I write to express my complete satisfaction with 'Roofing & More Inc. 1323 Shepard Dr. Unit J, Sterling, VA 20164. I am the owner of a townhouse/condo in Falls Church, Virginia. There was a serious problem with the front door to my unit and swing-patio doors that open on to my side terrace. Over several decades the original doors had rotted and warped, water was leaking into my unit, destroying the hardwood floor near the side door and tiles near the front door, and creating a health hazard. An engineer friend of mine recommended 'Roofing & More.' I called them and from the outset dealt with courteous professionals who made clear they were committed to solving my problem expeditiously. Promptly they sent two experts to my house who skillfully assessed the problem. They spent considerable time with me explaining what needed to be done, thoroughly answering all my questions in terms a lay person could readily understand. Later they sent an expert to take exact measurements. In short order they wrote a detailed proposal breaking down the costs--to replace the front door and its frame and replace the 3 panels of the swing-patio doors on the side of my unit. The detailed proposal contained exact costs for the materials and the charge for installing the replacements. We agreed on the reasonable terms. They quickly ordered the replacement doors crafted to the exact dimensions required. When the replacement doors were finished they promptly scheduled the date for installation. In setting that date they were exceptionally accommodating of my busy schedule. On installation day, their team arrived exactly at the start time. They carried out the work of removing the old front door and old side swing patio doors with great skill. They installed the new replacements with professional care. The crafted replacements fit perfectly. They devoted time to testing the frames and threshold seals they installed ensuring they were watertight. They replaced the part of my hardwood floor that had been damaged by water coming through the old doors. The team did their tasks with consummate professionalism. Sheets of plastic they installed kept dust out of my home as they replaced the doors. They removed every scrap of packaging and any other debris resulting from the installation. They demonstrated to me the action of the new doors and it was clear that the installation was perfect. The workers on the team were obviously experts at their craft. The supervisor was friendly and the entire team was courteous and worked together admirably. The removal of the old components and installation of the new doors was completed in 5 hours. It was impressive. I had an expert engineer/architect look at the work the next day and he described it as outstanding. Given the high quality of the work, the total cost was reasonable. After the last hurricane/tornadoes that we had in northern Virginia last month I noticed some damage that was causing some leaking into my mobile home. I reached out to multiple companies as most don't deal with mobile homes in general. I selected to go with this company because not only were they willing to help me deal with my homeowners insurance (Which wasn't much help) they also gave me multiple options to choose from so I could determine what I was willing to pay out of pocket. The others all just immediately went for complete roof repairs instead of looking deeper at my issues and my wants. They thoroughly explained each option along with the pro's and con's of each and did not try to persuade me either way which I enjoyed. Once I made my selection they kept me up to date on the supplies and when they would arrive as well as scheduling me as soon as possible as it is hurricane system and lets face it... it will continue to rain and could get worse. I was looking to replace all windows (22) and 2 entry doors on a 3 story townhome. Received three estimates from small, local and well reviewed firms and selected Roofing & More. They were not the lowest bidder, but I felt comfortable that being a multi-generation family run business they would stand behind their work. I chose wisely! During the install, there was an unexpected complication with the original builder window/siding system which required Roofing & More to have an entire crew spend one-third more time on-site over what was expected to make it right and water-tight. No complaints, no arguing, and did not ask for extra money to cover the overage. Any contractor can do the happy-day install. You need the contractor who will stick with you and finish the job when things are unexpected, which happens frequently on renovation/replacement work. Roofing & Moore is that Contractor. When we called the company for a status update, all we were told was, 'Your deck can't be built.' The same situation happened to our neighbor. Their estimate involved replacing the whole roof. They showed up even though apt was cancelled , quoted a job that likely would take 100$ in material and one hour in labor for $1048. that evening I wrote to the tech the fact that this was unreasonable. Now here is the sad part , he makes a mistake in forwarding his email. He write, This jerk not did not show up on his apt and is too cheap to order. I reported to owner Mary, Asking her to note employees misconduct , prevent a bad review , This was a week ago . No reply no apology nothing. We needed gutter work and I found these guys through Yelp. They were prompt to respond to a request for quote and did not try any high pressure tactics to sell me more than I needed. The office staff was great to deal with - always notified me in advance of their plans and promptly responded to any questions. Always super friendly and cheerful. The crews showed up on time and worked very hard and long hours to complete the work in a single day - way more than 8 hours! Very unhappy with this company. I have a 3 level townhouse in need of roof repair. I scheduled an inspection with their office about a week ago because I had seen lots of good reviews and thought it was worth the wait. The inspector showed up and said he did not have a ladder long enough to access the roof. And in order for him to do the inspection I would have to pay $170 for him to order a ladder and reschedule the inspection. The office knew it's a 3 level townhouse and never mentioned that I had to pay to order a ladder so that they could do the inspection! read more

