I get injections in my knees from my primary care. They dont work. The Harbin network here in Rome is limited on their capabilities and it shows.

I don't even think they will set an appointment at this location without insurance. Anyway, He tells me I have a 48 dollar copay. I asked if It could be billed he said he would ask. I'm later told just this time, I tell him that I could pay it later today and that I lost my wallet. I get called back to the window to get told that I will need to reschedule my appointment because I cannot pay my co pay right then. while this is going on, there is another patient that has a similar situation as mine. The difference with the other patient is, he can't pay his until the 14th. The other patient is still able to be seen by the doctor, but I have to reschedule my appointment because of a co-pay. What is the difference between myself and the other patient? This is insane. I don't live in Rome,Ga, but I drove to this location because my injury was treated by the doctors at this Harbin clinic location. it is a shame that great doctors can have a bad front staff.

Hard to find a place to begin to explain everything that is wrong with this place. The first thing…read moreI noticed was an underlying unpleasant odor that they were trying to mask with one of those essential oil dispersal devices. The overpowering aroma from that gave me stuffed up sinuses and a headache within about 10 minutes. While I was waiting to be taken back, what I assumed to be a lab tech dressed in scrubs brought a batch of syringes to the counter behind the reception desk and just laid them out on the counter and started filling them with no concern for a sterile working environment. The hallway leading to the examining rooms wasn't the cleanest I had ever seen for a medical facility and there was no indication that any attempt was made to clean the surface of the X-ray machine I had to place my bare foot on for imaging. The exam room was kind of a mess and when the doctor entered and looked at my X-rays he told me what a mess my ankle was in and if was a 12 year old he would have scheduled me for surgery as quickly as possible. I found that interesting since I wasn't there for any sort of an ankle problem, but had in fact had successful corrective surgery on the left ankle many years ago. The doctor quickly pointed out what a mess the original doctor had made of my ankle joint during surgery and that it was going to take him a lot of work to correct it. Well, the ankle wasn't the issue. I was there because I was experiencing plantar fastidious in one foot. After finally getting him to focus on that problem he told me that he was going to put me in an appliance to lift the heel of my foot higher. I asked him by how much and he said about 3/4-1 inch. Normally the root cause of this type of problem is the Achilles tendon being shortened and affecting the tendons in the arch of the foot. It also went against all advice and treatment I had received from other doctors prior to moving to this area a few years prior to this visit. I expressed my doubts about his solution and he quickly and arrogantly informed me that he had a degree in bio-engineering and wanted to know what my background was. When I told him engineering, he quickly veered off in another babbling direction of nonsense. I know some people hold him in high regard, but he is a condescending and arrogant individual that only wants to plow ahead on his path and not taking anything you say into consideration and does not listen to anything or any concerns you voice. I was pretty much seething by the end of the appointment and couldn't wait to get out of the building. In the end I followed earlier advice I had been given along with my own logical research, bought well cushioned sets of shoes with a low drop or no drop from the heel to the ball of my foot. This stretched out the Achilles tendon and completely relieved the pain in less than a month.

First of all, my appointment was at 4:00 pm. I arrived at 3:45 to fill out paper work since I was a new patient. I am not the type to comment on sanitary practices, but during the time we are going through, I expect professional doctors offices to be sanitizing thoroughly. Not a single pen (that every patient was touching) was sanitized nor were any seating or counter tops. And on top of all of that, there was a dog inside of the building the entire time I was there! Completely unprofessional. I was not taken back to a room to be seen until 4:50. Once I was taken to the room, I then waiting even longer to be seen. Dr. Lapoint did not enter the room until 5:10. It was very obvious that he was in a hurry to get me out of there since I was his last patient for the day and THEY were running behind. I explained to him that I have been in pain for over 10 years! All of this to say I went through all of that for him to look at my feel from a distance, not even touching them, to say that there was nothing wrong with them. After he exited the room another woman came in and told me that the next time I come in, I needed to "make my appointment around 1 or 2 pm so they aren't there this late next time" As if them running behind was my fault. I am extremely dissatisfied with my visit and hope that everyone reads this before making an appointment with Georgia Foot and Ankle.
