I had to share my experience because I truly wish I had come here from the very beginning. Jangmi was actually the first place I went to when I started ring shopping. I wanted to see a variety of designs, shapes, and settings--and they had so many beautiful options to try on. The experience was warm, helpful, and not overwhelming at all. However, I ended up going with another jeweler a few stores down because my boyfriend had a connection there. The moment I received my ring, I immediately regretted not choosing Jangmi. The ring I got was nothing close to what I had asked for. The prongs were bent, and I had specifically requested a higher setting so that a wedding band could sit flush--but none of my bands (even very thin ones) sat properly. I brought it back and asked for multiple fixes. To his credit, he did make adjustments for free, but when I received the ring the second time, it still didn't match my vision at all. What I wanted was simple and classic: a 6-prong setting with tall, straight prongs (similar to the Tiffany style) and small claw tips. Instead, the ring was still not high enough, and the prongs were extremely thick--both from the top and side view--which completely took away from the beauty of the diamond. At that point, I was honestly so frustrated and ready to give up. But I remembered how positive my initial experience at Jangmi was, so I decided to reach out and ask if they could reset my ring. Even though the previous jeweler was willing to keep making changes for free, I didn't feel comfortable going back. I would much rather pay for something done right. And I am SO glad I did. Jangmi had the exact design I had been envisioning all along. Mrs. Kim was incredibly patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. She had a wax model made for me to try on before finalizing the ring, which made such a huge difference. Seeing and wearing the design in person gave me so much confidence--honestly, I preferred this so much more than just looking at CAD images, which can be hard to interpret if you're not in the industry. Within just two weeks, my ring was exactly what I had dreamed of from the start. The craftsmanship, the proportions, the setting--everything was perfect. My biggest regret is not coming to Jangmi Jewelry from the beginning. But one thing I can promise is that I will absolutely be coming back here for my wedding bands. I can truly not speak highly enough of Mrs. and Mr. Kim! They were so so professional but felt very familiar and warm at the same time. My fiancé and I's experience goes back to 2019. He initially went to Jangmi right before they closed and they let him in through the back door since they were closing. They took his time with him and talked to him about diamonds and the different things that go into it. He had no plans on buying that day but they took time with him. When I came to visit him in NY later that year, he took me to look at Jangmi and he didn't have a great budget for the ring at the time but they still let us look at rings and never made us feel dumb for even looking at rings that we couldn't afford. I am ABSOLUTELY satisfied and happy with my purchases made at Jangmi!! I planned to propose to my girlfriend covertly. With the help of Mr. and Mrs. Kim, I was able to find the perfect engagement ring with a round stone - size, quality, budget - and my now fiancée was so thrilled with her ring! Happy fiancée, happy me :) One thing that bought me was that during my initial visit, Mrs. Kim needed to place an order for extra diamonds for me to look at as additional options, and after making a call, someone delivered them shortly after. While the stones were all within the specified range according to the GIA figures, she rejected some of them, saying that they weren't quite up to her standards. Apparently, not all stones are the same despite comparable specs, it needs to pass her visual inspection otherwise she wouldn't sell what she does NOT like to her customers. That really seems to be reflected in the stone, because wherever my fiancée goes, among her group of friends, etc., her ring truly stands out. My fiancée was so happy with her engagement ring, that even though she's never heard of Jangmi before I proposed, she dragged me back here so that we can get her full eternity wedding band here as well (btw, so many options to choose from, whereas Tiffany's and Cartier and other brand-name boutiques only carry a very limited number of styles/sizes)! They're the absolute BEST! A few months ago, my now fiancé and I were looking at rings, and I saw so many raving reviews about Jangmi that I had to go see for myself. As my partner is very busy, I made my way to this place alone. At the time, they were so busy, I decided to stop in on a neighboring kiosk. When I asked them about diamonds, they ask me what specs were important to me, and then asked me about florescence. I said I didn't understand what florescence was, and THEY said, "okay, then it won't matter that much." WHAT?! When my bf and I finally had time to go to Jamgmi, Mr. and Mrs. Kim explained to us every single aspect of a diamond, florescence included, and how it's actually really important! That speaks to how knowledgeable they want you to be when you make such a big purchase, so THANK YOU! They also gave us options and let us decide what mattered to us the most by viewing different diamond grades: color, clarity, CUT, etc. Fast forward, my fiancé proposed and he picked a breathtaking stone. He told me that the Kims sat with him and re-explained all the diamond aspects, gave him tools to view inclusions, Gia number, hearts and arrows, etc. He felt like he was in great hands! We did a lot of online browsing on loose diamonds so we knew what prices to expect. Had such an AMAZING experience at Jangmi!! My then-boyfriend (now husband) and I went to go look at engagement rings and we knew this was the place. Richard took the time to explain the four C's and showed us a few diamonds that fell within our budget (to compare color vs carat).
