I chose Roman Malakov among the many diamond jewelers on 47th Street because of their outstanding reputation, seriousness, and the exceptional quality of their pieces. From the very beginning, I felt confident that I was in the best hands. I was personally assisted by Michael Malakov, whose customer service is truly exceptional. After returning to Atlanta, I continued working directly with him to order the diamond studs I had been dreaming of--specific carat size, GIA certification, design details, and all my preferences. Michael guided me through the entire process with professionalism, honesty, and remarkable attention to detail. Today my diamond studs arrived via FedEx, impeccably packaged and absolutely stunning. I am beyond happy--not only with the beauty and quality of the diamonds, but also with the outstanding service and seriousness shown throughout the entire experience. I highly recommend Roman Malakov to anyone seeking world-class jewelry and a flawless buying process. Laura Zabala read more

For ~15 years, I've had a pair of diamond "huggie" hoop earrings that I rarely take out. While they're not super high end, they have sentimental value. Image my distress then, when one evening I came home and discovered I'd lost one. I was heartbroken. I filed a claim with my renter's insurance and the adjuster suggested I contact a jeweler to see if they could custom make a match to the remaining earring. I went to the American Gem Society website and saw Roman Malakov Diamonds listed -- their website was full of jewelry that was far more expensive than my earrings. I called them, explained my situation, and asked whether they could give me an estimate to provide my insurance company. The woman I spoke with was so nice and put me at ease. A few days later I took my remaining earring to the store, where I met with Michael. He examined it and took measurements, and a few days later provided me with a quote for a custom match, which I sent to the insurance company. The adjuster called me a few days later to say that the price quoted was actually slightly less than a comparable pair he'd found on Macy*s website, so my claim was approved in full! The adjuster mentioned that he'd called Michael with additional questions about the diamonds and he was impressed with how quickly Michael responded. I took my earring back to Michael so that the custom match could be made. He was very patient with all my questions and explained that the new earring would be very, very close but not exactly the same - which I understood. I had to leave my earring with him so they could make the match. It took about seven weeks, but it was worth the wait. When Michael told me it was ready, I tried to keep my expectations low -- like they would probably be "close enough," but not perfect - so I wouldn't be disappointed. When he brought them out I couldn't have been happier. I looked at them both and correctly guessed which earring was the original (based on a few differences that are mostly only visible when looking at the back of hoop). But when looking at them in my ears, I think they look essentially identical. He told me he chose the diamonds himself to match them (the 4 Cs) as closely as possible to the original. He also polished, steam cleaned, and tightened the hinge on the original earring. Even though my earrings cost a fraction of the jewelry they sell there, I was never made to feel like it was beneath them to work on my earring. I'm so pleased with how the custom earring turned out that I'm having them make a pair of earrings for me using gems from a couple of rings I have that I no longer wear. I definitely recommend them if you need a custom piece of jewelry. read more

It was my birthday weekend and my favorite adornment was found here. Roman assisted us with finding a beautiful diamond heart necklace. They were very kind, professional and easy to work with. He also gave us a birthday dinner recommendation. Told us if we have any issues getting in, he would assist by making a phone call. Would recommend them and return for more pieces in the future. read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my NEW fiancé, with his super busy and exhausting schedule, purchasing this ring was the easiest thing he had to do. After strolling down the diamond district, Roman Malakov caught his attention and it was basically a done deal. In 45min, he described exactly what he wanted and Roman Malakov created it for him. It was a stress free and enjoyable experience, he couldn't have been any happier to enter Roman Malakov store that day. Roman was attentive, patient and he saw the vision and created it beautifully. And the price was exactly right! I was so impressed with the end result, it's literally the most beautiful ring and made exactly for me. I cannot believe my NEW fiancé picked this ring out without much of any direction. This ring is exactly what I didn't know I wanted. I absolutely love love love it. I'm so happy that it was a stress free experience, thank you Roman Malakov. I believe that anything that stresses you out, isn't meant to be. I'm so happy that this ring was meant just for me. read more

Prior to my engagement my boyfriend and I went to about half a dozen jewelers to explore and discuss exactly what we wanted. As soon as we left Roman Malakov, my boyfriend and I knew we met the people we wanted to work with. After figuring out the exact shape, size, color, and specs of the ring we wanted, we still shopped around various jewelers from NY to Belgium, and were beyond pleased with the selection and pricing that only RMD offered. Michael was beyond patient with my ever changing preferences and was accommodating with my schedule. His CADs are beautiful and the best part of the process was the lack of pressure we felt along the way. We had a lovely and stress free process and cannot recommend them highly enough to our friends (and internet strangers)! read more

This is by far the best jeweler that I have ever dealt with. I wanted to sell my wedding ring and some other jewelry after my divorce and they gave me the most fair and generous offers. They made a pair of earrings out of an antique jade Chinese button that other jewelers said could not be done, and the earrings are beautiful! They are honest and really listen to the customer. Their work is beyond compare. I have referred them to friends who also had great experiences. read more

