If you want local this is the place. It was a cool ambiance right on the main street, the smell is inevitable and it did not disappoint! Took my father in law to Rollin Smoke BBQ over the weekend ti celebrate his birthday. It was both of our first times at Rollin. The pork ribs were perfectly seasoned with the rub. Unfortunately the brisket was a bit dry. The waitress recommended both but I have a feeling the brisket was a day old. The pinto beans were delicious and had shreds of brisket but the portions were very small (4 oz) for the price ($22) with 2 meats. I was expecting more flavor from the mac n cheese. Also, we went midafternoon so it was very busy but the service was slow. I'll give Rollin another try but will not order the brisket next time. read more

Visiting family in the area and found this gem after going to a couple of wineries in the valley. The smell hits you as soon as you get in the parking lot. The 1,000 gallon converted propane tank smoker is a site to see. The brisket, sausage and ribs are sooo good. The staff is excellent and everything looks and feels authentic southwest. Not worth the drive! Terrible food- ordered a pound $27 of brisket to go. Should have known better by staff approach as if they were in a hurry to get the order in (mind you they had no customers.)I decided to overlook the fact that it was lazily packaged- wish i would've taken pic brisket looked horrible as if had been kept out to be made into jerked beef it was super dry and heavily seasoned- needless to say the barbecue sauce was super watery and tasted like pure vinegar. The only thing that was descent was the potato salad. The coleslaw was super watery and with a pound of cranberries. Don't waste your gas and Money I should've just gone to Rudy's. Definitely worth going! They were out of a few items on the menu ( the loaded giant potato and Texas Twinkie) so I settled for the meat combo. I had the ribs and sausage which were excellent; and I had the beans for the side which were amazing as well! Everyone else loved their slaw and chicken basket. Definitely a must if you are in or driving through New Mexico. The food quality is amazing from the bbq sauce, ribs, and macaroni salad (serving is too small). I like their menu as they have combos and all different prices. The owner is hands on and helps out his staff. The servers are very attentive. The ambience is family friendly with a rustic edge. This was our first time actually sitting at the restaurant and it has a great rustic atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food was more than delicious! The portions are more than you can handle, so we had plenty to take home. If you want a little bit of everything, my husband recommends the shotgun sandwich. That thing was huge! Oh, and you must try the Texas Twinkie's, 10/10!!! The brisket is perfect and the sausage has that snap when you bite into it. Great music was playing and the servers/owners were personable and very accommodating. Now to the food- the brisket was tender and so flavorful. The pork ribs were tender and meaty. The sausage had that snap to the casing we both like. All the meats are Texas style, but the sauce is unique with just a hint of sweetness that compliments all. We want to try the chicken next time. Jalapeño "twinkie" was really different but so tasty. Our only wish was that the Mac n cheese would have been more stove hot but it was also good despite that. Wish I could give more stars! The food here is absolutely amazing and tasted homemade rather than processed/prepackaged and then thawed. Brisket is nice, moist and not too tough. Sausage was so tasty! Don't even get me started on the ribs, the meat falls off the bone when you take a bite. Their mac and cheese is definitely different from what I'm used to but it definitely was delicious! It wasn't as cheesy as most recipes I've had, however the spices and pieces of meat that are mixed in make it so smoky and good, I wish I had ordered some to go. Aside from the food, the service also deserves higher than 5 stars. Although they are only serving to go orders, we were greeted upon arrival and the employees, as well as who I could assume was the owner/manager, were very kind. 1000/10 would recommend this place to anyone who loves good food. They were super dry, barely had any meat on the bones, and just did not have the best flavoring. Not memorable. Moving on to the beef brisket, well, it was better. Had a good smoke flavor, paired well with the sauce they provided, and was quite tender. A little more fatty than I prefer, but I guess I should have asked about that upfront, and asked for leaner slices. The smoked apple pie was quite good, for dessert. We had been trading knowledge about what recipes we liked for smoking different kinds of meats, and she mentioned she was going to this place for dinner. Since my family has been trying to find great local bbq in El Paso, I immediately told my husband about it. He picked up a spread for us the first time: brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, sausage, mac n cheese, beans. All the meats were delicious. The mac n cheese was maybe a little bland.
