They have great choices and price ranges for jewels and for settings, and will transparently walk you through the components of price to help you find the optimal choice for your budget. I had browsed the larger branded retailers just to familiarize with styles and - while the reception ranged from delightful to outright snooty - it's very clear that you pay for branding and can get a much much better deal or larger jewel (think 2-4x) by going to a family-owned merchant, yet the craftsmanship and gems are of equal or better quality and the experience more intimate.
