The very best PCP you can get. Dr Stiegler was my PCP years before I had a back injury at work. In those times your PCP Doctor would manage your care with a WC claim. The good old days when WC didn't just try to give you Drugs to dull the pain from one of the WC Doctors. Dr Stiegler referred me to a great PT, and got me back to full use of my back without severe pain. I managed to work for another 15 years until retirement age, My back is manageable today. As good as it could be with a degenerative disc. No surgeries even today. I thank God I had a excellent caring Doctor, and it happened before WC got screwed up by the State. I had to move my Mom down to Austin in the 1990's and Doctor Stiegler was her Doctor for 20 years until she passed at 100 years old. Dr. Stiegler cared for her wonderfully. Dr. Ashley Stiegler is the most conscientious primary doctor I've ever known. She goes above and beyond how most doctors treat patients. She has a great bedside manner, listens to what I have to say, and offers great advice. She researches relevant articles and emails them to her patients. My first physical with her a few months ago was above and beyond anything I expected, certainly much more through than any physical I had ever had. Dr Stiegler's office has expanded to include two more doctors - now totaling four. The wait time for appointments has drastically gone down. She's also moved into a new building which is very spacious. The front desk staff still needs improving. Their bedside manner is rough on a good day. My daughter had to have immediate knee surgery while Dr Stiegler was on maternity leave and Dr Cox took care of us. They were AMAZING. My second daughter was born a week before Thanksgiving. Dr Stiegler gave me her phone number and told me to call her if I needed her even though she was going to visit family for the holiday. I love these people. I wouldn't trust my babies with anyone else!!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Stiegler as my primary care physician for at least a decade now, and she is always phenomenal. She's caring, understanding, respectful, and listens to her patients. Recently I went to a specialist for a prescription, but I was so fed up with that specialist's lack of bedside manner and his office's disorganization that I asked Dr. Stiegler to manage my medication. She was completely understanding to my situation and helped me a great deal. I truly recommend her! read more

Switched my family of 4 to new Dr. office due to this office always being late and terrible communication. On a recent visit (my last ever here) I asked how long the wait was when I checked in. They said 5-10 minutes so I paid my co-pay and sat down. I was on a schedule so15 minutes later I asked again and this time they said the Dr. is behind and will see me in another 30 minutes - 45 minutes after my appt time. I asked they refund my co-pay and they made excuses saying I should just apply it to my next visit - I made it clear there wasn't going to be a next visit. They refunded me after I escalated and I left. Unsympathetic office staff, poor scheduling, terrible communication is just not something I can afford to be inconvenienced by the few times I need to see a Dr when there are so many others out there that will work to earn my business. Dr. Stielger is a good Dr. but the chaos that surrounds her makes it a 2 star experience. read more

I guess I should preface this by saying that Dr. Stiegler is very nice and personable and I'm sure she's a very good doctor. My first impression of her was that I liked her very much. I had her as my primary care physician, but changed to another doctor because of my experience in her office. I went in because I was sick with Salmonella. I had called the nurse line a day or two prior to coming in and they told me to take an over the counter medication that Dr. Stiegler later informed me that you are not supposed to take with a fever. Okay so that was scary I took a lot of it already while I had a fever at the nurse's recommendation. Second, I had to give a, "ahem", sample and the nurse who was supposed to be giving me instructions was making a scene about how grossed out she was. I'm sitting there thinking, "You're a nurse! If you can't deal with this, maybe you should seek out another line of work." So I already felt like crap because I was sick so that didn't help. My second gripe is that Dr. Stiegler said it was unlikely that I actually had salmonella, but when my tests came back positive, she left me an urgent message on my cell phone at 10:30 p.m. on a Sunday night not saying exactly what was so urgent, just that I needed to call her right away. Then neither she, nor the nurse, could be reached until about 3:00 p.m. the next day. While I was trying to call them all day however I learned from their voicemail recording that, had I needed a referral, there would be a two week waiting period. WHAT?!? If I need a referral, chances are I need it today. Or at the very least tomorrow. Not in two weeks. When I finally got someone on the phone to find out what was so urgent (keep in mind, I have fully recovered at this point) it turns out that they were just calling to tell me that my test came back positive for Salmonella (surprise, surprise) and they just wanted to make sure I was ok/feeling better since the medication they gave me wasn't really for Salmonella and I guess they knew that they screwed up and wanted to make sure I wasn't upset about it. The bottom line is that I don't have to go to the doctor very often, but the one time I did go was a fairly unpleasant experience. So when the window rolled around for me to change my primary care provider I went ahead and did it. Maybe other people have had better luck. I also have to add because I just remembered this part that while I was in the waiting room I noticed one of the office employees was keeping her dog behind the counter. Last time I checked, pets aren't supposed to be kept in a supposedly sanitary medical facility. read more

Dr. Steigler is a compassionate and well-informed physician who takes as much time as is needed with her patients. She is not only caring, but very likable as well. I feel fortunate that Dr. Steigler was willing to take me on as her patient. read more

Dr. Stiegler and Dr. Cox are both two exceptionally well-trained physicians with exceptional "clinical" skills. This means they are really good at "diagnosing" medical issues and disease. Unfortunately there are many good doctors but many of them are not so great as clinicians, and miss important diagnosis. Dr. Stiegler graduated from Southwestern Medical School (UT Health Science System). I am very familiar with that medical school because my father taught medicine there for almost 50 years and he was an exceptional clinician, researcher, and very demanding and tough professor. UT Southwestern Medical School has several Nobel Prize recipients and is recognized internationally as one of the best medical schools in the world. Dr. Stiegler is not only an exceptional physician but a nice person who is "old-school"- she treats every patient with dignity and respect. I am an attorney who has handled hundreds of personal injury cases and I am also a volunteer First Responder EMT and my wife is a nurse- she is also a patient of Dr. Stiegler. We both love her and trust her with our most important asset- our health!! read more