I'm about to hire someone to replace my roof. I am not even getting a quote from Roofing & More based on my previous experience. I hired them several years ago for a gutter replacement & a small siding project. At the end of the day, the price was reasonable and the work was ok. But almost nothing was done right the first time. The salesman seemed like he cared, and very importantly, proved that he could find an exact match to my existing siding. I won't say that he used a hard sell, but it was definitely firm. I certainly wasn't expecting him to bring his computer AND PRINTER into my home to have the estimate printed out on the spot (with a discount if we signed RIGHT THEN!). I actually thought the salesman had some integrity. I wouldn't say that about any of the installers. Scheduling the gutters wasn't an issue. But there was an issue scheduling the siding project. First I was told that they didn't have the siding in stock and that they'd have to wait a couple weeks. Then, surprise! they found the siding and said they would show up the next day. I cleared my schedule, but the next day the workers were sick so they had to reschedule again. The gutter workers badmouthed the salesman and said he didn't know what he was talking about. They seemed very rushed. And they pitched one of the gutter sections the wrong way (i.e. sloped away from the downspout), which required someone having to come back and fix the problem after I complained about. The siding installers in fact did not have the right siding. But they didn't confirm that before they began, so they put up the wrong siding. They tried to act as though there was no problem. Then they blamed the snafu on the salesman even though it was clearly not his fault. So they had to come back to fix that problem as well. read more

I am so happy with Roofing & More. They helped me through a really stressful experience. My neighbors had a horrific house fire a few months ago. The fire burned so hot that it melted the side of my house. The entire side of my house needed to be replaced - the siding, the insulation, and the storm windows. I had never been through anything like this before. I had no money and I was scared that I wouldn't be able to afford the repairs. I called my insurance company and filed a claim. The adjuster came out to the house and assessed the damage. He spoke of deductibles, depreciation, and covered losses, and tried to tell me it would all be fine. I couldn't wrap my head around it. I talked to a couple of different contractors but they didn't explain the process to me. I was left scared and confused. That's when I met Kyle Hoffman, the owner at Roofing and More. Like with the other contractors, I told him I was scared and freaked out because I didnt know how I'd be able to pay. He stopped what he was doing and took the time to explain how insurance companies handle claims and how contractors who have experience working with them can help the homeowner through the whole process. He took the time to explain and reassure me. He asked if he could send one his guys out to the house to assess the damage and to talk me through even more details. I finally felt comfortable. I said yes. Kyle's Guy, Sean Duffy, came out to the house a few days later. He sat down with me and explained the insurance and rebuild process to me in great detail. He asked me a lot of sincere questions and made sure that all of my concerns would be addressed. Sean listened to my comments with patience and responded to my concerns professionally and empathetically. After that meeting, I knew everything was going be okay. I signed on with Roofing & More to have the work done. Sean and I worked through all of the details together. He analyzed the insurance adjusters report and put together an amazing plan for the rebuild. He not only found a way to make all the repairs on the house, but he found a ways to maximize the funds to have the work done beyond anything I could have hoped for. Next, I met with Rob and Alejandro. Rob would oversee the quality of the project and Alejandro would be the guy to actually do the work. They sat down with me too and made sure I knew exactly when and how the work would be carried out. They were so professional and kind. By this point I had lost all of my initial anxiety and felt confident that these guys would likely do good work. Alejandro and his sidekick, Rubin, showed up on time, as expected, to start the work. They worked all day for several days. I watched as they removed all of the damaged insulation, siding, and wood. They were so tidy! Before leaving each day, they cleaned up the entire work area. As they replaced the insulation and siding, I admired their workmanship. They made sure everything lined up and covered the area perfectly. They resided the whole side of the house and rewrapped my windows. The house looked brand new when they were done. They cleaned up every trace that they were ever there. I couldn't have hoped for better. When Rob came over to review the work with me I told him how absolutely pleased I was. For the second half of the project, Alejandro and Rubin came over again. This time to replace 16 windows. I was even more impressed with this. I'm not sure how they managed to make my house look 20 years younger. The quality of their workmanship is amazing. Not one flaw. Upon completion with the job, you couldn't even tell they had just been there. I love how these guys clean up after the job. Roofing & More held my hand through this whole process. I went from totally freaked out to content and happy. In my opinion, this company stands out from its peers. This is a terrible company to deal with! Rick signed the contract with us and verbally promised his company is a large company and will honor Angieslist 5% discount. He put in the contract with 5 years workmanship warrantee. He pressed us to sign the contract that night by 10pm. We did. He was supposed to come to pick up the deposit. He changed his mind and sent us an email with canceling the angieslist discount and two years warrantee. Do not do business with them, They do not keep their words. read more

