We stopped at this restaurant on a whim after church one Sunday. I ordered the potato pancakes with a side of bacon. My husband had the country breakfast. I did not care for the pancakes: they were rather bland and dry. The bacon was perfect. My husband enjoyed his breakfast, although the sausage patties were overcooked. Our waitress was delightful and very attentive. The manager stopped to check on us. The entire place was very clean and everyone was friendly. It was very busy the entire time we were there. The menu has a lot of variety: there's something for everyone and the prices and portions are great. We would definitely go back. read more

Very nice little restaurant. It is owned by 2 brothers who are usually there and very nice and personable. They have a nice selection of food for all times of the day and you get a good meal, average meals are under $10. If you're in the area I highly recommend them! read more

The food was good coney island food, my only complaint was the quality and quantity of gyro meat on my salad. It was paper thin, very dry and tasteless. There was not much on my salad ( for $9) which after tasting, I did not miss. The rest of the salad was fresh and good. Chicken strips were very good, pancakes were perfect. Tried this restaurant in the evening while staying in the area. Fair pricing, but the food was not very good. The chili said it was home-made but was mushy and tasted funny. The bread for the table was good but was oddly presented in sandwich baggies. The chicken and fries were OK but greasy. Most of the staff was friendly, but our waitress was very grumpy looking and not welcoming at all, it was awkward. Bad Experience all together First I must tell you all that I have been a customer of the Romulus House Restaurant for over 25 years now. Today was my last time! Today we came for late lunch, only two of us, after we left it was past dinner time! We were there for almost 2 hours because the waitress did not put our full order in :/ She neglected to make us aware of this until after we had been waiting 45 minutes and I asked if they had forgot about us? She spent more time on the counter side near the window and corner by the refrigerators talking to the other waitress and the busboy than she did tending to the paying customers! We ordered the Broasted Chicken...which is usually spot on! But this time it was dropped into the fryer because the waitress did not give the cooks the full order and they were trying to make up on the time...the Chicken was sooo GREASY!!! :( so very disappointing! She also added charges to our bill that we were not aware of until she handed it to us. I understand if something may cost a little more such as baked potato instead of fries...etc..., but please make the customer aware of it before adding unexpected charges. We had a couple of those types of charges, had we known, we would have not made the choices due to the fact that once again their charge card machine was down at the register and we had only so much cash on us, so we were budgeting out the meal. When we asked the waitress about it, she said: Oh! yep, they charge more for that! I asked her how come she did not let us know that upon ordering? She said: Um...that is something they charge more for. Well how in the heck was I supposed to know that fries cost more? I didn't. We waited for almost 10 minutes for napkins!! After she finally brought our meal we asked for some napkins, she went in that corner again and started talking with the other waitress and clearly forgot about our request for some napkins...which we needed because the chicken was just too greasy! She also did the same thing again when we asked for a refill of our drinks, then when we asked for some hot sauce and then again when we asked for to go boxes. When we went up to the counter to pay our bill, (which one of the owners always runs the register...they are brothers), I made him aware of everything we had experienced this time. He did not even care at all! He did not even offer a simple apology or anything...I just could not even believe it! Not even I apologize for your wait on your food, wait on your waitress, your wait for napkins, condiments and refills...nothing! He just didn't care about our bad experience at all! I had an apology for him...I told him I am sorry, but we will not be back again! Which is sad...being a customer of a place for over 25 years....but the place just keeps going more and more down hill with servers and such and I am not going to be a part of any more bad experiences there! Last night we got a carryout. I had the Southern catfish dinner. 3rd time for me. It was excellent. My wife had the Grilled chicken Greek salad. It was excellent too. Very good portions for both dinners. Enough for 2 meals for her. I had the onion soup and an extra German Potato soup. Both were very good also. The prices were very fair for what we got. read more

This place has ruined my taste for coleslaw for me and my trust in this restaurant. absolutely hate doing this because food is ordered from here so often and it's a go-to, but not after today. 5 lunches were ordered around noon, and one coleslaw was left out of a Gyro meal-fine. The coleslaw that wasn't forgotten had a little something extra... AN ENTIRE RUBBER GLOVE. Seriously. At first, it seemed like a large piece of cabbage, but upon digging an entire used glove popped itself out. Disgusting. Even more disgusting was how the situation was handled. No apology, no offer, no solution. This place is extremely lucky the health department has not received the photos of this gag worthy situation. read more

Flight cancelled had some time to kill found this place few miles from airport. Ordered pork chops and eggs with home fries and toast. In a world of corporate restaurants over charging and making underwhelming food. The Romulus House is an oasis. Chops were flavorful and well portioned size cooked nicely eggs made the way I asked crispy golden brown home fries and real buttered rye toast. A great little joint owned by a family cooking for you as if you were family. Prices were very reasonable. Stop by if you can you will not be disappointed. read more

Good food, coffee stays filled, they don't mind if you drop in an little earlier than their opening time, and great service.

The RIBS are out of this world. I have been there two times and the other food is respectable or more. The service is very good and the owner and staff very friendly. It is also a very clean place, which belies its neighborhood. Very affordable. As I eat there more often, I will update my review because I have only been there two times. read more

Decent diner overall, but the quality seems to have dropped over the last year or so. Broasted chicken was a little dried out and we received and were charged for a couple of additions that we did not want (to our Philly Cheese Steak and catfish.) So instead of taking $1.50 off the total bill to make things right and satisfying a customer, they saved $1 and lost a customer for life. Not the best business decision. read more

A very unassuming place near the Detroit airport. Our group ate there for breakfast/lunch before heading our separate ways. The food was great and just what you'd hope for from a good neighborhood diner. Some of us enjoyed tasty burgers, while others had omelets. Everyone was happy with the food and the wait staff was quite friendly. Best of all, the check for our party of ten was only $75 before tip. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Awesome find!! I had poached eggs ham hash browns and toast. DH had veggie omelet. All for under $10 bucks!! Best poached eggs I've had in a long time. Very clean and fast service. Only took about 10 minutes to get to Qwikpark from there. Definitely will be back. read more
