I only wish they had a greater variety of toppings so that we could make this a weekly indulgence, but after a couple of months of doing so, we'd been through the menu too many times. Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. It was one of the best pizzas we've had in quite a while. We ordered the special, chicken Parm. Just enough char on the crust to crisp the crust. If you're hungry though, you better order two pies. They only have one size, I'm guessing it was a 10 inch. Highly recommended. For the area, this is the best pizza around. Clovis has very little to offer when it comes to a good Za, but Red Stone is the place to go to get a good slice at a reasonable price. They hand toss all the dough as you order. They serve personal pies. The jalapeño popper za is a good option if you're looking for a non-traditional route. With a cream cheese base, bacon, and sliced jalapeños, it's my wife's go to option. A simple pepperoni pie is my favorite for a traditional flavor profile. read more

What person doesn't love pizza? A weird dough....... okay that one was cheesy. But red stone is a decent Clovis pizza joint that outshines a lot of the local fast food joints and even some of the local Joints, when it comes to the meat and cheese of things. Parking wise you won't be searching too long to find a parking spot. This small little truck is firmly located across from the rock climbing gym and in a small parking lot. If anything you'll probably have a harder time finding out about this place if not from word of mouth or the yelp savvy people who use this wonderful app. Service here is nice and friendly. There is no pressure to tip but it's always nice too, and they gladly took the time to explain the special they had. Additionally when I asked them to take a photo of the wood oven they gladly did so with a smile :) pizzas come out fast due to the quantity of heat coming from the oven and if you wanted a crispy pizza I bet they would be glad to help you with your desires. Food wise this place is decent. They do about 5 different pizzas and they also have specials. So if it's not listed it's always good to ask. They range in price from $7-$12 which isn't bad for a 11 inch pie. I opted for the bbq bacon chicken pizza and the go to pepperoni. The bbq chicken pizza was decent. The bbq sauce had a nice little zesty bite and wasn't overly Smokey. As far as toppings where concerned you get a nice little mix of bacon and chicken in each slice. I was expecting some onions on top California pizza kitchen style for the west coasters in the crowd but I guess you'll just have to get it as an extra topping. Overall a solid choice. Nothing too mind blowing but just a good chicken pizza. As far as the pepperoni pizza it was actually my favorite of the two. You get nice big thin sliced pieces of pepperoni over the over a bed of meat and cheese letting the true flavor of the pizza come through. I was surprised by how fragrant the pepperoni was in terms of taste it tasted like a solid quality ingredient. As far as sauce goes it isn't overly sweet or spiced like some fast food chains and taste more genuine then your big name brands. I was pleasantly surprised by the crust. Normally I'm not a huge crust person but this crust rose to the occasion ;). It reminded me almost of a breadstick which is pretty light and airy and when you bit into it naturally gave away with little give. One of the things I was expecting was a bit of smokiness from the wood oven. It isn't very present during the meat and cheese layer. But once you get into the crust you have little reminder there telling you this isn't a fast food pizza. One of the biggest joys of ordering pizza is trying the next days pizza leftovers. And this pizza tasted even better cooled down. I enjoy how the coldnesss tends to subdue flavors and change textures. The bbq chicken pizza was a great example of this, when the sauce become more mild tasting and the cheese gave a denser bite. Overall I'm glad to see this place in a town like Clovis. It's small and independent and tries to the break the mold and monotony of the two fast food pizza chains in town with a little hipster and care. To those coming from a larger city this place may be just a normal pie. But to those buckling down in the land of Clovis this place represents a little taste of what lies outside. It reminds people of what pizza should taste without all the fuss of the bigger chains. It's definitely cool to see them make your pie and to bring it back home or just eat it in the car from a no name box. It's made by genuine people who are making their food because they believe in it. For those looking for some aesthetic pizza this one does do the cheese stretch.
