Walking in on a warm autumnal October at noon, I was able to easily park at this facility. I came 20 minutes earlier than my appointment as I anticipated paperwork. Arriving all the way from Orange County, I thought I would give the imaging centers in Ventura County a try The office was extremely easy to find being in suite 120 at the intersection of the hallways, basically the center of the building. As I opened the doors, the interior seem spacious with inviting interior decorations. I am typing this review as I sit in the waiting room. The paperwork for me took about 5 minutes to finish as it was rather straight forward. The staff seem kind when they knew immediately who I was even as I was a new patient based on my appointment time. The ultrasound technician was extremely nice and courteous, having over 15 years of experience. The ultrasound experience was efficient as can be as I was comfortable, yet he was able to take a lot of pictures both ventrally and laterally with his ultrasound wand, with the right amount of pressure without it hurting. The ultrasound gel was warm and much appreciated it. The small talk was brief and enjoyable as I remained pretty much quiet throughout the entire procedure except holding breath when he says so. Afterwards, I returned to the office where I was able to reschedule my upcoming chest xray appointment with Stephanie. She had excellent customer service and was very polite. She even let me prefill a form so I don't have to fill it on the day of. Overall, I got my results back the next day. Instantaneously. I don't know about the other reviews on here but this has been the most pleasant experience I've come across in imagining. Coming all the way from Orange County. I look forward to my next appointment! Update: Amber, the x-ray technician for my chest x-ray was extremely skilled. She helped me remove my necklace, was very courteous, polite, positive, and radiant as she took my x-ray in an efficient manner. It literally took 5 minutes. The front office staff was also in the festive spirit with Halloween attire. In conclusion, this diagnostic office is probably the best office I have ever visited in my life! I am conflicted writing this. I will say that this place is very clean and well kept. Scheduling and customer service was fine on the phone and they were nice in person however I came and brought my father, this is where 3 stars is. The front check ins consist of 2 small sections, 1 has 2 front ladies with computers next to each other where you check in and stand up. The other small section to the right has another person with a computer and for someone to sit down if needed. However the section with 2 people you are literally standing next to another patient, me and my father were checking him in standing next to another patient as she was checking in. I attached a photo for reference. During check in, they did state they would ask a few questions, I did not think too much of it till they started asking him about his medical condition, past medical treatments, his current medications and history OUTLOUD. I got uncomfortable after a while and asked to complete it myself, why are we speaking this out loud? Is this not against HIPPA? They give patients registration forms to sign with a clip board and have them sit down... why not let your patients complete the medical questionnaire?! Why should patient standing next to us hear his current diagnosis, medication and current and past treatments especially if its super sensitive to him. My father and I noticed that after he mentioned specific words regarding his personal life, the patient to our right kept looking over. Again the answers themselves were sensitive and I don't feel my father got the privacy he deserved. After we left my father was really not happy with that and neither was I. He did NOT feel his information was private despite how many people are in the room or not, why does he have to say it outloud? If management is reading this, as a worker in the healthcare field myself... I would suggest patients answering that themselves on paper as this info is private. No matter if people stand next to each other at check in, we can hear everything here in the waiting room chairs. They are incompetent. They scheduled me. I took off work when I entered. They nonchalantly told me that. Oops I should return on a different date because they did not have a technician. I was shocked. I came in for an early-morning appointment and they just seem to think this was business as usual. How can they run a business if they cannot keep appointments straight? I took my daughter for her appointment. All went well until I continued to recieve a bill long after I had paid the bill and long after palms imaging had cashed my check. I spoke to Alex and Selena on two different occasions and they both said that my check was received and processed. Selena even sent me a receipt with a zero balance. Then a week later I get another bill threatening to send me to collections. I thought that I was dealing with professionals now I see that I'm dealing with incompetent people. I expect to have this issue handled immediately and for a supervisor to contact me directly ! read more

Radiologists are excellent, but the customer service is severely lacking. I've had two separate appointments canceled at the last minute. For the most recent one, I received confirmation both two days and one day in advance. I had informed them that I would be driving three hours to get there, but when I arrived, they told me the appointment had to be rescheduled. This was a six-hour round trip for me, and the only notice I received was a voicemail left just a few hours before the appointment--no text, no direct conversation. I requested, at the very least, reimbursement for gas or an apology, but received neither. Instead, they called and expected me to rearrange everything to come in a few days later, despite me clearly stating that it was impossible. It's disappointing and frustrating. They don't seem to care or listen. While my doctor praised the radiologist's thoroughness, which is why I prioritized continuity of care, the lack of respect and consideration from the staff is unacceptable. Be aware of their poor customer service if you choose to go here. read more

