Last time this year I was in the emergency room to hear a dr. telling me that I would need my arm amputated due to a horrible accident. Imagine waking up in the emergency room frightened & flat on your back... a group of doctors and nurses huddled over you with grim faces... and hearing the words amputation... thus ending my career as a painter. I call him my "Angel". Dr. Rayham... he was on his way home to have dinner with his wife. As he passed through the emergency room he heard the words amputation- he walked over read my chart & looked at my xrays. Like a scene in a movie he parted the crowd with confidence and authority and said Mr Abramo "I can save your arm, but we need to do the surgery now!" I agreed and was prepped for surgery... I was in the hospital for about 2 months recovering and then home with therapy. Most importantly I am so pleased to say I have use of my arm, hand and fingers. So years ago my earlobe was pierced way to low and it ended up being damaged. Of course I came to google to see where I can finally get it repaired. I then came across Dr. Rayham, I loved the before and after photos and came to the conclusion of having him do my procedure. Literally the best decision I made! My family will be forever grateful that Dr. Rayham happened to be present at the hospital when my 21 year old daughter was brought to the emergency room after falling and splitting her chin right down to the bone. I didn't have the luxury of a referral to Dr. Rayham. He treated my daughter in the ER of Methodist Hospital last month, after she smacked her head on the sidewalk. True, suturing a facial laceration is not the most sophisticated procedure a plastic/reconstructive surgeon is called on to do. Still, I was impressed by his care and attention to detail. He also put an anxious patient and parents at ease. Our daughter is healing well, and should have minimal scarring. His office is well-run, and we were seen postop on time. Last week I had an accident at the shop that left me with an ugly laceration on the side of my nose very close to my eye. Thank god is wasn't any worse..... I was taken to Richmond University Hospital and was treated by Dr.Rayham. Long story short he took great care of me. I wound up with 12 stitches that were painless. I feel very lucky that Dr. Rayham was the surgeon on call when I needed an emergency surgery on my hand. I was visiting New York on my honeymoon, shopping in a Brooklyn boutique, when I fell through a hole in the store floor where someone had left a cellar door open and unmarked. I ended up with three broken fingers and a deep laceration across the back of my hand, nearly severing the tendons to the fingers. Dr. Rayham repaired the tendons, pinned the broken fingers and sutured the jagged laceration. That was three months ago. Due to Dr. Rayham's skill, all of my fingers have set beautifully, The tendons are fully repaired and, with further hand therapy, I expect to have full use of my hand. Amazingly, the scar from that ugly, jagged laceration is barely noticeable - I guess that is one of the benefits of having a plastic surgeon repair one's hand! In addition to his medical skills, I greatly appreciate Dr. Rayham's demeanor. I felt that he truly cared about my well-being. This review is way overdue. If I could give 10 stars I would! My 2 year old daughter tripped and fell while holding a toy in January. We rushed her to Methodist and happened to meet Dr Rayham. He has an amazing bedside manner and did his best to try to calm my daughter. Dr Rayham did an incredible job stitching up her split eyebrow and a cut across her forehead, despite her kicking and screaming (with both of her parents holding her down). It was as if the doctor barely noticed, as he closed up a frightening looking wound with ease. Once it was over, even my daughter was impressed. We went to his very clean and welcoming office a week later to remove the stitches and could already see the progress. It is now September and the scar is minimal! Her forehead cut is completely gone and she has a slight scar in her eyebrow that we believe will continue to fade with time/as her eyebrow hair continues to grow back. I can't say enough good things about this doctor. I'm so thankful he happened to be in the ER that day! If I ever need a plastic surgeon again, I will definitely go to him!! I highly recommend him! I saw doctor Rayham as an emergency visit to remove a cyst. The staff helped me by letting me come right away and the doctor evaluated me as soon as I showed up. He is very informative and I found comfort in speaking with him. He is very knowledgeable of his work and he's also gentle. He tries to make you as comfortable as possible even in the worst of pains. He calls and texts regularly to check on how I'm feeling and make sure I know how to care for the scar.
