold brew. They have many different kinds of coffee, which is fun to try out the different kinds and flavors offered for those who really enjoy different origin coffees. You won't find any espresso type drinks here if that's what you're looking for, though their hot and cold brewed coffees are worth a visit. It can get pretty pricey here, with brewed coffee similar in price to a latte elsewhere. The service is usually good across their locations, but it can get busy so you might have to wait a little while at times. Ordering ahead on the app definitely helps, especially around busier times of day. There isn't a seating area inside, so it's a grab and go place, instead of a coffee shop you might sit and work in. read more

Rook Coffee - Gingerbread style coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Red Bank, New Jersey

Ive always loved Rook and made it a point to go out of my way to find one as we don't have them in South Jersey (hence why im not giving a lower star rating as this is a new issue). Yesterday, I went out of my way to stop for a morning coffee at the Little Silver location. Delicious coffee as usual, however, the cup was not full. I ordered a "bigger" and chalked it up to a mis-measurement and went on my way. This morning I went to the Red Bank location, a little further out of my way to see if it would be different. To my astonishment the cup was almost HALF EMPTY (or HALF FULL depending how you look at it)....again, i ordered "bigger" to get more coffee, but feel like i was served a mini. I dont think this amount of coffee would have even filled the regular cup. Extremely disappointed and probably won't return for my last day of class in the area. Ill sleep in the extra time and get a full coffee elsewhere. Simply not worth the money to coffee ratio anymore. read more

One of my favorite Rook Coffee locations. Although they've standardized their method of preparing cold brews and hot coffee, this location has right touch. Today's visit was a New Orleans Cold Brew, no sugar and a splash of oatmilk....rich, chocolate, caffeine ...perfect!! Wifey had a hot Bali, lightly sweetened (1/2 tsp sugar) and soy milk. We throughly enjoyed our beverages, as always!! The crew was welcoming and made our beverage to our specifications. Modeled like all Rook Coffee locations, order and go is the theme. Counter height areas are available to decompress and gather yourself before your off to your next adventure. From my experience, every Rook location has a personality. The Red Bank location hits all cylinders for me!! read more

My boyfriend and I come to this Rook location religiously. The incredible coffee, the banging music, and the friendliest, most vibey staff make this place a 10/10 every time. We love this place! read more

When around central/south New Jersey you can see stickers for Rook coffee on the back of a car at least once daily. I've heard it being talked about and mentioned and just had to come in and try it. I have to say that I am definitely a big fan. They have delicious coffee with a wide variety of unique flavors. On top of that, they also have seasonal flavors making you want to come back in and try even more! As far as pricing it is fair for a great cup of coffee, they also sell bigger jugs of their cold brew to-go if you want! I do have a few issues with this place. First off, and it's pretty minor is that their online order ETAs along with notifications are a bit off. I have received later ETAs only to get a notification that my drink was ready 5-10 earlier minutes. There was another time where I didn't even get a notification and just had to pop in and ask. My other issue is I've had the same cashier multiple times and he does not seem pleased to take my order, hand me my drink, and was a bit sassy about straws. I would have let it slide if it happened once but it happened multiple times and I haven't seen it happen to anyone else that was ordering in front or behind me. read more

Good coffee. Small place with nowhere to sit though. We actually went next door to Starbucks to go sit down.

It's good coffee. But for what it is, there are better options. It's amazing they built a business on such minimal choices and no espresso. I think I'm going to open up a coffee stand with just one size regular and decaf and charge even more to make 1000% profit per cup because people love that kind of stuff. Gonna call it "Hook" and have a hook silhouette logo. read more

I was visiting Red Bank and needed a coffee fix. Sure I could have just hit up Starbucks, but I always prefer to try a smaller cafe if I have the option. Rook was close by so I stopped it to see what they had to offer. Rook is a relatively small shop which appears to only be taking to go orders at this time. I did not see any seating when I was in there (though it is possible I may have missed one or two seats somewhere). There is a small counter by the window to prepare your drink. That said, it is a lovely shop, which feels comfortable as soon as you walk in. The staff here is fantastic. Super friendly, efficient and when I mentioned this was my first visit to Red Bank, they were more than happy to answer any questions about other local businesses. Most of the stars in this review are for the ambience and the friendliness of the staff. I wound up getting the Turkish coffee, a surprising offering you do not see often. Now, here's the thing - if you've had Turkish coffee in more traditional restaurants you'll know it packs quite a punch. I was hoping for the same with this coffee but unfortunately it did not have it. It did have a lighter version of the *flavor* of Turkish Coffee, but it was definitely weakened, most likely to be more palatable to the general public. I don't blame them for doing so, but I was disappointed. That said, I definitely plan to visit Rook again. They had other, more traditional offerings that I think I want to try. I do recommend checking it out! read more

Solid coffee. Actually was impressed with the flavor but was a little disappointed they didn't have many flavor additions such as Caramel... they only had simple syrup. It was still good but took a bit longer to make. Maybe that's because the staff was playing around and jumping on each other - it's nice they love each other and they did have masks on but c'mon. Seems the best thing to do is order ahead!! Will know for next time so I can get in and out a bit quicker!! read more

5 stars for customer service. Spoke to Meg via email and the situation has been remedied. Thank you Rook, will see you again soon.