Angie went above and beyond to schedule my mother's PET scan after her melanoma diagnosis. She worried about my mother all weekend and Monday morning provided an opportunity to fit my mother into their schedule after another patient canceled. Angie is a perfect example of an employee who truly tries her best to accommodate a patient's need. They are very lucky to have such a caring person on their staff. Didn't think it could get much better until Shannon, the tech who did the test, also provided exceptional care to my 90-year-old mother. What a great place with wonderful people. I called in regards to obtaining any other information/documents. 1. She was pretty aggressive on the phone. 2. hung up on me 3. Was ignoring my calls the following minute later (called 5 times same ext) 4. I had to ask front desk to transfer me. 5. Was left on hold for 10 minutes until someone answered the phone for no reason to then hang up and put me on hold for another five minutes (15min hold) 6. Then hung up on me again. I'm not sure who is operating the front desk or I'm not sure who is in charge, but this is definitely not one way to deal with patients or anyone for that matter. This is unexcused-- now I can't obtain my documents... how sad. Maybe HR should be involved. read more

I can't say enough about this WONDERFUL facility!!! Angie took my initial call for scheduling of a specialized PET scan, and made it happen the next day! This isn't a final review, as my appts are coming up. So far, most of the people on the phone have been quite nice and seem professional. But I'm nervous about their cash price procedure. On the one hand, I'm excited to have found Palms because 1) they do 'fast mri' for breast exams (hard to find) for a reasonable cash price and 2) their cash price also on MRI of abdomen is quite reasonable (my doctor's order wasn't approved by insurance, so I'm doing it "cash pay" instead). What's disconcerting about this, is that I want to make sure there's no misunderstanding with the prices I've been quoted (which they say include the radiologist and the radiologist report, and up to 2 CD's). They are unwilling to send me the prices in an email or in writing, and after just calling (talking to "insurance dept")--the lady said they won't even be able to put in writing that I'm paid in full when I pay just before the procedure--saying they use outside billing, and payment has to finalize... That may be legitimate--but how am I supposed to feel confident that there's been no misunderstanding on the price? I may have to cancel, just because of the uncomfortableness of this. They should be able to verify a cash price before my procedure, since there is no insurance involved. Any number of misunderstandings could occur (the most obvious of which would be the radiologist billing me separately, that sort of thing). I once had a horrible experience with this sort of a thing, and don't think I can take the stress of uncertainty. read more

Routine Mammogram. Professional, friendly, efficient and skilled technician. Did not over-tighten the machine to the point of extreme pain (like other places I have been to). Good COVID practices. I showed up (early) for my ultrasound appointment only to be told it was canceled because I didn't confirm the appointment. I told them I didn't receive any messages from them and they said they called me. The day before I had four missed calls from 805-604-9500 at 10:26am, 12:38pm, 2:23pm and 3:10pm. I was at work and unable to answer. Additionally, no message was left. Later that evening I called the number back and found out it was Palms Imaging (I didn't speak to anyone). Since they didn't leave a message I didn't think anything of it and came to my appointment. I was shocked when they told me they couldn't see me because I failed to confirm. I asked them if their policy was to simply call several times without leaving any type of message before they canceled the appointment, again, without any notice. The supervisor I spoke with said no but wouldn't give me any further information except that I should have confirmed. So instead of accepting responsibility for their mistake, they were faulting me. I expressed the fact that they called 4 times proves that no message was left. Additionally they tried faulting my referring doctor because they should have told me I had to confirm. So now it's the patients job to do THEIR job of calling patients and leaving messages about their appointments. My husband and I both took time off from work and made arrangements to make this very important appointment. The customer service I received was unacceptable. Please train your clerical staff to do their jobs correctly and COMPLETELY and not to inconvenience patients or fault them due to their lack of being able to perform their job duties. They left me frustrated and crying because they simply wouldnt accept responsibility and kept deferring it back on me. Had they left a message, as they told me was their policy, I most certainly would have confirmed. I didn't know I was supposed to look up the 4 missed calls, figure out who was calling, and then ASSUME I should call or my appointment would be canceled. Beyond rude and unprofessional. read more

I had scheduled an appointment with them but a week before the appointment I got a call saying they had not received any information from my Dr.'s office so they just canceled the appointment. I called back to get information on what specifically they needed, then called the Dr.'s office. The Dr's office called them directly and within 10 minutes someone from Palms Imaging contacted me to say they had the information they needed and we could go ahead and schedule another appointment because the one they'd canceled without contacting me first was already filled. So we scheduled an appointment for tomorrow (mind you, this was a month ago that this happened), and today they called saying they had not received the information from the Dr's office or from the insurance company. Needless to say, I called back to see what was going on. They said they had not received the Dr's notes or approval from my insurance, and that approval would take 3-5 days. They've had a month to get approval, so what have they been doing? And, what? The woman from Palms called me right after my Dr's office called her to give her to give the information, and she said we could now schedule an appointment because she had it. This was the same woman who called to let me know they'd canceled the first appointment because they didn't have the information. So if she truly did not have the Dr's notes yet why was she calling me to schedule a new appointment? They canceled an appointment because they didn't have the Dr's notes but then rescheduled without them anyway? How does that even make sense? In addition, it has been a month since this appointment was scheduled and they waited until the day before to tell me all of this! I could have scheduled business appointments for tomorrow had they contacted me a week ago, or better yet, I could have made sure they were sent the information AGAIN so I could get the MRI. But no, they waited until the day before and tell me they didn't have the information they need. Well, I don't know what they did with it because they had it when we scheduled this appointment. No thank you, I'll be going someplace else that has their sh** together. read more