I used this company to repair 3 damaged trusses for my townhouse in Sterling, VA. The estimate was done on 3/9/2015 and the repair was performed Fri, 3/13. $1765.21. First of all, I am completely happy w/ the estimator who came out and gave me a detailed and accurate assessment of the work. The work crew was also professional and after completing the work, showed me the pictures of the work performed. I am happy w/ the quality of work performed and recommend. What I had problem w/ was the lack of communication by the back office. First, I had sent pictures and details of the home inspector findings ahead of time and asked that they be shared w/ the estimator ahead of time. It was not done. Second, after I paid for the completed work on Friday, I asked for a receipt. I was told it would be emailed to me soon. Come next Monday, I called and asked the project coordinator for the receipt and was told later in the afternoon. It didn't come and I email back asking for it, and get a call in the evening saying the standard is 3 day turnaround and they don't work on wknd and that I was the only to complain about this time delay. Again, I am happy w/ the work performed. The quote was a bit pricier side, but I wanted to go w/ someone who seem to know what they were doing. I'm very pleased with my new roof from Roofing & More. I began this process by getting offers from three different GAF Certified Master Elite installers. Roofing & Moore was not the least expensive nor the most expensive offer, but I went with them because they seemed to offer the overall best value. I wanted the best roof I could get, and Roofing & More convinced me they could deliver. I was very impressed by their use of checklists. Like surgeons and pilots, they use checklists for everything, ensuring nothing is overlooked. They took lots of pictures during the process and did a good job cleaning up after themselves. I needed siding repair work done on my house, from some wind damage and found Roofing and more online. I sent a quick email inquiry and they immediately got back to me to schedule an appointment. Within a couple days they sent Ricardo over to survey the damage and give reasonable and thorough estimates for a couple repair options. After that we were able to schedule the job and within a few days they got back to me an did a great job of fixing my siding. Everyone I communicated from the Kristina who scheduled me and Sylvia who updated with status was direct and honest in their communication. I would skip this company unless you have a lot of free time on your hand. Your fix will not happen in a timely fashion. I suspected they were a little too good to be true. The first day they come they give you a sales pitch like you're being forced to buy a time share. That's a good time to run. Make sure you read all the fine prints. They collect 50% before the job starts and they won't refund it to you. After the 5th cancelation I decided to go with another company. They finally agreed to refund my money. As other reviewers stated cancellation is the norm with them. I got your contractor got GI bug, then the flu then you have to be moved because of people we had to cancel due to bad weather last week. on and on. I wasted a lot of my time. I should have believed my instinct and not dealt with them from the initial sales pitch. read more

