Ari and his teams' Delicate Gem offers wonderful craftsmanship and beautiful gems for great value. A family friend referred them, I bought a diamond engagement ring and recently came back for two wedding bands. They are helpful and informative, and very easy to work with. I'm a very picky and indecisive buyer and they were patient enough to answer all my questions in detail, give me all the time I wanted to inspect the diamonds, walk me through all the different options, and put up with me coming back multiple times before making my mind up. They have great choices and price ranges for jewels and for settings, and will transparently walk you through the components of price to help you find the optimal choice for your budget. I had browsed the larger branded retailers just to familiarize with styles and - while the reception ranged from delightful to outright snooty - it's very clear that you pay for branding and can get a much much better deal or larger jewel (think 2-4x) by going to a family-owned merchant, yet the craftsmanship and gems are of equal or better quality and the experience more intimate. It's always hard to make large purchases from a place we're not a frequent customer of. It helped me to have a family friend's recommendation - I hope this review can help others. read more

The customer experience Harout provides is next level. He was able to provide direction with confidence and reassure us that every minor specification was going to be met. He was extremely transparent during the entire process of design and sale which made us feel so comfortable and confident in him. Would absolutely hands down recommend to anyone look for an engagement ring or jewelry in general. He is definitely a rarity and we are lucky to have been able to work with him! read more

I was searching for diamond earrings for my girlfriend and came across Delicate Gem's website with an intriguing pair of star-shaped earrings. I sent an email asking for more information and got a prompt response from Harry, with a high-resolution photo of the earrings along with all of the information I had requested. I decided to make the purchase online, and the earrings were delivered via insured shipping a few days later. My girlfriend loves them! I am thankful for the honest and helpful communication that helped me purchase such high quality jewelry at a good price. read more

Cannot recommend this place more. My now husband was told about this place by someone who "knows about diamonds very well and has been coming here for years". He got my engagement ring here, months later we returned for our wedding bands- I think Ari told my husband that he was going to give him a good deal, sure he did. We have no idea about stones or metals. If you are going to make such investment $, is always advisable to go to someone you trust, appreciate your business, respects your time and know what they are doing. I ended up getting a little beautiful diamond cross pendant for my wedding day as well and they were very patient, listened to my questions and concerns. Thank you!!! read more

I went to Ari on advice from a close friend to get the most for my money in buying an engagement ring. He not only provided me with a very well priced diamond, but was then able to do a custom setting in platinum on short notice and overnight it to me within 3 days so I could keep my engagement plans. I am so grateful for Ari's help and the help of the entire Delicate Gem staff. They were gracious, patient, informed, and highly reliable. I will be back. read more

I have been doing business with Ari since 2000. He is the best at getting the most value for the best price. He is very good at putting you at ease and determining what it is you are looking for. Picking a diamond depends on many variables and determining which of those is most important to you is what he is best at. This is a family business and all the family is so very nice and above all patient. read more

Delicate gem is a rare find!! As a business owner in the legal industry I am well aware that honesty, integrity and excellence in customer service is a must in order to succeed. Ari and his family epitomize these qualities and go above and beyond your expectations. I had the pleasure of working with Ari and his family several years ago when he made a beautiful engagement ring for my wife and a stunning engagement ring for my brother along with creating a beautiful birthday present for my wife using her birth stone. I can't tell you how many compliments she gets from friends, family and even strangers. Ari truly treated my family as his own! My family would not hesitate to use him for all our jewelry needs. Thank you Ari for being a class act and a jeweler we will use for life!! Jay R. read more

Ari and his team did it again! We went there to pick out our wedding bands and they were helpful, thoughtful, and once again helped bring our vision to reality. We couldn't be happier with the quality of work and professionalism shown by every single person in the store. On top of helping us pick out our wedding bands, they helped adjust the size of my fiancé's engagement ring and cleaned it in the process. It honestly looks brand new. If you're in the market for an engagement ring, wedding band, or any jewelry, save yourself the time and go to Delicate Gem. I recommend them without hesitation. You'll love them like we did! read more

