Oh Mario Mario Mario...you have done it again. I am so happy to have had you in Dallas all these years and now you have gone off and made a wonderful spot for the people of NM. They should cherish you. I love the gluten free menu you have added. I asked for it here for years...and you did it for them....do they know how lucky they are to have you? Real italian.....none of that Olive Garden insanity. Love the Jordan...best wine to dine in style. The meat, chicken, seafood, and veggie dishes are all outstanding...but your ability to rock out a pizza...SUPERB! I missed the cappucinos...but so happy to have them at your new establishment. Cannot wait to add in that extra kick if NM ever allows for it. I think I still have my HOW TO MAKE TIRAMISU from scratch recipe. So fantastic. I know you were the driving force behind the places here bc they are lacking and all barely hanging on. Mario knows how to cater a party, host a business party, a holiday event for the office staff, a romantic night for 2...whatever you need. He always blew us out of the water here in Dallas. All the professional sport teams went to him for fine dining here and we thought we could keep up after you left...but I guess we will all need to charter private planes to pay you more visits in Clovis. read more

Geez! What a sorry excuse for pizza! Raw crust; raw vegetables and what was that round pink thing? It wasn't pepperoni. Gross pizza! Order Dominos or Pizza Hut instead. And the minestrone soup sucked too! I ordered the soup to go and when I got to my room it was filled with liquid and only had about 4 pieces of vegetables. After eating Mexican and New Mexican food the last several days, Roma's was a nice change of pace during my stay in Clovis, New Mexico. It's nice to find unique, local, non-chain restaurants when I'm in a new town. My friend and I decided to eat there after reading the reviews and because it was just up the road from the Hampton Inn where we were staying. I was afraid we would miss the place because several people said it was hard to find, but we found it easily enough. It's right next to the Budget Inn, and there was a tall sign right out in front. Parking was almost an issue because Roma's has a couple of large rooms in the back, and people were gathering here for a couple of meetings. The decor is nothing fancy, but the wait staff were very friendly and quick. We were seated, given menus, bread, and our drinks almost immediately. The waitress recommended the Spinach Ravioli, and that was what we ordered. Our house salads arrived promptly. It was fresh and had good tasting dressing. Not bad. Our food arrived before I was finished with the salad. The Spinach ravioli was incredible. It was hot and delicious. Mario's special pesto cream sauce was amazing. I would have licked the plate clean if no one had been watching. It was that good. I wish they would offer a wine or beer selection to go with the meal. Based on reviews, I did not try any appetizers or dessert this time, but I definitely will go back and try some of the other dishes. read more

Well, what can I say? I was hoping for better. Service was quick, staff were attentive and friendly, but...that's the best of it. I must recommend that they do NOT display wine in wine racks unless they are able to also sell it. I mean, come on. Really? That was very odd and a letdown as well. The food was what you'd expect to get if you ordered Italian food at a Denny's restaurant or a family diner. Kind of like they serve it because customers expect it to be on the menu, but it's certainly not their specialty. The bread looked rather like someone ran to Walmart and bought a package of heat and serve rolls, but less tasty. What is with this town? I stumbled upon this amazing gem of an Italian place when I visited Clovis, NM. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and think of myself as someone who truly appreciates a good Italian dish. I cannot say enough good things about this family-owned restaurant. 1) Their food is amazing. Quite heavenly to the taste buds to be honest... We started off with the freshly made bruschetta - perfect combo of oil, garlic, tomatoes and homemade balsamic dressing. For dinner, my Dad had the salmon & jumbo shrimp in a vodka dill sauce, and I had the Roma Salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and very fresh. 2) The family is so very friendly. The owner actually cooks in the kitchen and you can tell that he puts attention into every single dish that comes out. He brought Spumoni for dessert to our table. What owner makes a personal appearance at your table and brings dessert?! So kind, and (need I say) delicious. 3) This is a great convenient stop off of Highway 60/70/84 if you're traveling. 4) This was the perfect find after a long trip. Truly a hidden gem in a smaller town. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in the Clovis area. I will be visiting again next time I'm in town! read more

