Great food and service! The staff is also very nice. This restaurant is one of our family's favorite! The same gentleman that takes your order, which I assume is the owner too, are very nice and respectful. We haven't had the opportunity to dine in but we will in the very near future. Lastly, the "CATFISH" is yum yum!! read more

If your in the area at one of the hotels, as I was, looking for breakfast, this is a great alternative to the basic hotel dribble. Service is great, food comes out quick, and our orders were accurate. I can't think of anything I can say negative. Why not a 5 star, those are reserved. You won't be disappointed. I can't say anything about items other than breakfast, but I'm sold! read more

Stopped by to get a Wing dinner with fries. You get 10 wing dings and a soup, salad, or slaw. It was good and the service was good. The owner gets to know you. The restaurant is always clean and get crowded some days, but it's worth the trip. Nice family restaurant to sit down in or if your in a rush get a carryout. Looking forward to my next visit. Pictures to come on my next visit. Mrs. Knight read more

Its always good and the staff is friendly and nice and the place is always clean and welcoming to me

Love this place. taste of good ol home cooking! So far everything I have ordered from here has been great!!! Not one complaint! Well I wish there as one closer to me! lol And they have by far the best fried mushrooms! No other place can even come close to them! I seriously would drive an hour just for the mushrooms here! read more

What a great little place. Tons of homemade foods. My husband had biscuits and gravy. He said they were freshly made. Breakfast comes with the choice of hash browns or pancakes. The restaurant is spotless. The service was friendly, prompt, and helpful. She noticed that I was eating healthy and asked if I would like sugar free syrup. I wish I could hang around for the homemade pierogis. read more

We just moved to the area and passed by a couple times and the chicken in the air smelled amazing. Every time we drive by they were decently busy. We went for breakfast and portion sizes were nice as well as the cost. We had just missed the breakfast specials of the day but they looked good also. The service was great and would definitely be going again to try the chicken and other things that looked good on the menu. All servers were very attentive which is a huge thing for me. read more

The food selection is good. We ordered burgers and they were delicious. Our daughter wanted the Mickey Mouse pancakes and she got a kick out of them. We tasted the pancakes and they were also very good. The service was very good and quick. read more

Ordered a Greek salad. The feta cheese obviously had gone bad, called back to let them know. The manager told me that's just how it is, it seems like something like that could really make someone sick. I'm done giving this place a chance. It's disgusting every time. The owner is so cheap I actually feel bad for the people that work there. read more

Romulus House Restaurant - American Near Me - Romulus, Michigan

Got to admit, this is your typical "Greek" style restaurant (although not Greek owned). The portions were huge, cooked to order, the price low, the service quick and the staff friendly! What more can you ask for?!?! It was a 45 minute walk from my hotel, but hell I needed to walk off all those delicious calories. As long as the weathers nice, I'll make the trek. read more

The food here was just ok nothing fantastic. I went the use the restroom and it was absolutely filthy. There was feces all over the floor, wall the toilet paper holder. You could really tell it hadn't been clean in a long time. It made me wonder what the kitchen looked like. I was grossed out after that and I couldn't even eat the rest of my food. read more

I love, love, love this place. Super nice staff who remember me and excellent service. I feel at home here! The food is typical Denny's style food, but the price and location can't be beat. It is only about 3 miles from Merriman Road near the Detroit Metro Airport. read more

I really like this place. My mom enjoyed everything that she ordered. Next to time I'm in town I will definitely go there again

-Simple place, not a huge, but that's good. -Lots of locals (always a good sign) & everything was very clean & tidy. -Solid regular menu (breakfast served all day) & a nice collection of specials. -I had chicken livers w gravy & sides. Very good. -Yeah, I know...chicken livers...not at the top of your favorites list. But they are a childhood favorite. read more

There food is decent but I have placed a telephone order multiple times and it's irritating. They act like they can only except cash for the pickup which is BS because they have card readers there and if you dine in you can pay with a card. I have asked multiple times why this is and they never give a reason. Terrible customer service terrible attitude. read more

I have no issue with their food. It's good. My problem with Romulus House was the policy of the owners to refuse credit/debit cards at random dates/times. They would claim their machine was out of order, but others have seen them accept credit cards with their out of order sign out. They have an ATM in the vestibule, but it frequently is out of order. A family I know recently went there for dinner, and the wait staff was too busy goofing off to take their order. After a while, they just left. That is inexcusable. From what I have seen in their parking lot, they can't afford to alienate many more customers. read more

