He was great at taking care of my injured shoulder. Great communication and a good doctor.

I used urgent care this afternoon when I could not get an appointment with a medical provider…read moretoday. I had not been able to take time away from work to be seen after a respiratory infection and wanted to make certain I did not need medicine for persistent coughing and possible long-term infection even though most of the symptoms had been reduced. Stopping by for a short visit is an easy way to prevent a really bad outcome, was my thinking. I was very wrong for swinging by this location. 1. During patient interview, I was not being listened to, instead they were trying to find anything they could possibly charge my insurance for. I told them my concerns, they were ignored for everything else under the sun. 2. They were completely incompetent. They tried to take my blood on my right arm, and after several attempts, when I told them that is incredibly painful stop, the first attempt ended. Then they attempted to tell me how to reposition myself, it made no sense. I asked the nurse to sit down and demonstrate, she could not. Then she moved a bunch of furniture around, and she couldn't figure out how to get to my left arm. I was then repositioned on the bed, then off the bed, and finally with my arm over the bed while sitting while I waited a truly uncomfortable long time for the nurse to find my vein(which has never been a problem before and is clearly visible!). I told her I wasnt comfortable with her continuing, and she told me she was going to take blood from the top of my hand. I told her I did not have confidence in her to continue at this time. I repeatedly mentioned I could drink water and come back tomorrow when I havent eaten, but I have no interest in continuing. 3. I was threatened with a report on file for refusing a doctor's treatment if I didn't allow them to do an EKG, which I was not on board for, when they hadn't tried to even listen to my heartbeat, and I wasn't concerned or requesting this to be done. Rather than have some note to my file, I let them try. The operative word is try. After a painfully long time it became apparent, they had no idea what they were doing, while I was laying there waiting for this hellish experience to end with the same incompetent nurse that was unable to take my blood. 4. I eventually had enough and told them I would sign the form, I am leaving. Signed the form with Patient has no confidence in the care provided. I was repeatedly challenged upon leaving. The whole experience was such a violation, at no point was health care being provided. They were trying to bill my insurance for everything they could. I am out the money for care, and my arm 12 hours later is still very sore from whatever debacle this was. I went in for a pretty basic preventative care at the tail end of being sick. I left feeling violated and dirty from the experience....and don't forget, my arm still hurts. I WOULD LOOK INTO THIS PLACE FOR HEALTH CARE FRAUD, AND AS A PATIENT RUN TO ANY OTHER PROVIDER, ANY OTHER AT ALL!!!!!

Don't trust just bad reviews most people don't take time to write good ones. I recommend going here and early morning is a great time to go. Huge thanks to all the staff for helping me and being so nice!

This review is for the Pediatrics clinic only. I've never utilized any of the other services, so…read morethe non-pediatric side of things may be better. In short, not worth it. Find another pediatrician unless you have the patience of a saint, the arguing skills of an attorney, and time to waste hashing it out with these folks. Crazy. My daughter's pediatrician at this clinic is Dr. Rebecca Kim, who is a lovely and competent practitioner. However, I unfortunately cannot say the same thing about her staff, who are woefully incompetent, although they may be nice people. It's difficult to tell through the fog of rage that they induce. First they wouldn't see my daughter because her father (my husband, with whom we live- together) brought her to the appointment. When scheduling the appointment I specifically asked if it would be ok for him to bring the baby instead of me, as I would be working. No problem, they said. So he gets to the appointment aaaannnd....big problem. Apparently it wasn't fine, and they needed a permission slip for her father to bring her to the appointment. I wrote one for the next appointment, and requested that they put it in my daughter's chart. At the following appointment (babies have a LOT of doctor visits), the letter had mysteriously disappeared. I wrote a second letter, again requesting that they put it in her chart. In the meantime, my job switched insurance providers. Because the new insurance had not given the employees individual ID numbers during the processing period, they issued a form letter with the employer group ID number and a very clear explanation that while each employee and dependents (if family coverage) did not have an individual number, the letter could be used as proof of insurance with $xx as co-pay for the various types of appointments. Anticipating an issue (because there is ALWAYS an issue there), I had stapled out old provider's insurance card and an quick reference card with my employer's information and various insurance information so that they could see that not only were my husband and child covered, but also could match the employer names on each card. Apparently, that wasn't going to work for them. I had the front desk employee speak to my HR rep, and she (front office employee) was then asked to contact our insurance broker. After contacting the insurance broker and leaving a voicemail, she called me back and said that they would not be able to see my daughter through insurance, but could put it in the system as private pay. No thank you. We had to reschedule (don't know how long it may take to find a new pediatrician), and as always, I end my interaction with this clinic with a sense of frustration and anger. Although Dr. Kim is good, the aggravation of dealing with the office crazy is not enough to continue to use this clinic. Although we live in Lockhart, and this is the only pediatrician in town, we will go to someone in San Marcos or in Austin rather than deal with the foolishness at the Seton Lockhart clinic. What a waste.
