Then half the power in our house went out. Repeatedly and randomly. Made calls to Malden Electric for a look-see. No response. Nada. Many, many calls later, messages left, total silence from our Once-Great crew & owner. We need flashlights to see our way through the house, no ability to use our snazzy new ceiling fans, no money to hire another Electrician to FINISH this job. Trusted these guys, loved the quality of their repair work. Until it all went very, very bad. Beware.

His face would turn bright red with anger when he had to meet w/ the other electrician because he knew how dishonest this other guy was, and he didn't think we were treated fairly by the other guy. So if you are looking for an honest electrician who will treat you right.. a guy you can trust, then this is your guy. As I mentioned above, he is good to the core. What they did not tell me that they were only electric heating contractors. So after paying $12,000.00 for installation I now pay an electric bill of $1000.00 a month in the winter. They walked by a brand new gas system in my home..disengaged a second gas heating 50 feet away and installed a unit that is costing me a thousand dollars a month. Not one of the employees ...installers. or project estimators...addressed what a poor and unkind decision this was. Now I have to redo my heating system...sell my house...unable to retire . Would they do the same to their mothers..grandmothers? This is a sad and sorry company. Yes I know I'm a stupid elderly woman with no recourse from people like this. Harland had a great reputation, that's why I gave it a second chance. But on the second occasion, I had the fire department and town inspector at my house to tell me what was wrong. It was a double feed. The electrician came back, swore the inspector was wrong. Disabled a 3-way swtich to remedy the problem. I find later that it was in fact a double feed issue as a switch the previously had nothing to do with the problem lighting had been wired in causing the issue. I do think that the Harland brothers are good electricians and earned their repulation. But I wouldn't recommend their employees.

We called; left a message; and received a call back later that day. I was impressed right up front when the owner (Ken) said he had a full day of work the next business day (a Monday), but would get us in Tuesday morning. He gave us a time, and that morning at 8 am he called to say his Monday job didn't finish up and would it be OK if he pushed us out until 11 am. Totally impresed with this honest approach. It was clear from the start he has a lot of experience and could troubleshoot. Our situation wasn't obvious, but he went through a thorough and what hit me as obvious and concise procss to figure out the issue, and he worked until he had what turned out to be rewiring completed. He is very sure-footed and confident about this work, and he explained when I asked him a question. If you need an experienced electrician - totally recommend, and like I said, when we originally called we really weren't sure if this was going to be a quick fix or not, but either way he took the job. In short, very, very professional and capable.