The food is fine for a diner, and it's the best food available anywhere in town due to a lack of options. I've been there several times. Some things like the hummus, salads, and saganaki very good/fresh. The broasted chicken is nice and crispy, but the sides served with it are bland and overcooked. This restaurant is happy with serving mediocre food. The service from the waitstaff is always great. No problems. Bring cash. The credit card reader has been broken for 2 months and they tell people to use the ATM in the lobby. Its gone on for so long that I think they don't intend to fix the credit card machine and are just passing off the fees to the customers. read more

Every time I've visited this place, I've come there with the intention of ordering frog legs. Every time, they're out. Why have it on the menu? Obviously the place isn't managed/operated very well. read more

Definitely a fan. We were in the area for spring break, and our car broke down. We found our way to Romulus House at the end of a VERY long day, and it definitely saved the day. My husband has the fish and chips, which he loved. My mom had the Reuben, which she said is the best she has had anywhere with super fresh kraut. My niece had this giant platter of french toast which she was super happy about, especially since they let her add strawberries even though it wasn't on the menu. We also had appetizers. The hummus was very good, and the deep fried mushrooms were spectacular. My gyro was only so-so. Definitely not bad, no complaints, just not wowed. Over all, we were very impressed, and very grateful to have such a great dinner at the end of the day. read more

Chose this place randomly based on the good reviews and that it was close to our hotel. We were not disappointed. It was friendly, clean, and we quickly got our food. We had omelettes with potatoes and an order of French toast. All of it was delicious! The prices were great too. read more

Advertised a free thanksgiving dinner from 4 to 8 with a donation to Goodfellows. As I don't have much family I drove 15 miles to try it out instead of making anything at home. Got there at 7:00 to find the place locked up and lights out and looked like it had been for a while. No cars in parking lot and nobody inside cleaning up. Maybe they ran out of food. Still should have taken that into consideration when making the offer. Hard to trust a place like this. read more

Good food. I had steak and eggs with hash browns dry because I have a dairy allergy. They totally disregarded all allergy warnings. The waitress was rude and did not want to wait on us. She didn't bring out the soup of one of our party and got mad when we asked for it. The owner was rude when we tried to get seats together and again when we tried to pay. Good food but we'll never be back. read more

My husband and I used to frequent Romulus House Restaurant on average once per week. We made a conscience decision to no longer eat at this establishment once their prices increased and quality of the food decreased. We went there for the final time two weeks ago. I was shocked to find a baby back rib dinner on the menu priced over $20 and shish kabob meal for $15.95. These prices are outrageous for a small neighborhood restaurant. My husband order spaghetti and meatballs. They were out of meatballs. He then ordered the fried shrimp and onion rings. The shrimp were dry and the batter was tough. The onion rings were over-cooked. My meal was just okay. It was not even worth eating the left overs. We left very disappointed in the food and don't plan to return. read more

Food is pretty good I can't lie. There is a family vibe here that I can't explain. The prices are very fair and the staff is really nice overall. I also believe the location is great due to there not being many restaurants around in general around here. read more