I've been a longtime client of Delicate Gem even though I live in Los Angeles and they are in NY. Ari is wonderful, smart, honest and very responsive to all my jewelry needs. Whether in person, on the phone or over email, I know that I'm getting top-rate service and quality gems at a fair price (and they ship!). I was recommended by a friend who has a long, long history with the kind folks at Delicate Gem and have sent many of my friends their way. Without fail, I get a big thank you. Give them a try. My now fiancè made it his mission to recreate my custom dream engagement diamond ring. By fate, we walked into Delicate Gem while window shopping.. Ari was honest and didn't try to manipulate us, which we found was the problem everywhere else. This is the place to go if you want to get special diamonds (ours is a yellow diamond) and at real prices. They were able to find a perfect selection of the yellow diamond than any other stores could. And Ari worked with us on the band setting design until it's just right. I am so picky and my fiancè is not easy to please, but we both couldn't be happier to have worked with Ari, Harry and his team. We love how the ring came out thank you so much, it means the world to us!!! read more

I had my engagement ring made by Delicate Gem and I could not be happier!!!! I will definitely be getting my wedding bands made here as well. They really took the time to listen to what I wanted and they found me the perfect stone within the price range I specified. They were not pushy salesmen at all. Their level of service was personal & amazing. The setting & stones they delivered were exactly what I wanted and then some! They completely surpassed my expectations. I receive so many compliments on my ring everywhere I go and I myself can't stop staring at it!! It's so gorgeous and the quality is outstanding! Ari gave us the best price after going to other places in the district even without bargaining with him or telling him what others priced similar rings we wanted. So effortless! Ari met all my standards and exceptions in terms of knowledge, skills and customer service. He helped me choose a ring that went with my engagement ring based on my ring's cut, told me my actual ring size and cleaned my ring for free. He's not those annoying people in NYC who are overly friendly and talk your ear off...try to be friends with you and pretend to know your cousin. etc... He's chill, efficient and professional. I'll give you another review when I actually get the ring..we'll see the craftsmanship read more

These guys are first class and I have no hesitation in giving them a 5 star rating! I have purchased 2 diamond rings from Ari at Delicate Gem Fine Jewelry over the past 10 years, sight unseen at time of purchase (because I live in Texas) and have been blown away by the quality, service, HONESTY and prices. You may wonder how I began doing business with Delicate Gem being that I live in Texas and all. Well my father who was an airline pilot use to regularly fly to NYC and would bring home beautiful fine jewelry for my mother that he purchased from Delicate Gem - this wasn't your typical retail or department store quality jewerly - these pieces were breathtaking show stoppers! So when my husband and I started shopping for engagment rings I suggested that we see what Ari had to offer and ended up purhasing a gorgeous 1 ct solitaire set in white gold. Ten years later we upgraded to a 2.1 ct flawless radiant cut diamond set in platinum with a diamond band to match. Serously, and I kid you not, I get compliments weekly on my ring - the diamond has incredible fire and shine! I could not be happier with my investment and with where I purchased the ring. Ari was kind, patient and provided a wealth of knowledge when it came to helping me with my purchase - I would never shop for fine jewelry anywhere else!! read more

I got engaged in September after purchasing a ring at Zales. It was the worst experience ever. I'll spare you the details by just letting you know the main diamond came back (from the appraisal) with multiple imperfections and had to be returned. The next weekend we went to Ari thanks to a referral from a co-worker. Ari took his time to describe and show us the differences between several diamonds. He took his time showing us the different setting options. He took his time to educate us about shopping for jewelry in general! He was very thorough and answered all questions with the utmost professionalism. I told him I'd write a review about a month ago and completely forgot to do it. The reason I just remembered is because I literally just got off the phone with a friend who I am referring to Ari for an engagement ring. If you're looking for honesty, transparency, professionalism and an overall great jewelry-buying experience, Delicate Gems is the place! Thanks again Ari! read more