This company installed our roof several years ago and it did not get damaged during any of the bad storms we have had. Part of the roof was damaged from a tree falling across it and the repairs were done so well, I cant even tell where the damage was. I'm a homeowner in the Mt. Vernon/Fort Hunt area of Alex., VA. I contracted & paid Roofing & More, Inc. for a roof repair which was supposed to "fix" a leak in my roof. I was given a one-year warranty. The leaking returned in the same area of my foyer only a few months after the repair & after the 1st hard rain. I regret having Roofing & More, Inc. do the work which was very very expensive & did not hold up. I'm trying to work with this business & reach a satisfactory arrangement. I have asked Marie Hoffman, Kyle Hoffman, & Dwayne Walker of Roofing & More Inc., (via certified mail) for written documents, one associated with a $500, emergency work order & receipt for the $ I paid Roofing & More, Inc., This emergency work was done about 10-days before I signed any contract & was not part of the contract I signed. The roof repair contract $ I paid was an additional $3525.. I'm still waiting for this documentation I requested. A Kristina Walker, Roofing & More, Inc., signed for receipt of my 12 Sept., certified letter on 14 September 2018. As a senior citizen lady who had two major surgeries over the past few months, I'm very saddened, appalled, & frustrated at this entire situation. When I get this documentation, I am hoping to meet with them & discuss this situation further. Otherwise----- I may???? I'm updating my review today (7 Nov. 2018) as Roofing & More, Inc. sent me the documentation I asked for some weeks ago. Roofing & More Inc. is also willing to waive the $170 charge & send someone out to look at my roof where the repair work was done at a convenient time & day. As I've been ill, I've had to cancel an appointment with Roofing & More. I'm hoping to reschedule, when I'm feeling better. I want to have someone present at my home when the appointment is rescheduled to go up on the roof with the Roofing & More staff on my behalf as I am unable to. Sometimes you don't fully know the value and integrity of a company until it's tested. Although Roofing and More, Inc., impressed us with their professionalism when we chose them to put a new roof on our house 12 years ago, it wasn't until a random act of nature-this week's Winter Storm Riley-produced 65 mph winds that tore off shingles on houses throughout our neighborhood that we fully appreciated the wisdom of choosing Roofing and Moore. As luck would have it, the 12-year warranty on our roof ran out 6 weeks before the storm hit and our shingles were warrantied by the manufacturer for 60 mph winds, not the 65 mph that uncharacteristically hit this area. We were left with a 3 x 3 ft. hole in our roof. I called Roofing and More on Saturday and the owner immediately located my purchase and warranty history. After considering the unusual circumstances of the weather and our recently expired warranties, the owners decided to patch the hole the very next day free of charge and were even able to provide the same color and brand shingle originally put on our roof. It says a lot about a company when they don't try to stick it to you when Mother Nature pays a visit. I highly recommend this company. read more

I am a tenant in the building where the repairs need to be done and my landlord has the contract with this company, that I have not seen, but he has asked me to be available to this company to get the repairs done. I do not have a contract with this company. I wouldn't even write a review except that their tardiness and lack of communication has significantly impacted my day to day life on 4 separate days. This review is not about the quality of their work, but the lack thereof. We have a problem with rotten soffit and trim around the eaves of our house and birds have gotten in the attic. They contracted to remove the birds and fix all of the trim at the roofline. The guy was supposed to show up between 10 and 11am on Sunday to remove the birds. He called at ten to say he would be there at 11 when he hadn't showed up by 11:20 I called him at which point he informed me he was at least 20 minutes out still. I was upset that he didn't call me as soon as he knew he was going to be late instead of waiting for me to contact him especially when he anticipated being almost an hour late total. We rescheduled for the next day (day 2) when he was supposed to show up at 5 PM and I made a point of telling him to please contact me if he was going to be late. That day he didn't call me when he was 20 minutes late, so again I called him only to be informed that he had a flat tire and his spare tire was also flat and he wouldn't be able to make it that night. I again told him how unprofessional it was for him not to contact me when he realized he wasn't going to make our appointment. He promised to be there at 9 AM the next day (day 3) at and 9 AM I went ahead and called him because I didn't want to wait around to see if he was going to be late again. Of course at that time he told me he would be 15 minutes late but he was actually 25 minutes late. He showed up with a ladder and a container of birdseed to catch the birds in the attic. He had no net or garbage bag or any other kind of apparatus to actually hold any birds so I don't think he actually intended to catch anything that day. He had also been advised previously that the birds in the attic are starlings and starlings do not eat seeds they eat bugs so putting birdseed in my attic would do nothing but encourage other pests to move in. After crawling around in my attic for approximately five minutes he told me he saw no birds and that his crew would take care of the nest material that was up there when they came out to do the repair in a couple of days. When they scheduled to do the repair the main office said that no in fact they would not take the nest material out until I provided a legally obtained video to my landlord of the guy saying that they would. The day that they were supposed to do the work (day 4) and remove the birds and nest materials and fix the trim they were supposed to be here between nine and 9:30. They were not here on time and did not contact my landlord, as we were in constant communication. After 10 AM my landlord told me he had finally gotten a hold of the company and the worker that was supposed to come to our house had been sick previously and missed a job the day before so he went to that job instead of going to our house as planned, without calling or contacting us in any way, even though someone at the company must have known there was a change in schedule. And I was informed that he would just come to our house sometime later, but not given a time. As I had to be present for the repair an unspecified arrival time did not work for my schedule since I had only planned to be available in the morning. My main problem with this company is their lack of communication. A one minute phone call the day before to let me know that the time would be changed or even a phone call or text the morning of would have turned a huge issue into a minor annoyance. To top it off the owner of the company has now called and threatened me with legal action if I don't change my poor review on Yelp as he thinks it unfairly represents his company. I can't understand how stating the facts of a situation can be seen as unfair. And his call and threats made me feel very bullied and unsafe. I can completely understand how disappointed he is to receive a poor rating, and honestly if it was just the first guy that communicated poorly I wouldn't have written a review, but when the work crew was also late without notifying us I felt it was a pattern of behavior that customers weren't communicated with. During the phone call the owner attempted to make me feel guilty about the employee that was late/didn't show the first 3 times by telling me he was now on probation and might lose his job because of my review and when I told him that, that was how life worked, he told me "God would judge me". I've contacted my landlord and told him that he would have to deal with the repairs after I move out of the house next week, so this will become his problem instead of mine. read more

