The company workers arrived today to Spyglass Villas Condominium in Whittier. One of the worker illegally climbed onto the wall that is dividing private balcony from the front porch, entered/trespassed the balcony and without the homeowner's permission used the very old/fragile hose bib. While climbing over the wall the worker stepped with dirty shoes on the freshly painted stucco, and acreated a mess on the balcony. When confronted by the homeowner via camera he turned and walked away without even apologizing for his illegal trespassing... This is unacceptable and should be addressed by the owner of the company not only with reprimanding that worker but also by official apology to the homeowner!!! Roofing Standards does not stand behind their work! I had service to repair a leak that occurred in a roof that Roofing Standards installed on my home. I paid them promptly for the repair work but sadly, when it rained again it leaked again. On June 1, I called the office and spoke with Stephanie. She took my message and she said that someone would call me back. No call. On June 8, I called the office and spoke with Arlene. She took my message and she said that someone would call me back. No call. On June 16, I called the office and spoke with Arlene. She took my message, apologized and said she would give it to one of their project managers and they would call me back. No call. On June 23, I called the office and spoke with Arlene. She took my message, apologized once again and said she would ask one of their project managers to call me. No call. On June 30, I called the office and was flipped to Mike Lee, the owner's voicemail. I left a detailed message for him explaining the situation and requested he please call me to discuss. No call. On July 7, after six-weeks of calls, I concluded that they do not intend to call me back and they do not intend to stand behind the work they performed. This is personally very disappointing because I have done business with Roofing Standards for more than 20 years and have referred business to them over the years because I believed in them. At this point I am forced to conclude that their business practices are at best unprofessional and at worst neglectful. I am sad that I have to look for a new roofer after all this time and felt others need to know about my recent experience with Roofing Standards. read more

Our property management company hired this roofing company to replace our roof and they were very rude, when I found a hole in my ceiling, I immediately brought it up with them and they kept asking me if it was caused by their work. Can I climb up and poke a hole in this high ceiling by myself? Then they used a plastic sheet to patch it up, not even a piece of tape, so every day after that, my house kept falling dust and wood shavings because of their work, and it has been 5 days since it happened, and not a single person from this company has contacted me about the repairs. These people damaged multiple skylights at my condo in the process of replacing the roof. The skylights were pretty old, so I was fine paying for new ones for them to install. Project is over - and they have my $$ - and now they will not return my emails asking them to just help me know what sizes to order. May have to call in a favor and file a claim for the damaged skylights. Update! Mike the owner claims he does not have my money? I paid my share of the project to the association, who paid Mike. Not that complicated. Also, as plainly noted, I conceded that the damaged skylights were old, which is why I was going to buy the new ones myself. Bottom line, they just could not make time for me until I posted a review, and now he suddenly emailed me with a threat of litigation. Awesome business practice. read more

My HOA of 105 selected Roofing standards out of all the competition to replace and/or repair our 37 year old roofs. About a 17 years ago, I was on the board of directors and we've been planning and setting aside monies into our reserves for this necessary, but expensive project all this time. I trust our current board vetted the company thoroughly before making their choice. My review is not based on their technical expertise, but in about the fact that I've always said that "a business has no heart." Instead it is the people that run the business may or may not have a heart. Today I can attest to the fact that Roofing Standard's has one and it's beating hard and fast. At 8 am this morning, I was afflicted with a major migraine headache that would not respond to abortive medications. At 8:30, workmen began pounding away. Anyone familiar with migraines knows that total silence and darkness are required to avoid an Emergency Room visit at the nearest hospital. The roofing company had left a flyer taped to every resident's door with a contact number. After enduring the noise for an hour, I made a call to inquire how much longer I could expect the overhead work to continue. My contact person, Mark, advised that I could expect 3 to 4 hours of work overhead. When I asked if another cluster of condos could be worked upon due to my migraine, Mark patiently explained that doing so would create significant difficulty to their schedule. He offered to have them speed up the work and do what he could to help me. Ten minutes later, all work ceased and I was able to take a 4 hour nap and awaken migraine free! Roofing Standards and their representative, Mark, demonstrated to me that they were willing to give up their work and cost efficiencies to show compassion to a suffering senior citizen. Since they've done our roof there's beer cans and bottles along with plastic water bottles and random debris falling from our roof. Not to mention all the nails and screws they left behind. Michel Leclair is the worst person I have ever worked with. Actually we haven't worked with him at all. He kept us waiting for him for half hour after a same day reschedule and then asked us to wait for him for another 40 minutes without feeling sorry. If we couldn't wait for that long then he wanted to reschedule to another day. What's more, as a customer who has been wasting 90 minutes during a working day, we asked him to show up on time next time. This guy HANG UP! Yes! He hang up! So unprofessional and rude! We understand you might be very busy and hard to estimation how long you would spend on each home you work and the traffic might cause difficulties, but being rude won't help you do thing well! Long overdue...Yelp wasn't around then. Be as it may, we have been extremely happy with our Fibertite roofing membrane on our flat roof; Roofing Standards installed it in 2009 and guess what, no leaks nor material lifting up since! ....it's tight as a glove! What a sigh of relief after undergoing 13 yrs of a new traditional asphalt roof which "rained" inside parts of the house then installed the torched down method which didn't improve the leak situations either. So we stepped it up with the kee based Fibertite membrane (which at the time was only used on commercial buildings) and never looked backed. The actual installers from Roofing Standards were professional from start to finish including a thorough cleanup afterwards. Fast forward to 2020, we had a concern with a pitched portion of the roof which rarely is visited but does have the possibility for slippage. I called Roofing Standards and within 24 hours, I received a text from Billy. who listened and offered a recommendation (product called FTR crossgrip). Wow, was that the solution. And even better, since the pitched area was small and to avoid buying a whole 300 ft roll, he directed me to one of the current projects which was installing the product and having the foreman (Moises) cut the desired size at a prorated price. They were referred to me by a contractor friend of mine and I could not have been happier with their work. I own a Tri-plex and had them replace the roof and add on copper gutters. Not only did they complete the job quickly, they did so with little disturbance to my tenants. They were very friendly and always got back to me promptly whenever I needed anything. They even fixed the flat-top roof so that it would no longer collect standing water after it rains. This was a problem I had dealt with for years and had multiple roofers tell me it could only be fixed by re-structuring the entire roof (which would cost major money).
