    Nice cozy place!

Solid good fast food, tacos are a little on the small side but tasty. Chalupa was great! Combo burrito was good but all the beans were at the top and all the meat at the bottom. Sour cream was only in the last bite. Overall worth it and just a little more prep care would have made it even better. I would come back! They gave me extra hot sauce without a hassle, a major plus.

Cheddar fries (tots with melted shredded cheddar) with added bacon (70¢) and added green chile (50¢)

Why aren't there more Taco Box' in the world instead of some of the other taco places? They're celebrating 50 years in business, which is proof there should be more! They're known (vs other chains) for having potatoes in their burritos. They don't just shove tots into the burrito as they assemble them, the potato is cooked with the meat, making the filling flavorful instead of tasting hacked. The tortillas are tender, soft, and easy on dental work (haha, I have a temporary bridge, so that's important to me at the moment; maybe someone else has dental work and would want to know). Here's the BEST part... they can add New Mexico green chile to anything for 50¢ more! I like the cheddar fries (tots), with bacon (70¢ more, they're actual bacon chopped up and not hard bacon bits), and green chile! It cost more than my entree, but absolutely worth it! Yesterday I had the beef burrito and today the chicken chimi that's filled with cream cheese, tender chicken, and red and green chile. (Yes, I ordered the loaded tots two days in a row and am not sorry about it!)

Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, Pork Flautas, Pig-In-A-Poncho, and salsa

Ever a fixture of Clovis, NM, this location is celebrating 50 years in the town. I've visited this spot a few times and, while the spirit is quaint, the food is sometimes a slight step above food found at local fairs. It's a menu that has some Mexican fare, alongside burgers, cheese sticks, and deep fried Snickers bars. In my most recent visit, I had an assortment of fried foods: mozzarella cheese sticks, pork flautas, and a chimichanga stuffed with a hot dog and American cheese. All of the food was...fine. The cheese sticks were reliably tasty but desperately needed a marinara to dip into. The flautas were extra...porky(?)--something tasted off about them and I couldn't finish them. The hot dog chimi was what one would expect (if one expected such strange things): a fried tortilla stuffed with a wiener and plasticky American cheese. Needless to say, I wound up a bit ill for the next few days with a mild bout of some form of gastrointestinal distress. Could have been the glut of fried foods. Could have been the pork. One will never know, but I'm not willing to risk it again. I would, however, get the fried cheese sticks any day.

I've lived in Clovis for 2 years now and everytime i pass taco box there's a line out to the street so i decided to try it the first thing i want to say is the staff was amazing but as for the food it was not great i would have rather spent my money down the road at one of the restaurants it was $30 for 2 small burritos they charge $6 for a small guacamole that can literally get maybe 4 scoops out of the only thing that was good was the chicken chimi as for the rest it was over priced and not good if your considering going here i don't recommend the food is drive thru food with restaurant prices

Green chili cheeseburger & Spanish fries

Seeing that Taco Box was one of the "official stops of the green chili cheeseburger trail" I had to stop right? Unfortunately I am unable to eat a whole hearty burger but decided I could cut it in half and see if I can resist the other (sigh, where is a Yelp friend when you need them :) Besides the green chili cheeseburger, Taco Box is not short on unique menu options to include a peanut butter burger (yes that is peanut butter on a beef patty) and pig-in-a-poncho (hot dog chimichanga). I ordered the green chili cheeseburger and a side of Spanish fries with a side of house made salsa. The green chili had the perfect kick to it and the beef was good and the burger was not greasy. Not a pre-made patty but not exactly Angus beef either. The "Spanish" fries were standard tater tots, I envisioned something a bit different like topped with green chili and/or queso but was a nice side for the burger. This might not be the BEST burger evah, nor a place to go out of your way to hit up, but if you find yourself in Clovis, this seems to be a local tradition and has been in business since 1969.

AMAZING!!! Deep Fired Carmel Bacon Twinkie

When you are passing through Clovis, there are a few Iconic Clovis restaurants and Fast Food establishments that you should add to your stop with Taco Box being at the top of this list. It's a local family owned and run establishment that has been around for as long as I can remember. They have everything from tacos, burritos, and green chili cheese burgers to a few fun things to try like their Peanut Butter Bacon Burger and their deep fried Carmel Bacon Twinkie. My parents love their Monterey Steak Burrito and the Chicken Baja Burrito which has grilled chicken, bacon, chipotle ranch dressing, and guacamole. Everything we have eaten here has been delicious and I like how their staff always seems to be having a good time with the customers when we come in. We usually set in the room that has the wall of photos and fun memorabilia items. I love seeing the pictures of the kids sports teams that Taco Box support in the community. Now back to that Deep fried Carmel Bacon Twinkie. This thing is an out of this world sweet and salty treat. It's crispy on the outside with warm gooey deliciousness on the inside, and the bacon with the warm Carmel sauce they drizzle over it will make your taste buds extra happy. Do yourself a favor and add this to your order. If you are a local there's an App called Thanx that my dad uses when he comes here. It's constantly giving him cool freebies and discounts. So, you should download and use that app when you come here for sure.

Nostalgia clouds my impartiality, but that salsa is great! I usually keep it simple: their tacos and burritos but they don't disappoint.

Pricey but it's good. Would of given 5 stars but the price and food don't match. And you may or may not get good service.

After a long day driving across TX, the last thing we wanted to do when we stopped in Clovis for…read morethe night was to order takeout. We YELPed restaurants, and one of our other favorites in town was closed, so we took a chance on the Cotton Patch Cafe. They were open for dine-in, and the whole experience was absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent. Our server, Hope, did a great job meeting all our needs -- including a large print menu (during COVID, when everything has to be wiped down again...), and she was as accommodating and pleasant as can be. The food was off the page. We both ordered burgers, one Nachadoches, and one traditional with cheese. We got sides of fries and onion rings. Normally, we don't eat the buns, but these were magnificent, not your run-of-the-mill hamburger buns! The burgers were juicy and tender, and the toppings as fresh and tasty as could be. The onion rings were HUGE, and perfectly breaded and fried, and there was a slight sweetness to them that was delightful. The french fries were nicely cut, but could have used a bit more time in the fryer to get just a little crispier. Not everything can be perfect, right? Next time we come through Clovis, we'll be back. And to the owners, thanks for that message of hope on the windows: Faith Over Fear!

Waited 30 minutes got back to hotel and was missing the homemade ranch dressing and the butter cake dessert that I ordered and paid for. My order gets messed up at every one of these locations - it happened recently in round rock Texas in Austin and on the first time when they messed up the order I had tipped . when I went for the makeup order I didn't tip. Tonight here in Clovis New Mexico I also didn't tip. It doesn't seem to make any difference, the kids just don't care! The food sure is good but I'm waiting for Mike the manager to deliver the missing items because I didn't want to go back out and I'm so upset I'm going to start always auditing this place because I noticed they twist the bag shut every time..."ugh, don't close it up; let's go through everything on the receipt first?" it gets better so the phone number I called on the receipt is actually for a location in Dallas Texas? Support Mike the manager I got a call saying they were down in the lobby and there was no one there. The front desk lady help me look at the actual phone number for the Clovis Location and sure enough the receipt print the wrong phone number. So thanks for trying Mike in Frisco Texas; but the store I had the order feck up From is in Clovis New Mexico