However, the sales team member over promised us, causing a confusing in the contract, leaving me very unhappy. Roofing and More was picked for us. We had a big insurance job and the general contractor that the insurance company had found them. I have to say it was a great experience. Richard came out and answered all of my questions. He was really quick to reply with any text,calls or emails I sent him. There was a mix up in siding colors, as we were given a sample pack to chose from and were told to pick ANYTHING in the pack. We picked a color that turned out to be more expensive, but seeing how it was not our mistake we were not charged the extra for what we went with. Richard came out and introduced me to the foreman that would be working with the crew siding the house. They walked around the house and we covered everything that might be a concern and discussed adding some stuff to what the insurance company was covering. The installation crew was awesome. They knocked on the door every morning to say hello and let us know they would be starting work. At the end of each day they cleaned up and knocked again to tell us they were done for the day. The last day it was late when the finished and they had asked if they could come back the next day to pick up all the old siding that was left. We had no problem with that. Well is snowed that evening and they still came back to get everything. They knocked on the door and told us they would be back because the snow was covering some stuff and they wanted to make sure they got everything. The office staff was great. I dealt with a couple of them throughout the project. When they were doing the siding it was mentioned about drip edge which we didn't have. I made a call to ask how much it would cost to have it added. I planned to leave a message for Amber(?). She actually answered the phone from home. It was after hours and she was home with her family still taking the time to help us out. She got back to me pretty quick (even though I told her it could wait till the next day) with a price to add the drip edge. Over all it was a great experience. I can only speak to the level of customer service that we received from the office folks and Richard but they were outstanding. Couldn't have been happier with how the house turned out. read more

I contacted Roofing and More for an in home estimate and was not only pleased with the selection of the products they had available, but the fact the salesman took the time to explain the difference in the quality and security aspects of the various products. The installation went very smooth and I was kept appraised of the status throughout. I was so impressed with the quality of work and the personnel I had them replace three other doors on my home. I'm so glad I had this work done because as they were replacing the front door they discovered the builder had failed to secure the door in the frame by anything other than the trim pieces. Just got a quote for a new roof from Roofing & More. The salesman could not have been nicer. But he wouldn't send it to me. He said it was company policy that the proposal be presented in person and my wife had to be present. The number, when he finally got to it, was $13,657.20. I declined to sign the contract on the spot. I went to Washington Consumer's checkbook and got two additional quotes from top-rated firms, AN Exterior, at $5,586, and Furr Roofing, $5,840--less than a half percent difference between the two. The scope of work for all three proposals was identical, right down to the materials and warranty. My advice to those who are thinking about using Roofing and More is the same as my advice as to those who are thinking about using their competitors: make sure you get three quotes from responsible roofers. read more