Dr. Stiegler has been my primary care doc for about 5 years and has been wonderful to work with. She takes a very conservative approach to medicine, e.g. try Neti-pot for allergies; make sure to use your low back, etc. She is open to complimentary approaches like acupuncture (seemed to encourage it rather than pooh-pooh like other docs I've seen.) Getting an appointment within the day or two hasn't been a problem. I'm surprised to see other reviews regarding long waits; with one exception during flu season a few years back, I've never waited more than 10 minutes. The office is completely computerized with Dr. Stiegler taking notes on her tablet; all prescriptions are transferred electronically to your pharmacy by her personally. If had to come up with one complaint, I suppose it would be nice to have the office staff look up and smile when you check in. They seem a tad put out by being at work. However the nurses are excellent: friendly and efficient. Overall, I am very happy with the care I've received from Dr. Stiegler. She is easy to talk to, a very good listener and I trust her advice. read more

Dr. Stiegler was great. I have no problems with her and enjoyed the actual visit part as much as one can at a doctor. She was nice, she listened, she answered my questions, and she didn't rush me although I know she was trying to get caught up since she was behind schedule. My complaint is with the scheduling and whatever person is in charge of putting that many appointments in a day. I realize you don't want to waste money but when you overbook, you lose patients. I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes in the waiting room before seeing the doctor. The girls at the front desk were pleasant enough but I don't think there should have been that many appointments that morning. And apparently, it's not just that morning. I heard a guy complaining about how he wanted the earliest appointment for his follow up since every time he comes in he waits forever. If they cut back on booking so many people, it would be much more pleasant, not rushed, better quality and better experience and more repeat business. I had attended a recent appointment with my 85 year old Mother with Dr. Stiegler hoping she would back me up about her driving after her nurse had told me she would on the phone. The nurse even said that my Mother seemed confused at her recent appointments. Thanks Dr. Stiegler for saying my Mother could drive. You sh old know your patients better than that. read more

Went in for lump on hip was told no to worry about it that is was just a fatty lump and if it changed size to come back in. When I came back in again I was told it was a fatty lump again and they reassured me it was nothing, never trying to find a cause or offering any explanation or any kind of help! I was still worried about it because it was causing a numbness in my leg so again made another appointment this time I felt like they were getting annoyed with me. While I was there also complained of cold and a pain in my rib cage which they also brushed off, about a week passed and I was at home when I coughed and felt a pop inside my ribcage, not knowing what that was I went to the ER! The ER asked me to do a follow up with my family dr. when I went in I was told there was no reason for me to of gone to the ER! Finally having enough with this quack I went to another dr for a different opinion. This dr said oh that's an infection try these antibiotics so after about a week of the antibiotics the so called fatty lump was gone!! Amazing how I was miss diagnosed twice for two different things. After receiving a bill I then called Ashley Steigler's office to inform them that they miss diagnosed me 3 times and that if they did their job the first time that I wouldn't have been stuck paying out of my pocket! I feel like if they would have done something about the pain in my ribcage I wouldn't have ever needed to go to the ER waisting my insurance benefits that would have covered the other office visit that I'm stuck paying.... Nightmare visit. If you want a good Doctor office experience forget about this office. I made an appointment because I was in serious pain and Dr Steigler had been recommended. I even drove across town fo this doctor. However, after an hour in the wait room seeing everyone in the room be taken care of I decided to leave. It was a good thing because at that time they told me she was really busy. Really, then WHY make appointments and WHY not communicate to those waiting?? I would rather not have to deal with that each time I have an appointment. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and go to another doctor or wait to see if the doctor's will get the message and make a change to the office staff. read more

Dr. Stiegler has been my physician ever since I moved to Austin 6 years ago. I have never had a wait problem with the office. Dr. Stiegler has always been very thorough, listens to me and explains all test findings and medications so I can understand. She is caring, patient and follows through on contacting me after any testing. read more

Unfortunately, I have had two similar experiences with this doctor and her office staff. The first was with my husband who was experiencing enormous pain. We had made an appt and after half an hour of waiting past the appointed time, we went to the emergency room. Three days later, my husband was operated on for colon cancer. Then, just today, I made an appointment to address a severe pain in my side. I am a business owner and am a critical part of my business team. I made an appointment with the doctor, and made arrangements for my shift to be covered for the appt. I waited for a little more than half hour after my scheduled time, only to be told that it would be at least another 45 minutes before I could be seen. I feel that, as a patient, mine and my family's well being should be as big a concern to my doctor as it is to me. I am completely aware that emergencies arise, and that unforeseen incidents happen, but my experience has been one of consistent frustration and a feeling of indifference not just from the doctor, but her office staff as well. Her intentions may be good, but her service leaves much to be desired. read more

I went in to see Dr. Stiegler three days ago(Monday). She prescribed two medications for me to take. One of the medications caused me to experience dizziness and nausea. On Wed.I called in to request that Dr. Stiegler prescribe a different medication. I was transferred to the nurse station with no success. The phone continued to ring and ring. I ended up calling back and the person answering the phone instructed me go out onto the website and forward a message in which I did. The following morning(thurs) the nurse received instruc. from dr. stiegler to call in a prescription for me which never happened. I ended up calling around 2pm (Thur)to talk to Dr. Stiegler about my request - she was gone for the day, however, after waiting 20 min to speak a nurse, hanging up and calling back, i requested to speak with the ofc manager. She transferred me to the nurse, only to be asked, "Now what problems are you having?" Unbelieveable. Nice doctor, unprofessional staff. read more