Stopped in for coffees. Was surprised that a local coffee shop / roaster does not have espresso drinks. First time experiencing this. Not a big deal, just surprising. Rook is one of those places I always have to visit when I come back to jersey. The people at rook are always so nice no matter which location I go to. My go-to order is a new orleans with oat milk. I have not found a coffee as good as the new orleans anywhere else! It's bold in flavor and is delicious both black or with a milk option. Recently I came in and ordered a peach tea instead of coffee. I was surprised to find out that even the tea from this coffee shop was tasty and well made. I will continue to keep coming back for the great coffee and kind workers. read more

Pretty rude employee currently working. Shades going down at 4:37pm - so the common person would ask if they're closing early, her response was "if the sign says 5pm, then we close at 5pm". My husband and I turned around and walked out. Any other Rook I'd recommend though!! read more

The coffee here is really good! I am normally a Starbucks customer, so I like bolder coffee. For some reason, that day I went to Rook instead of Starbucks which is a block away. Their coffee menu is divided into mild, medium, bold, and cold brew. You can get that coffee in regular or bigger size. I ordered the Bali blend (bold) in bigger. The barista caught me off guard by asking me how I liked it. I told him milk and sugar, but i didn't specify and it came out sweeter than I would like. Even though it was sweet, the coffee was strong the way I liked it and had a nice flavor. I'm no good at describing coffee, but it was similar to dark roast. In addition to milk you can choose cream, soy, and almond milk to add to the coffee. If you don't want the barista to sweeten your coffee, sugar and sweeteners are available on the side of the store. During my visit, I also ordered the buttered scone which was pretty good. There is a small selection of pastries to choose from to go with your coffee. I enjoyed the coffee and scone. I would come back and try another bold brew rather than go to Starbucks, however they don't make Frappucinos, espresso, or tea beverages at Rook. There were no seating here either, and prices are higher compared to Starbucks, thus I took off a star. read more

Whenever I am in Red Bank I stop off and pick up their beans for home use. More of a takeout place but excellent, consistent. quality

Rook Coffee - a woman holding a cup of coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Red Bank, New Jersey

The Guatemala coffee is genuinely our favorite, go to. We get it in the 5 pound bag to brew at home. Rook is the only place where we'll consider stopping off from time to time to get a cup. It can get crowded and sometimes we're not sure where to stand and not be in the way (maybe in the far corner when it's packed). Service is polite, there's an appreciation for efficiency. It's low-key with a minimal aesthetic. read more

It's a solid coffee shop, I drink coffee flavored coffee so I can't speak to any double whip latte frap extra hot type drinks. But, regular coffee is good, I like the sumatra dark roast it doesn't taste over roasted. It's bold but has a solid flavor. They are always busy so be prepared to wait a bit longer than you would at like starbucks. I also believe it's a cult, there is some weird following to Rook in Monmouth county, why people put the sticker on their car is beyond me, is it because the sticker is free? Is it like a secret coffee society like the Jeep Wave, you wave at others with a coffee shop sticker? When you see people wearing a Rook T-shirt is there a handshake? I don't get it. Either way, coffee is solid and service is pretty good. read more

Rook really lives up to all their great reviews. Their cold brew is awesome. I work next door so I go to the red bank shop almost everyday. The employees are super nice and remember many of their customers. They greet you as soon as you walk in and will help you pick the perfect coffee if your new to the store. I agree with the other reviews that the iced New Orleans is to die for...it's my favorite!! Their coffee is so good I can't even drink Starbucks or Dunkin donuts anymore. I never thought I love the taste of coffee so much!! ALSO REMEMBER TO ASK FOR THE STAMP CARD!! I heard they don't really tell people about this but they have a stamp card where if u buy ten coffees you get one free. So make sure you ask!! read more

Got the worst coffee ever from Rook Red Bank. It was actually undrinkable and 3/4 of it got poured away! It tasted like lukewarm milk. I notice if I give a maximum tip I get good coffee here and when I give no tip it is poor.... every time!!!! read more

Iced New Orleans with cream and sugar brought me back to life. The more I drink Dunkin coffee, the more I'm reminded how badly I need to get back to Rook! Unfortunately, the Red Bank location is the closest to me, but still way out of my way. This shop is cute- no seating though! The staff is friendly and although I was overwhelmed by the different brews, a young woman with awesome tattoos and killer great eyebrows guided me through the brews to help me make a decision... Which ended up being an excellent one :) The shop also sells cold brew coffee so you can stock up and make it at home, as well as pint glasses and shirts... Their pint glass looks excellent in my collection. :) read more

Love Love Love rook! This location just like all the others where they have friendly staff and delicious coffee and treats! Currently they are offering the limited edition Honduras blend so get there soon before they run out. Rook red bank is located on white street right across from the Monmouth street parking lot. Street parking including 15 minute parking is also available. The location being near many parking options make it super easy to run in and order. I LOVE Rook coffee. Five stars just for the coffee. Their coffee is incredible, and always smooth, never bitter. Especially their New Orleans style iced coffee - I can't resist getting it in the summer. I like that they also sell 32oz bottles of their cold brew as well as the New Orleans style for you to enjoy in the comfort of your home. Their pumpkin style in the autumn and winter months is excellent as well. Just as an fyi, they do the milk and sugar (or simple syrup) behind the counter so you have to ask for it when your order is placed. It used to be set up differently. I prefer the old way where you are able to do it yourself. It can get a little busy in Rook sometimes, and if your drink doesn't have enough milk or sugar, it can be a pain to ask them to fix. My only small tiny woe is that there's no seating or even stools within the shop - it's there solely to sell coffee. I totally understand that, and every Rook store is set up that way, but Red Bank really needs a good coffee shop. (Yes, there's the Starbucks, but Starbucks coffee isn't good.) read more

I love rook coffee, always have, but I do not like the new sip lids on the ice coffee. One, there is the spill factor especially while drivinv and two when you pre order your drinks they sit there exposed until pickup. The traditional lid in my opinion is more sanitary and practical. read more

It doesn't get better than Rook. I've tried a lot of iced coffees and cold brews, but when you take a sip of the New Orleans style iced you go to a very happy place. This is the best coffee I've found anywhere and as you can see from the other reviews I'm not alone in thinking that. read more