Came out and did bid on time, reviewed cost and what work would be done, inspected the roof and showed me photos where the leak was and condition of the roof, suggested repairs, replacement and cost. I was updated by office personal when materials would arrive and work was started on time, also office personal helped with HOA. Work was completed on time, yard cleaned, no problems. Received invoice with correct amount and have no leaks. What more can I ask from a contractor. Thanks for the good job. I would have them back and recommend them to my friends read more

I actually didn't get my roof replacement thru Roofing & More. I'm giving my rating based on the estimate they gave me a few years ago. I decided not to replace my roof years ago. I'm getting my roof replaced by another firm for expediency. Roofing & More's estimate was more through and they told me the truth. And the truth about what other roofers would say and offer. So the rating is for both their truthfulness and the extensive briefing I got during the estimate. And the clarity of their estimate. Items included were clearly stated. Roofing and more handed me a written estimate. I asked for an estimate from another company; and they handed me a written contract. read more

I always knew 4 years ago that I was entering a partnering relationship with Roofing and More, not only for working on a new roof for my home with a professional and detail-oriented company, but by the customer service I received before and after the work was completed. Fast forward now, I needed critical information on the roof with only a day notice from a buyer of my home. Jennifer Martin could not have been more helpful setting for a roof inspection and gathering all documents (and more!) I needed. She scheduled Sean (a top-notch roofing consultant) who wows me with a video and pics from up the roof and explained in detail what he was doing. Needless to say, the roof in in EXCELLENT condition after 4 years, all because of the quality of material and marksmanship of Roofing & More's employees. Friendly service and adequate quality of work BUT high-pressure sales and money is the name of their game. Original work estimate was a lengthy process, estimate was done by ground-level inspection, process consisted largely of proving they are licensed and insured. An exterior board underneath a small broken trim board had rotted, and the estimate was a whopping $215 in addition to the cost of the trim board! We're talking less than 1/3 the length of a very small townhouse! Cost of wood (did not need paint) $6; their justification for the excess was that they didn't carry materials, and would have to obtain them elsewhere. Really??? There's a Home Depot less than a mile from my home! The other repair costs were equally as ridiculous. $1600 for what??? When I requested a minimal discount for a senior citizen trying to get by on social security, the response was less than courteous. Must have been the same rude woman Zee G dealt with. read more

I emailed Roofing & More the week of the September 3rd. They basically refused to communicate through email & insisted I call them. I broke down and used that old fashioned thing called a telephone to set a meeting for the 18th. I like email because it gives me a paper record when dealing with a contractor. On the morning of the 18th, they cancelled the meeting because bad weather was predicted. However, at the appointment time, the weather was fine. I was going to drop them from consideration at that point figuring they were unreliable. However, they telephoned twice to reschedule. I gave in because this was a referral from someone I respected. I rescheduled for the 26th. I rearranged my schedule to meet with them. Kyle met with me for over an hour. He could not give me an estimate on the spot & needed to return. He wanted to meet with my wife and I. I explained that my wife and I are constantly going opposite directions and that her only requirement to me is that I get 2 estimates. I explained that I would make the decision. We scheduled the next meeting for October 4th. He cancelled today (the 3rd). He said that if he could not meet with my wife and I, he did not want our business (between $15,000 and $25,000 I would imagine). Unbelievable. Wasted a month of my time. Took off work 3 times. Back to square 1 trying to get a second estimate and a roof before the weather turns too cold. Stay away from these guys unless you have time to waste. Don't make the mistake that I did and wait for them because they might just tell you at the 11th hour that they do not want your business. I should have listened to my gut the first time when it said run away. read more

Roofing and More insulated our attic. They weren't the cheapest, but what settled it for us was A) their responsiveness and B) the time Sean spent with my husband and me educating us on exactly what we needed to have done (Other contractors gave us misinformation). The work itself was done with lightning speed, yet very thoroughly. The house was spotless despite all the filth the two guys had to haul out of the attic. When we need more work done we'll definitely be going back. read more