For the reasons other people have already noted, this place is a "gem" (sorry about the pun!). I was referred to Ari by a mutual connection, which was a total relief--I can't think of anything more unpleasant than dealing with random stores in the Diamond District (I always felt like I was being looked down on, ignored, and ripped off--all at the same time). In contrast--and as others have noted--this store is a family business run by really honest, helpful people. We custom-designed my engagement ring, and they patiently heard me out, didn't rush me, gave me honest advice, and were just generally super-pleasant to interact with. And my ring came out even better than I had imagined it :) We went back to them for our wedding bands, and they were again really careful to listen to us and offer expert advice and opinions (without being at all pushy). I just wish I had more excuses in the near future to give them our business (hint, hint, hubby!). Seriously, I am so, so grateful that I was referred here, so if you are stressing about finding the right store to deal with, like I was, take my word for it--I honestly promise you won't regret it! :) read more

I can't express how beautiful, stunning, and gorgeous my engagement ring is!!!!!!! Ari and his staff did the most amazing job with my ring and I couldnt be happier!! While searching for an engagement ring in Dallas, I visited several wholesale jewelers, all of whom showed me diamonds of similar carat weight, cut, color and clarity. Their pricing was also comparable. At the last minute, I turned to Ari with Delicate Gem on the recommendation of an old friend. Thank God that I did! Ari was clear, concise, direct, informative and reassuring. As I mentioned, I had done a good bit of research, but when Ari quoted me his price, it simply blew the others away! He followed through on every committment in a timely and professional manner, and I had the ring delivered to me in Dallas with no issues, inclusive of the GIA certificate and an apraisal. I recommend Ari and Delicate Gem without hesitation or reservation. And my fiance loved the ring! Thanks so much Ari and Delicate Gem!! read more

After waiting nearly a lifetime to get married, I wondered what kind of engagement ring my fiancé would purchase for me. Unbeknownst to me, he had a "special friend" by the name of Ari in the diamond district that would help with this oh-so stressful task. My fiancé worked with Ari and their designer to come up with a unique, one-of-a-kind wedding ring that satisfied all of my requests as well as added in a bit of personal nuances from my fiancé as well. I absolutely adore the engagement ring Ari and his jeweler created..and my fiancé does as well. I've only been wearing it for a few months, but I get tons of compliments on my custom-designed piece. Comments, like "stunning," "gorgeous", "where did you get that ring?" You wouldn't normally use a place like Delicate Gem because they sell to wholesalers, but if you're in the market for a good quality piece of jewelry without breaking the bank---Delicate Gem Fine Jewelry is the place. Ari and his staff are very knowledgeable, super-friendly and attentive to your needs. With so many shops in the Diamond District it's good to know a place like theirs exists. My fiancé and I were in NY just last week. We stopped in to get him fitted for his wedding ring...and will make a purchase from Ari for that as well. I also eyed some other bling-bling pieces...that I hope will end up in my jewelry box down the road. Nice to know we have someone who is trustworthy, reputable and reasonable for our future jewelry purchases. Yeah, that means I'll be getting an upgrade in a few years! read more

Ari and Ani are the BEST! They are very honest and professional, and the quality of their diamonds are outstanding and very reasonably priced. We were in and out of Delicate Gem in about 30 minutes and couldn't be happier with the beautiful diamond we selected to replace my lost diamond in my engagement ring. They replaced the head and cleaned my engagement ring and wedding band at no cost so they now look like new. We went into Delicate Gem on a Sunday, and my beautiful rings were delivered as promised to our home in MD by that Friday. What a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend Delicate Gem and Ari and Ani to everyone! read more

I recently purchased an engagement ring for my now fiancee. I worked with Ari, who was a great help, especially since I had no idea what I was doing. Great little store with a beautiful selection. As all the other reviews say, these people are by far the friendliest people I've encountered in the Diamond District. My experience with purchasing an engagement ring through Ari has convinced me that future purchases of quality diamonds and friend referrals will only be with and to Delicate Gem. As I had a specific diamond quality in mind, I first met with Ari to review my options. From diamond characteristics to cost, Ari took his time and was transparent on everything. As it was my first time shopping, I decided to do my due diligence and ask around for opinions from friends, their jewelers that they've worked with and several jewelers that I independently sought after. Three things stood out to me from this experience. 1. Ari offers the best price 2. Ari was confident and understanding of the fact that this is a very important purchase for the buyer and suggested and supported the idea of working with an independent appraiser to verify the diamond's characteristics before final purchase. No other jeweler felt that this was necessary and some even discouraged when I'd show any interest in doing so. 3. Ari was patient throughout the entire experience. I never felt pressured to make a haste decision. I highly recommend everyone needing a trustworthy gemologist, with the utmost confidence and enthusiasm, to work w/ Ari and his family. They are patient, prompt, knowledgeable, and will deliver a fine product. read more