My husband and I scoured all of NYC diamond district to find the perfect sapphire ring for our 20th anniversary. It was overwhelming to say the least. When we walked into Roman Malakov we found ourselves in a warm and no pressure environment with gorgeous jewelry. I didn't see exactly what I wanted and was so nervous to make a ring from scratch given the investment here. I worked with Boris and he was a great partner along the entire journey. He was patient and informative and worked with us to create exactly what I thought I wanted. He expedited the ring during the holidays because I wanted it for my birthday. When I got the ring, although it was exactly as I designed, it just wasn't it. I wanted to love it but it just wasn't me. When I called Boris he was extremely understanding and accommodating. I drove in and spent another hour redesigning the ring with Boris, he provided many examples and we ultimately landed on a design that when I got was absolutely gorgeous and perfect. This experience can be very daunting especially when creating a ring from scratch. Boris was with us every step of the way with great communication and ultimately delivered a high quality piece of beautiful jewelry with exquisite craftsmanship. I highly recommend this shop for all your jewelry dreams! read more

My fiancé and I did a ton of research on diamond stores in SF and NYC with a specific design in mind for my engagement ring. We went to 5+ jewelers, some of the high-end brand names and some local shops. We were delighted to work with Meir and find Roman Malakov. We were scared of getting judged for our age, as well as budget but Meir was the only one that heard and understood what we wanted, and designed the perfect ring with our preferences in mind. We enjoyed the experience so much, we decided to have our wedding bands designed there as well! I also bought a beautiful emerald necklace from here. Couldn't be happier with the experience and outcome. They will always be our favorite jeweler and will have our lasting business. read more

I flew to New York from Chicago for 3 days with the intention of exploring the diamond district and all of the Instagram jewelers that I have followed. After day 1 I was exhausted and felt like the jewelers weren't listening to what I wanted, and I was frustrated. In my notebook I had 5 places; prices for diamonds, and I rated the jewelers. Day 2 when I entered the diamond district I stopped in Roman Malakov after it not being on my initial list. Meir sat with me for 45 minutes, and listened to what i wanted. When I left to look at other places I knew that I wanted to work with him; if we could meet on pricing. When it came to decision time we met in the middle on pricing; and that was fine with me because I knew he'd execute my vision. Long story short in front of 20,000 people at the Golden State Warriors game in San Francisco I presented this masterpiece of a ring to a standing ovation. Definitely visit them, and even if you can get better pricing that doesn't mean you'll get a better piece of jewelry. read more

After visiting 4 high end jewelers such as Cartier and Tiffanys we decided to visit the diamond district in NYC. I didn't want to get all caught up in the Tiffany moment. Which I will admit was pretty glorious. I'm glad that I was smart enough to leave and continue shopping. I was impressed with the selection at Roman Malakov which is what lured me in and made me ultimately purchase with them. We were greeted nicely and asked what we were looking for. Which in my case Was a wedding band. I lost mine several yrs ago. Something that has tormented me for years. My husband wanted to replace it for our 15th year anniversary. The staff was friendly and patient while I tried many rings on and took my time. Also FYI my engagement ring from a prior resizing job was in pretty bad shape and they offered to fix it with the purchase of the new band. That made it even better. I was allowed to go with my ring and WATCH them fix it. I never lost sight of it during the repair process. His name I believe was Tony. It took him over an hour and he left it like new. I was very emotional about how beautiful of a job he did. His craft was true art. For this I am forever grateful. Going back to the band after choosing the band I fell in love with they offered to FED EX to me to save on tax since I lived out of state. I was hesitant to do that because it was a lot of money for me and obviously the risk. However I decided to do it as the savings were in the hundreds. They packaged in front of me and sealed it with my signature. The fed ex package arrived exactly when he said it would along with the grading report certificate. When I opened the package I knew I had made the right choice. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's even nicer than I remembered. It was meant for me. I don't mean to get emotional on a Yelp review but I'm so happy and satisfied. Thank you for such a beautiful job on my engagement ring and thank you for your service. It's just so beautiful. read more

They did a wonderful job with my bracelet, a tennis bracelet with six carats. Thank you very much to the family.

