This is the third time I've used Ronan. They built a house for me and it was amazing. Then they gutted a 2800 square foot duplex with 4 bedrooms 3 baths and redid the kitchen down to the studs. The latest is a 1400 square foot basement (it was flooded). Highly recommend you do not purchase a home from Ronan Construction. While they build a very nice home, once you close, they are THE WORST builder I have ever worked with. Two months after closing, still do not have punch list of items completed. They ignore calls and texts. Deceitful and can't be trusted. They acted concerned if you are able to track them down, but then do not deliver on commitments. Project Manager is a pathological liar who is the root cause of most issues, but Ronans, tolerate it and don't want to get involved directly in getting things resolved. They are over extended with too many projects and pull workers of jobs to send to other projects and take weeks to get back to your punch list, if at all. NOT WORTH the HASSLE, too many other quality builders out there who care about their buyers. Getting ready to take legal action against them now as last resort to fulfilling contractual commitments Happy to provide more details if considering purchasing from Ronan's. Just a sampling of what things look like 2 months after building occupied. After have an absolute disaster of a flooded basement 3 weeks before my wife was due with our second born, Ronan, under the supervision Jen, did an excellent job of expediting our basement reconstruction in order to get everything done before our son was born. After looking at numerous other builder's finished homes and homes-in-progress, we concluded that Ronan's finishes, materials, craftsmanship, and attention to detail were outstanding and among the best. We are detail-oriented purchasers and were extremely pleased with Ronan's willingness to work with us to make changes along the way and to address punch-list and other items as they came up. After closing, Ronan went above-and-beyond what most developers would have done, promptly addressing the few minor issues that arose and fully standing behind their work throughout the warranty period. We purchased a new construction single family home from the Ronans at the end of 2014 and found our home early enough that we were able to customize the finishes, including stone, cabinets, fixtures, paint, etc. Johnny and his brothers / team were and have been nothing but a joy to work with. They continue to stay in touch with us and are more than willing to come help with anything that needs a tweak or a fix. They've always been available and responsive if we have any questions, even 2 years later. All construction and finishes are super high quality and the craftsmanship and workmanship is top-notch. If I could put zero stars, I would. These guys are crooks crooks crooks! We purchased a condo unit that was built by Ronan. Water started leaking in our unit this past December. After further investigation, we learned that the previous owners had paid Jim Ronan and his company over $9,000 to have these repairs fixed (did I mention these guys built the building in the first place). A year and a half later, the leaks are back. So after $9K+ in repairs, we figured these guys need to come back and fix it again, right? Impossible to get a return call. I've been calling and emailing for 7 weeks, and they won't reply. Tried to go to Better Business Bureau and file a complaint, and they had an alert out on their business. Stay away. Do not get fooled by the nice appliances and finishes. They cut every other, non-visible, corner possible. read more

We live next to a house they are building and have had huge issues with the builders, trespassing onto and damaging our property. They have left piles of bricks, wood, sand, gravel, port-o-potties, garbage, and their own cars and forklifts in our driveway, blocking our entrance. They have also damaged our car from cement. This happens on a nearly daily basis and I wait for sometimes up to an hour for them to remove their equipment, if I can even find someone. I have left calls for this company and have not received replies. They have shown such disrespect for our property and our neighbors, and this has been happening for almost a year. read more

We are in the final stage of renovating a new place, joining 2 apartments into one space. The work was difficult because it's an old building and there were surprises, as there always are in an old building. Stephen has been absolutley wonderful in figuring out how to deal with the issues that came up, has been more than responsive to every single request (and some of my requests have been a challenge, I admit!) Many times Stephen has had ideas that work better than anything I came up with and has executed them perfectly! He only has quality people working with him and he is a master at moving things along at a pace that was exactly what we wanted. This is the second home Ronan Construction has built for us- the first one was a show place and that is what this one is becoming. I leave it to him to choose the molding, doors, windows, etc because he always gets the best! We recently bought a new construction from the Ronan's and we were able to work with the brothers, affecting some final finishes & designs together with John & Jimmy mainly to create the home we love and now raise our family in. I have to admit I had some challenging requests such as a french bateau bath tub that looks so beautiful but was far from easy to install, and they were willing to put in the hard work and did a great job! The house is designed with great common sense & is simply very pleasant in it's flow. We absolutely love our home & overall had a good experience with the Ronan's. I hired the Ronan's to rehab my home and I couldn't be more happy with the result! The kitchen, bathroom and floors all look impeccable and the job was finished early so I could move in quickly.
