I'm back! I can't believe I actually backed out of the garage before the door was completely open. The door pulled off the antenna and created a dent on the roof. I just had to laugh, no one wants to pay for a mistake they made like this but when I go to Ron's it makes it less painful. This review is based on nothing but the poor customer service received from Fred. I just called asking for an estimate and Vanessa, who was lovely, put me through to an estimator. I started off by saying I'm just looking for a ballpark estimate as I know any shop would need to see the damage in person and I rattle off the small damage. The first thing their estimator (Fred) asks me is if he could advise me on something and goes on to say "if you just listen to what you said" and continues to tell me I gave him no make, no model, no year, no color, he doesn't know if it needs repainting or what, so he can tell me $9k or any amount really because he doesn't have all the info, then said I'd need to bring it in for him to evaluate. I told him he did not have to worry about me bringing my car in. I am aware the damage needs to be assessed in person. I am aware the make, model, year, color are important factors. But you know how to handle that like an adult? You ask follow up questions pertinent to your job as it is YOUR job. Not mine. He knows what info he needs, the customer might not. As a fellow customer service rep, the way he talked to me is basically the way all customer service reps WANT to talk to customers who ask what we may deem as obvious questions, or don't give info WE know we need, but DON'T because it's rude and unprofessional. read more

I am that person that backs out of the garage without waiting for the door to fully open. This usually is not a problem but on this fine Saturday morning I forgot to close the trunk and crashed right into the garage door. I thought this was the perfect way to start my morning but the story gets better. I can't close the trunk because it is completely bent and misaligned. It's a Saturday so most local body shops are closed. I called the only shop near me that was open and this was Ron's Body Shop. Rick held back his laughter I'm sure and told me that it is the holiday week and they are not taking any more cars. He must have sensed the panic in my voice when I told him that I can use Bungee cords but how do I turn of the courtesy light in the trunk so that it does not drain my battery. "Come on by, I will help you disconnect it" he said. When I arrive, he clears out all the leaves that have collected in the crevices of my car and takes out the floor mat in my trunk also to clean out all the dust. I like this guy. He must have taken pity on me when he realized that I am a doctor and I am driving around in in 2005 beat up Honda Accord that has 300,000+ miles and now I have to Bungee cord my trunk. Imagine driving to the hospital in that? He called one of his employees, Amin, who fixed the entire trunk in a matter of 30 minutes. I was in shock. They could have easily just pulled the light switch off and told me to come back so that we could submit to the insurance and possibly make more money....Instead, they took care of me and were completely honest, upfront, funny and kind. I was beyond impressed. This shop reminds me of my childhood. My dad worked on classic cars. The decor is phenomenal. The staff was incredibly welcoming and Rick was super knowledgeable and so so sweet. I will definitely be back. Thank you Rick, Amin and staff for all your help. I called in and asked if I could come in for an estimate on an older vehicle. When I got in Chris thanked me for the call. I like that he went above and beyond when he figured out my estimate. And I had a starting point that I could take to the insurance company to start negotiations. But while I was in the shop I got a chance to really see how important customer service was to the folks at Ron's Auto body. It's like a museum dedicated to all things automotive plus some extras. It's a great place to stop in and take the kids so they can see the museum inside. Once I got there, I was greeted by a young lady and just felt as though they really cared about me. While Chris was working on my estimate, I spoke to the other adjuster there and showed him that my wife had scraped her front bumper and it was going to cost $300 bucks to get that fixed. He mentioned that a lady comes in all the time for that same repair on that vehicle. And he said that he would be willing to do the repair for $250 or to use a little touch-up paint and fix it for free. As soon as I left the store I ran to the dealer and got the touch up paint had my wife meet me back at Ron's Auto body and he in fact did the repair for absolutely nothing. Customer service is excellent and the friendly family environment is something that you don't see very often anymore. The story doesn't end there I actually called in today because I was having an issue with the insurance company and Chris gave me some wonderful advice and I was able to get that problem solved with just one phone call. Ron's ruined my BRAND NEW car.. I rear ended someone and took my car to Ron's. Considering the damage it should've been a VERY simple repair and paint job. However when I got my car back I noticed that an odd shuffling noise was coming from behind the steering wheel. What's more, after 12 months the white paint started to chip off, revealing the metal underneath. The worst part was when, about 2 months after the repair, the car started to sway left and right while on the freeway. It was definitely not an alignment issue as it was sudden and dramatic -- it felt like I was driving on ice. So I took the car back to Ron's where they told me "OOPS this was our fault" and wouldn't tell me what the mistake was exactly -- they "fixed the problem" and told me not to worry about it anymore. Unbelievable. What kind of mechanic does this? I'm still in and out of Ron's constantly for the same problems and what's appalling is that they refuse to acknowledge the shuffling noise behind the dashboard. I can't go to the manufacturer anymore because they refuse to honor the warranty, claiming that Ron's caused the problems and I need to deal with Ron's. Again, keep in mind this was all on a brand new car. These are the shadiest mechanics in the South Bay. Do not risk your car here. read more

I was rear-ended during Friday afternoon rush-hour traffic. The damage wasn't too bad, but the rear hatch was dented and wouldn't open. The bumper was also damaged. My neighbor had his car repaired at Ron's Body Shop and was happy with them, so he referred me to them. Since liability was clear, I decided to handle the claim myself rather than involving my insurance company. I'd never heard of the other driver's insurance company. The claims adjuster was awful. She failed to return my calls and emails. Hector at Ron's Body Shop held his own when dealing with the flakey insurance company and ultimately got them to pay for all the parts and repairs. Hector, Rick and Vanessa were all consistently professional, courteous and responsive. I am very pleased with the quality of both the repair work and the paint job on my car. This used to be a good body shop, but "HOW FAR THE BODY SHOP HAS FALLEN FROM THE TREE"! These guys use the same darn 57 Chevy they used in the 80's. They ruined and wrecked my wife's 2006 Cadillac CTS. All the paint fell off after 6 months, especially around the areas they worked on. It peeled, rusted, & turned into such a mess within one year that we had to sell our Caddy as it embarrassed us within our neighborhood in Torrance. When we called back, all we heard was the temper their manager has. He went ballistic then so did I. It got close to a fist fight, so if you want your car ruined for life...don't go to the shop that is living off its past history because you will have to sell your car when it turns into an eyesore. I loath this shop & everyone who works there. YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR LIFETIME WARRANTY, as that is a load of bull. read more

Super nice and friendly and took care of everything. Meesh arranged for my rental car, kept me informed almost everyday with the status and when I stopped by to get my car, it was washed, sanitized (to keep you COVID safe) and ready for me. Did the final paperwork outside and I was ready to go. Meesh even arranged to return my rental car. I didn't have to do a thing but pick up my vehicle.
