I waited to post this review because I wanted to give Dr. Robinson the opportunity to hear my concerns directly before sharing my experience.
Dr. Robinson performed my original breast augmentation in 2011. In 2021, I returned for an implant exchange and to discuss a breast lift. I explained that I wanted a fuller, perkier appearance and showed him an inspiration photo. He assured me that I did not need a full lift and that a mini (periareolar) lift would achieve what I wanted. I trusted his recommendation and proceeded with an implant exchange and mini lift, with the implants placed under the muscle.
Unfortunately, I was unhappy with the results from the beginning. At my three-week follow-up, I stated that I was happy with the size but wanted to discuss needing a lift. I was told it was too early to tell. At three months, I again expressed that I thought I needed a lift and was told we would reevaluate at one year.
My concern was not simply that my breasts needed more time to settle. Their appearance was noticeably different from what I had discussed and shown him during my consultation, and I did not feel my concerns were being adequately addressed.
I also developed visible and palpable protrusions in the cleavage area of both breasts. They became more pronounced when wearing a bra and lying down. As embarrassing as this is to admit publicly, I became so self-conscious that, for five years, my husband had not seen me without a bra while lying down. This significantly affected my confidence and comfort in my own body.
In December 2025, I returned to address the protrusions. Dr. Robinson acknowledged that he does see this occur, referred to them as "blebs," attributed them to thinning breast tissue, and discussed repair while warning that they could recur. However, two additional surgeons I consulted afterward said they had never seen deformities like these, particularly how pronounced they were when lying down.
In August 2026, I underwent an extensive six-hour revision surgery with a different surgeon. My operative report documents bilateral implant malposition, both implants being upside down, and implant pockets that were excessively wide.
I also noticed that the implants selected in 2021 were wider than the breast width Dr. Robinson documented in my medical records. This is an observation from my records, not a medical conclusion.
I recognize that my body went through significant changes over those five years, including weight fluctuations and changes in body composition. I understand that weight fluctuations, aging, and gravity can affect surgical results. However, my concerns began immediately after surgery and persisted over the years.
On October 22, 2026, I met with Dr. Robinson to share what was discovered during my revision and provide feedback that might help future patients.
During our discussion, Dr. Robinson made it clear that, in his view, the findings documented during my August 2026 revision were not present when he performed my surgery in 2021 and that he did not consider himself responsible for them. I want to be fair and ensure his position is represented. He attributed the changes to weight fluctuations, gravity, and aging. He also stated, "If I gave people their money back, because their body changed five years after we did their surgery, we'd be out of business within a couple of days."
He chuckled during the conversation, which I found disappointing given the seriousness of my concerns. I left feeling that my concerns were once again being dismissed rather than genuinely heard.
I can only speak for my own experience and don't suggest everyone will have the same outcome. I genuinely hope Dr. Robinson considers the findings from my revision, listens to patient concerns, and takes this feedback into account when treating future patients with similar anatomy and goals.
I will include labeled photographs in the comments so others can form their own opinions.
Thankfully, my revision with another surgeon has given me the results I originally hoped for, and I couldn't be happier. I hope sharing my experience helps others ask questions, advocate for themselves, and make informed decisions. read more