Stay away! We have had several people tell us how great they think this place is, but I have been twice and can't figure out why. If you are going to run a restaurant, you should be able to trim the weeds by the front door and put a coat of paint over the peeling, rotting wood, and maybe replace your falling and sagging, discolored ceiling tiles. I have never seen a restaurant so run down... Makes me afraid of what the kitchen looks like... I don't care how good your food is, and it's mediocre and over-priced. We waited for 2 hours for our food, and had put in a reservation weeks before so there shouldn't have been any problems scheduling staff. Also I never received the drink I ordered. But the worst part is the staff, when asked how my meal was upon checkout, I told them what I thought. Their response shocked me: "Well, if you don't like the restaurant, maybe you shouldn't come back." I asked to speak to the manager, and she sarcastically stuck out her hand and said "I am the manager." I then asked to speak to the owner, but she refused saying he was too busy in the kitchen. After I paid my check she said she would go ahead and send him out. When he finally came he did not speak to me but instead addressed the whole table of 25 saying, "This isn't McDonald's here, I don't make your food until you order it." Yeah, because I've never seen a McDonald's that was this much of a dump. When the manager pointed me out to the owner/chef, he deliberately turned around and walked the other way, greeting customers he knew and avoiding eye contact with me. He never gave me the opportunity to speak to him. An Olive Garden in this town would put Roma's out of business in 6 months or less. Honestly, in a larger town I think a health inspector would shut the place down. I will not return. read more

Best Italian food I ever ate and I grew up in a predominantly Italian city in the Midwest. Awesome marinara sauce! Chicken Aristocrat was chicken breast, eggplant and a creamy buttery subtle pink sauce over homemade noodles. House dressing on salad was very tasty. Our dinners were delicious! Chicken Parmesan, spicy Shrimp Diavolo, two pastas with meatballs and fresh salads were well prepared and filled us up! Recommend the house Italian tomato salad dressing. If i could have given zero stars i would have. This place is horrible. The food is way over priced and not worth the money. They claim to have authentic, homemade Italian food. There is nothing authentic or homemade about this food. I got a salad with the house Italian dressing...it was horrible. It tasted like ketchup with vinegar! I also had the spinach ravioli. $10 for 4 raviolis! Crazy. Our waitress was never around. When we asked the manager for her he didn't know where she was. There was only a few people in the restaurant at 6:30 on Friday night. Now I know why. read more

I really wanted to love this place but the food is not very good. We ordered a pizza, appetizers and the seafood special and they were not good at all. The pizza was flavorless even with all the toppings and the seafood was just ok. The appetizer was very small for the price and wasn't cooked all the way. The salad we ordered with the meal came with the house dressing which was sweet marinara sauce, not good on salad. The staff was very nice and the place was clean so that's a plus, which is why I gave 2 stars. We wont be going back because the food wasn't good, my kids wouldn't even eat their pizza because it tasted strange. I really wanted to like it! read more

I went to this place after hearing the commercial over and over on the radio about how fresh it all was. Let be be straight forward.. It is not fresh or from scratch as they would lead you to believe. My boyfriend and I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. I could not actually taste what they were stuffed with but the mushrooms tasted a little bit off although the sauce wasn't too bad. When we further examined their menu there was a huge amount of gluten-free options for entrées and even pizza and desserts! It was a huge bummer when the waitress informed us they were out of any kind of gluten-free dessert they had run out of gluten-free pizza crust and they were currently out of gluten-free pasta, so basically they did not have any gluten-free options whatsoever. We ordered the chicken Alfredo.. Our salad came and was iceberg lettuce with one small sliver of tomato and a small sliver of cucumber, it was pretty much an iceberg lettuce salad. Here is where all the stars were lost completely! The chicken Alfredo was a very small portion when it finally arrived and the chicken was exactly like chopped up chicken nuggets or chicken patties. It was terrible. My boyfriend loves chicken but hates chicken nuggets and we had no idea it would be like that. Fried, breaded and cut into small pieces unlike any decent chicken Alfredo I've ever seen. After telling a few people of our experience there they all had disappointing stories of their own. Ps the chicken Alfredo was 12.00 per plate and The stuffed mushrooms were 9.00. If you want Italian food in this town you're better off going to Papa Murphy's than Roma's. Sad but true read more

we tried roma's my husband got alfredo and i got mannicoti neither was any good. the bread sucked hard as a rock . he also got something like a pizzoli really nasty had gross feta cheese.when i talked to the owner he was very rude we will never go back and certainly never refer anyone to this place.my husband said why would we pay for nasty food when u make delicilous mannicoti ,their sauce tastes like tomatoe paste straight out of a can. read more
