Nicely decorated and spacious restaurant with plenty of tables and booths. The food was a little disappointment. My pastor tacos were dry and difficult to eat my experience with Pastor tacos in the past has been very juicy and full of flavor that was not the case today at this restaurant. My dining companion had an enchilada plate and said it was average and not much flavor Super friendly folks and average food. I visited with a friend who lives in Clovis and he raved about the food, so I may have just made a poor selection. He raved about the.Bierra de Chivo and the torta ahogada - so I may have to come back next time I'm in the area and try those dishes because there are so many favorable reviews.

We were greeted by a hostess and several other employees and were seated right away. They brought chips (the homemade thick kind) and salsa (a chunky medium to hot). That type of chip is not our favorite and they lacked salt. The waitress (Mayra) was attentive and gave us time to order. Wife ordered the Texas Plate (#11) with cheese enchiladas. I ordered the Steak Ranchero (#7). We ordered the quesadilla (steak) platter for the kids to share. All the food was delicious with the exception of the flour tortillas that came with the meals (they seemed to be store bought mission tortillas rather than homemade flour ones we would prefer). They had a green salsa and what I think was a chipotle salsa. Both were good but the green (my favorite) was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. As with most restaurants these days there were TVs everywhere that distracted the kids, but that's not the restaurant's fault. The three meals (water to drink) plus a generous tip was just shy of $48. Definitely recommend!!

I have eaten at and enjoyed the Clovis location, but am currently in a motel in Portales. I should have driven up to Clovis. I ordered a Juanito's Deluxe. Chile rellano, taco, enchilada, chalupa, beans, rice and grande sopapillo. I asked for green sauce on the side, not poured over. It was provided correctly. Back at the motel, I opened the bag containing my dinner. I was provided a bag of chips and a cup of salsa that neither asked for nor wanted. HOWEVER. My Granda Sopapilla was missing. As were eating utensils and napkins. I called and was told I could come back for the sopapillo. Twice. I am not leaving my motel and driving back to rectify your mistake. The bean chalupa was good, the taco was so-so as the meat was dry and tasteless. As I don't choose to eat the rest with my fingers, I can't judge their taste. *** When paying, I would have preferred not to be asked if I wanted to leave a tip. Please just give the customer either the credit card machine or the receipt and let us discretely provide a tip. The 3 workers and the customer in line behind me do not have a need to know.

He came by offering a dessert that I didn't want, and had to take back the check to correct the dessert he already charged me for. WTF? He offered it like it was free... I can't imagine how many people this happens to, especially people with kids. High pressure sales in a restaurant? When you've already put it on the bill but offer it like it's free? No.

Every time I visit Tucumcari, I eat at Dells, which is very good. But this time I'm trying…read moresomething different. I decided to try La Cita. I'm glad I did! I visited on a Monday evening, around 5pm. That's usually the time us old folks eat. I had no issue getting a table. Promptly seated, I ordered a beer and my dinner. The menu is a good mix, something for everyone. I ordered the Chili Rellenos. Of course I ordered that. Hey, when in Rome..... My meal was served quick and hot. Waiting a minute to cool was definitely in the cards. No problem, I had my beer, salsa and chips to occupy me while the steam settled. After a bit, I dug in. First fork was the rice. Oh, was that rice ever good! The only problem was that there wasn't enough. I suggest that you order a side of that glorious grain. Fantastic! The refried beans, well, were ok, but just ok. The Hatch greenies, as you'd expect, were outstanding and very flavorful. I ordered them Christmas style, with green and red sauce. Both of those condiments were tasty, but of the two, the green sauce stood out. Boy did it ever. I'll be dreaming of that sauce later tonight. Hopefully my girlfriend doesn't pop into the picture.....OR, maybe she should! LoL, now that would be a dream! Don't worry about parking, as there is more than ample. You can park in the front, the back, either side, and if you're driving a big rig, pulling a trailer, or driving a tank, they've got you covered. Across the street is special parking for those vehicles. More parking outside than tables inside. Pay La Cita a visit for a romantic dinner, or as I did, by yourself....my dream trend may have helped with that. Hey, I may be old, but certainly not dead! Quick Tip: I parked in the back, and when leaving, I took the dirt alley. It was a fun adventure. I'd suggest that you do it during daylight hours though. You never know who you'll run into, or for that matter, over! Let's hope it isn't Skinny Pete or Badger.

Based off of the other Yelp reviews, I had high hopes, but unfortunately, we were let down by this place. We ordered online and ordered multiple different dishes in order to try them out. Here are the dishes that I got: Brisket Burrito: The meat was dried out and tasted several days old and reheated. The burrito also didn't seem to have the pan fried potatoes that were supposed to be in it. Tacos al Carbon: From the first bite I knew I wasn't going to eat these; the steak tasted weird, with a weird texture, and seemed old. Enchilladas: I got them with beef & green sauce; the beef had a decent flavor and texture. Stuffed Sopapilla: The sopapilla itself had a good comfort food type of taste and texture. I got it with beef & green sauce. The beef had a decent flavor and texture. As for the sides--the Mexican rice just tasted like salt, and the beans were bland and flavorless. If you're looking for fresh, yummy Mexican food--don't waste your money on this place. I have no idea how it has so many good Yelp reviews.