This place has the top customer service. Michael was a great listener and catered service exactly to our needs. We wouldn't have our dream ring without him. I cant say enough good things about Roman Malakov Diamonds. I was looking for an engagement ring, and the task looked overwhelming, until I got in touch with Michael Malakov, who was very diligent and helpful, and took the time to help me design the engagement ring that I was looking for. Boris is truly the best of the best. Both my fiance and my cousin recently purchased engagement rings from him, and he is the most honest and patient person we have ever dealt with. We have purchased two pieces from Michael at Malakov Diamonds and have been very happy with each. The first was a set of earrings they had in store. That were well designed and hand picked stones that were much better than their GIA rating. We had been tempted to go down the online route thinking we could get a better value, but were very happy with our decision to work with Michael in the end. So much so that we went back for a custom ring, which totally blew away our expectations. Every step was prompt and professional, even during the pandemic where the entire process was managed over FaceTime. My (now) fiancé and I visited every store in the diamond district (and Tiffany's) looking at loose diamonds and trying on different settings. We found my dream center stone at Roman Malakov and worked with Boris to design the setting for my engagement ring. All of the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating as we came in several times throughout the process. Boris is very talented and I knew instantly I could trust him to translate my ideas and vision into an amazing ring. He sketched out the design and dove into the details with us to ensure it would be exactly what we wanted, perfect... And it is! Shopping for an engagement ring requires spending a lot of time doing research and patience. I have neither so I took my fiancé's sister with me. Boris made what I thought was going to be a brutal process very simple and smooth. He wasn't a pushy salesman and he took a consultative approach to identifying what I wanted and educating me on the options. Boris has a ton of experience, which is apparent when you speak with him. The only thing better than the high level of customer service and professionalism that Boris displayed was the beautiful custom ring that was made for my fiancé. She loves it and she has already gotten tons of compliments (which makes me look very good btw). Not only would I highly recommend his services, I know that this is the beginning of a long relationship. I can't wait to go back and purchase wedding bands. read more

This review is long overdue! My husband walked into Roman Malakov Diamonds not ever hearing about them nor not knowing what to expect although i I have. He was blown away to say the least! He was looking for a new wedding band for me, it was our 23rd wedding anniversary and I've been experiencing swelling in my hands and fingers due to an auto immune condition. Michael, one of the gentlemen at the showroom, was wonderful to do this transaction with! My husband decided on a band and came home with it.. the packaging was simply beautiful, but what was inside was stunning! Unfortunately the band was still too tight, through no one's fault, fingers were just swollen, I could not get the ring off. But while it was on I could not help but stare at it, it sparkled so much. We went back to the showroom, my husband asked if I wanted a different one, but my heart was set on the one he picked. Michael took measurements, we decided just a little bigger would be best, he said about 5 weeks to make another ring and that is what it took. He kept in touch with us throughout the process. When it was delivered, heavily insured overnight, I was given the green light to open it and try it on. I cried.. it is just so stunning, I never thought in my wildest dreams would I ever own such a magnificent piece of jewelry as this. I cannot recommend Michael Malakov enough. Thank you again Michael.. read more

I spent a couple months looking the perfect engagement ring. I looked in jewelry stores and online trying to find exactly what my fiance described to me. I walked into Roman Malakov on a whim, just to browse a bit, and started describing to Boris what I wanted. He found a band that was close to what I wanted and then offered to customize it to give me exactly what I was looking for. He also brought out a selection of center stones, and I found just what I was looking for. The ring was finished very quickly, and I proposed to my fiance the same day. Recently, she and I went back to look at wedding bands, as we wanted hers to complement the engagement ring perfectly. We found a few contenders, and Boris helped to explain the benefits and drawbacks to the items we were considering. Ultimately, he recommended a less expensive option for the wedding band, as it was a better fit with the engagement ring. I'll definitely be back on our first anniversary to find that perfect gift! read more

After visiting a few different jewelers in the areas, I decided to order a custom made engagement ring from Boris. He seemed very genuine and caring so I felt more comfortable going here than to other places in the area. I sent him a photo of the ring I was trying to recreate and he matched it EXACTLY. The price was within my budget and Boris made it a great experience. I came back with the fiance for a resizing (her sister gave me the wrong ring size 1/2 size too big) and you couldnt even tell (aside from it now fitting correctly of course). I'd have to say I wish I found this place when I was looking for engagement rings! I hit up all the usual (Tiffany's & Cartier). Great staff, very accommodating. My wife has been looking for a pair of heart shaped diamond earrings, as you can imagine they were hard to find (only the right pair would do). I purchased a high value diamond ring from this store together with my girlfriend. The next day my girlfriend made research and figured out we overpaid by 30%-40% of the market price. I was window shopping on 47th Street with my elderly aunt who loves jewelry. We saw an interesting ring in Roman Malakov's window and stepped into the store. The "gentleman" manning the counter was rude to my Aunt. She asked to see a diamond ring she liked in the window and he demanded to know if we knew how many carats she wanted and what shape of diamond etc. She said "I don't know all that I just want to see the ring that caught my eye" followed by "we are not getting off to a very good start here." The rude "gentleman" manning the counter then said "If you don't like the way we conduct business then you can leave" so we did. What a terrible experience to have my elderly aunt treated like a bum by an arrogant man at the counter. I would not set foot in that store again. The rings were nice in the window but there are 100 other jewelers on 47th Street that we could go to. read more

The Worst shopping experience of my life!