Ari is the best! I've purchased multiple pieces of jewelry from Ari over the past 4 years. He is honest and direct. No haggling required, he starts with a better price than you'll settle on elsewhere and provides superior quality stones and craftmanship. I love my new diamond earrings. I would highly recommend Delicate Gem. Ari was trustworthy and professional. The price was a huge savings compared to buying retail -- it was a tremendous savings buying with Delicate Gem. We went to delicate gem on the recommendation of a friend. We called ahead to coordinate a meeting with Ari, the jeweler, and we were told we could arrived at any time and we would be helped to purchase wedding bands. Having a good sense of what we were looking for wedding rings, my fiancé and I remained open to hear suggestions and feedback from the jewelry professionals. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in the store we were met with surly and discourteous attitude. Despite being present upon entering the showroom, Ari did not demonstrate the basic courteous to acknowledge us, or let us know that he would be unavailable even after asking for him by name. We were directed to another family member who reluctantly took out rings but abandoned us minutes into the selling process, without explanation or excuse, choosing to attend to another selling matter. Chani, Ari's mother stepped-in and attempted to continue the sale but despite our best efforts to establish positive seller-buyer rapport, inquire about jewelry creation options or get ideas from the jeweler, we were met with rude, inconsiderate, surly attitude which left my fiancé and I feeling dismissed, frustrated and disrespected. Simply stated, the family at Delicate Gem acted like we were doing them a favor by shopping at the store. Delicate Gem's rude and inconsiderate customer care did not even justify any remarkable jewelry design on display nor average offering prices. I could not wait to get out of their store fast enough. If you find yourself in the diamond district go anywhere else. read more

Delicate Gem absolutely exceeded expectations. A mutual friend introduced me to Ari and after speaking to him on the phone a couple of times, he pretty much pegged what I wanted. He custom designed a ring exactly what I was looking for, and his professionalism and service were great. I was out-of-state and we did everything over email , and he was so knowledgeable guiding me through my engagement ring purchase. I can't thank them enough. AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! My fiance and I shopped for my engagement ring together. After visiting a few other shops on 47th Street and starting to feel overwhelmed, we happened upon Delicate Gem. We were so appreciative of the overall quality of service & finished product we received in dealing with their entire staff. With regards to the actual diamond, Ari had inventory so we had options in choosing the perfect stone. With regards to the setting, we explained & provided Ari with a photo of exactly what we wanted and he was able to replicate it perfectly. Shopping for this special & significant piece of jewelry is typically not easy especially in the NYC diamond district however, we were very lucky to walk into Delicate Gem and have a nice experience. I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants to deal with an honest, knowledgeable, willing and capable jeweler. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. THANK YOU! read more

After visiting several stores in the diamond district, my two daughters and I were walking past Delicate Gem and my one daughter stopped at the storefront window and pointed to the emerald cut ruby and diamond trillion ring exclaiming, "that is the ring for my college graduation!" The quality of the stones was excellent and the pricing perfect. I also ended up with diamond earring for my 25th wedding anniversary. Ari made my 30th anniversary wedding ring set per instructions of my husband, and the last ring purchased was also custom made and designed by Ari. We live on the west coast, yet working with Ari is easy via phone and email because he is attentive to his clients needs. He is a talented, artistic craftsman who makes sure the quality and workmanship is exactly to the specifications of his clients. He is trustworthy, experienced, and dependable. We highly recommend Delicate Gem. There is something for everyone. Ari - You are the greatest! read more