I thought for sure I would like this place based on the reviews, but sadly I had a very different experience than most. When our party of five arrived there were about 4 or 5 unoccupied tables, but none next to each other to push together to make a larger table so we were seated at a 4 top and given a chair to put at the end of it. The chair directly blocked the fire exit. I guess who cares when you already stack the high chairs in front of the fire exit as well. So, my husband had a nice view of high chairs and would be the prime tramplee in the event of an emergency. A young man came by and dropped off four settings of silverware and we asked for the fifth. He never brought it. About five minutes in, another young lady came and took our drink order. I assumed she was our server, but I was wrong, as another young lady who turned out to be our server eventually came to drop off the drinks -- SANS straws. Coffee was delivered in a to-go cup because she said they ran out of coffee mugs. Um weird. It wasn't even a full house. We asked for straws. The server came back and took our order having forgotten to bring the straws...sigh. She left and when it was clear that she was not returning to bring straws still, I got up to get them myself. After a while, I got up again to get more coffee. Our breakfast took 25-30 minutes to come out and not ONCE did our server come even near our table. Yet, another server managing the tables near us is going back and forth a zillion times, each time bumping into my chair because we are 5 people jammed into a 4 top. Meanwhile, occupancy has dwindled and the place is about half full now. Finally our order arrived. My omelette was overcooked and dry. My daughter said her eggs tasted "funny". I tried them and she was right. I can't be for certain that they were, but they were reminiscent of powdered eggs. My son said his steak was tough and chewy. My husband had ordered a side of corned beef hash, but he didn't get it because I guess the server thought he said hash browns. Typically, this would not annoy me so much, but we'd been waiting FOREVER - and for what - eggs and pancakes. She leaves and we are still short a silverware setting so I have to get up yet again to get one. This is the third time now that I had to get my own items. The corned beef hash comes out another 15 minutes later. Other than dumping off our food and then later the corned beef hash, we never saw our server. Not once did she come by. How is this possible when the restaurant is 1/2 empty? It's as if she wasn't even trying. We only got drink refills because we got up to get them. None of the plates on our table were removed. Oh, that's another thing -- they put every single item on a separate plate. We had plates up the wazoo! It was ridiculous. When we got the bill there was a miscellaneous charge of $2.00 listed at the bottom. When we questioned it we were told it was the difference between the hash brown side dish (which was already listed on the bill) and the corned beef hash side dish. OMG -- it took 45 minutes to even get the flipping corned beef and it was a server screw up. You couldn't even comp the $2.00?! I kid you not, the server then came over when we were completely done with our meal and were already up to go and asked if we needed anything else. I told her that there was a lot we needed when we were actually having our meal, but given we were finished, that it would be of no use now. Her response was "I know. Sorry about that." Wow. That was awesome. Never. Again. read more

We'll let's just say our first visit sucked! The cook was the manager and he threw my husbands plate at him! Which was really disrespectful. The waitress wasn't pleasant she seem to care more about her boss attitude verses our complaint. Hands down far most bad experience I ever had to deal with in a public place... Ok decided to give them a second try during the night staff and I must admit I was totally surprised of how good and how we'll things went. Food was great and prices were affordable. Will I go back yes and yes but only durning nite staff read more

Definitely not the place for fried chicken! Had better mashed potatoes in prison. Mixed vegetables are straight out of a can. Food is very bland. Two thumbs down! read more

What a deal! This is not fine dining, but it has a huge menu and great prices. You might compare this place to a Big Boy or a Denny's, but the food is better, the choices are broader, and the prices are less. I am not sure, but I think this place is family owned and the people are very nice. When I fly or pick up someone from the airport, this is my favorite place to stop. One bad note -- when you get bread with your meal (not toast), it looks like regular grocery bread in a Ziploc that comes in the bread basket. On the bright side -- most non-breakfast meals come with a soup/salad and a scoop of ice cream included read more

If you like fried catfish you have to try the catfish dinner. Just enough seasoning you wont need hot sause.

We live right down the street and I've lost count of how many times we've passed up the fast food joints to get real home cooking for the same price. I can't say enough good things about this place...they can do anything. Corned beef and cabbage for St. Patty's day was spectacular and their Polish platter they occasionally have is top notch. My husband and I even took our wedding party after the wedding to Romulus House because the food is that good and the staff is that amazing. I will be coming here with my children one day it's a gem! read more

Excellent food, fast service, great price

I had dinner here tonight and I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews on Yelp led us to this restaurant as we needed to go someplace close to the airport. The food was really good and portion size was very good! The ribs fell off the bone and the sauce was just right. The only issue, not a huge problem, was the waitress. She seemed rather depressed or tired. The sign on the door said wait staff needed, so maybe she is over worked these days. All in all this was a really good experience. Reasonably priced and good sized portions. Happy Dining! read more

Great little place. Reminded me of going out to eat when I was a kid a long time ago. Food was good and ludicrously low priced. Thanks!

Yesterday 4/19/15 I stopped at Romulus House after arriving in Romulus from Chicago. The restaurant advertise on the building (The Best Broasted Chicken) . This was the worst chicken I have had at a a restaurant; it looked burned and the white meat tasted like rubber. I otdered the 4 piece meal. I threw the chicken out. I was very disappointed. It was my first time at this diner. Most people including myself just accept bad experiences. I decided to write about it. read more

This Restaurant is ok and the waitress was polite. Unfortunately I was not able to dine inside today due to the overwhelming response of fly-nets at my window table area. They were literally trying to soak up my lemonade drink. I politely escorted myself to the cashier and requested my food for a to-go order. read more