They really know how to take care of patients who are Claustrophobic in MRI machines with medication. Donna the Nurse showed such great care on the phone and when we arrived she was ready to help us through the MRI successfully. I had two ultrasounds performed her at Palms Imaging for various reasons. Customer service was great. I had to move my appointments around a few time due to my work schedule and they were good about accommodating me. The day I went in for my ultrasounds, service was fast and the techs were knowledgeable and overall, I felt comfortable. My results came to my provider in a timely manner as well, often times taking less than a week. The lobby was always neat and clean and so were the examination rooms. Such a great experience after a very scary time! I received a mammogram at another facility that came up positive in my left breast. At Palms Imaging they have 3D mammogram which is wayyyy better than 2D! This place is amazing! The doctor is right there to look at your images and determine if they need additional views. Alex, Laura, Kim and Dr D all helped me during my visit. I must say this was way beyond expectations and if you're scared this is the place to go. I'm so sad to see the negative reviews for Palms Imaging here on Yelp. I admit I've never had an ultrasound here, but for the past several years (since my breast cancer diagnosis) this is where I've had my mammograms and MRIs. Despite the tests themselves being NO FUN at all, the people there have always gone above and beyond to make the experience tolerable. A little over a week ago I was in for an MRI. The ladies at the desk greeted me with a smile and even helped me fill out the lengthy paperwork. When Nurse Donna came for me, she immediately made me feel at ease and continued to check on me throughout the process. During the MRI itself, Cole (the tech) spoke often in a calm and reassuring voice to let me know how the test was progressing and to ask how I was doing. When I was finished both Donna and another assistant Olivia took care of me until my husband arrived to drive me home. At every moment I felt respected and cared for. When my next check-up rolls around in a year, I will be back at Palms... wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

I have been trying to schedule a biopsy for more than a month now with no success. All I get " I can't get ahold of anyone can we call you back" or "they are busy can we call you back", but they do have time to call my doctor and tell him that they can't reach me to set up an appointment. I had sever nerve pinch and was in so much pain and needed an MRI stat I called all over and everyone was booked a week out, really? this place got me in that night so the DR could figure out how to relieve the pain with surgery or an epidural. Have been here a number of times and have always had pretty good experiences, however I recently had a genuinely great experience with the ultrasound tech, Gracie. She was patient, kind, understanding and very gentle all while maintaining excellent professionalism. She is clearly very skilled at what she does! Overall this imaging center is above average, main good thing going for it is the hours of operation. They are open till 7 daily and open on the weekends making it a great place if you have a normal job. Front desk staff was average, techs were helpful. Seems like most insurance takes them. Tip make sure to get an appointment cause it can get busy. read more

Absolutely hate going to this place they call you back just to make you sit for over an hour after you scheduled time , they don't communicate with you when you are actually scheduled and waste your time then bill you a full amount when you shouldn't be billed. The reception service at this facility leaves A LOT to be desired. Glum faces, bad attitudes and rude service about sums it up. I literally stood there in front of two women who were flipping through papers and trying to look busy for a good minute before one of them looked up and said, "Did you have a question?" Ah yeah, rocket scientist, that'd probably be the reason why I'm standing in front of you. Not the brightest bulb in the package, for sure. Note to the HR staff here...the two snits running the front desk are the first people your patients encounter...hiring people with nice, friendly attitudes would be a really good idea. As far as the rest of the staff goes, i.e., nurses, aides, etc., they were wonderful, friendly and courteous! However, because of the unfriendly, rude service I received at reception, two stars for this facility...steer way clear of them if at all possible! read more

Really kind staff that went out of their way to inform us of specific labs needed (that our dr didn't tell us about) prior to the procedure, saving us a lot of time. Thanks to having that info we were able to get the labs done on the day we found out about them, and it didn't delay the procedure. read more

I don't understand how this place doesn't get more fantastic reviews. I've been there three times and it is clean, organized, and staffed with super nice people up front and very wonderful techs in the back. There is lots of parking which makes it easy. I'm so glad they take my insurance so I don't have to go to the hospital for imaging!!! read more

So we had an appointment at Palms for ultrasound. Palms called the day before with instructions to drink 20 oz of water before coming. When we arrived, the restroom was used! It was THEN they came out and said "we need a full bladder"! So after another 1/2 hour of drinking more water, they took her in!
