Rollin' Smoke BBQ was on my to try list and they did not disappoint. The food was delicious and service was great. For a Sunday afternoon it wasn't crowded like a lot of places. Then the BBQ sauce had a nice flavor and kick to it. I highly recommend them.

Pick 3 meat (ribs, pork loin, and brisket) with side of baked beans.

Stoped by for lunch, great quick, hot and fresh. Ribs were super soft and flavorful, never had a pork loin at a bbq place before, that was amazing, and the brisket was great too. Inside is small but had lots of seating, also have big patio outside. Service was great! They gave us a Texas Twinkie as a surprise to try it out and it was really good, just like everything here!

Wood fired briskets, pulled pork, ribs, and everything else delicious!

Absolutely delicious! Meet Jose the owner and he loves what he does! I make BBQ and smoke meat and this was one of the first places I've gone that made me say "Wow!" Worth the trip from El Paso! I might even have to make the trip back from Los Angeles! I think that is technically a Michelin Star rating in my book!

TLDR: Rollin' Smoke BBQ offers great atmosphere and community spirit in a repurposed Texaco station. The sausage and coleslaw shine, but the brisket disappoints. A fun, character-filled stop if you're passing through: good food, but not destination-worthy. Overview: Tucked into the small town of Anthony just outside of El Paso, Rollin' Smoke BBQ is more than a place to eat: it's a local story turned into a landmark. Owner Jesus Carrasco transformed an old Texaco station into a barbecue destination complete with car-themed décor and tailgate benches. Today, it's a sit-down restaurant where guests can settle in and enjoy their meal surrounded by small-town charm. Parking is available in a gravel lot on the side of the building. According to the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association, it doubles as a community hub, hosting live music, seasonal events, and even a classic car show that draws crowds every year. Food: I went with the three-meat plate, reasonably priced at $27, plus an additional 4 oz side. The mac and cheese was creamy with a nice, natural-tasting cheese blend that avoided the artificial flavor some barbecue spots fall into. That said, it could have used a bit more sharpness or punch to make it truly memorable. The coleslaw, however, was an absolute standout: sweet and creamy with cranberries adding a soft bite that elevated it well beyond your average slaw. Among the meats, the sausage was the clear winner: juicy, deeply flavored, and cooked to perfection, it easily stole the spotlight. The ribs followed with a satisfying texture and a nicely seasoned rub. They were solid and enjoyable, though not quite at the "wow" level. The brisket, however, was the most disappointing element. Both the lean and moist cuts leaned dry and lacked the richness and depth of flavor that Texas brisket is known for. Not terrible by any means, but certainly underwhelming. Thankfully, the barbecue sauce helped tie everything together with its well-balanced mix of heat, sweetness, and acidity, making it a strong supporting player across the plate. If you like their sauce as much as I did, you're in luck, as they sell it in mason jars so you can take some home with you. Final Thoughts: Rollin' Smoke BBQ is a place worth visiting for the atmosphere and sense of community as much as the food. While the brisket falls short of Texas standards, the sausage and coleslaw help make up for it, and the rest of the menu holds steady. It's a fun, character-filled spot that reflects the pride of Anthony, Texas, and one that delivers a good, but not great, barbecue experience. It is definitely worth a stop if you're passing through, though not necessarily a destination on its own.

Enjoyed some of the best baby back ribs I have ever had. When I arrived late on a Sunday afternoon, the hostess told me they only had ribs left and asked if that was OK. I probably would've ordered ribs anyway so I had no issues. The waitresses were very prompt and polite in my order came out very quick. The baby back ribs were smoked to perfection, cooked at just the right temperature, and for the correct length of time. They were served hot as if they had just come off the smoker. The dry rub was the perfect blend of seasonings for a pork rib. The sides are just that, sides, but they are good. Portions are small, but I was way more interested in the ribs. The setting is just off the road and has more of a dive type of feel. I will definitely be going back to try other selections and make sure I arrive earlier or call ahead to see what they have available. This is obviously a very popular spot and the food goes fast.

An excellent Texas style BBQ. This one just feels like a great BBQ restaurant old school style. 2 huge smokers out front and very nice decor inside! Not sure how many waitresses they have but they were constantly helping us out. Definitely recommend this TEXAS STYLE BBQ!!

3 meat plate. Brisket, ribs, and sausage with Mac n cheese

Service was ok. Ambiance was really nice. There was outside seating and once in awhile water mist felt coming through the fan. The was indoor seating and a separate seating at the bar which looked like a nice place to eat if you're by yourself. There's a railroad directly behind and I thought it was so cool when a train came by honking. The food, hmm. My coworkers local to the area, really hyped this place up because I found Dessert Oak BBQ disappointing. Tried Dave's and it was ok. So I was really excited to try Rollin Smoke. I was told it was the best in this region. I used to live further down south in Texas and had really good BBQ. I have yet to try anywhere near El Paso that I can honestly say I truly like. I had the 3 meat basket. I chose Brisket, baby back ribs, and sausage. I most excited to try the brisket because the other places I went to had decent to good brisket and this was supposed to be the best. Rollin Smoke brisket was the driest brisket I've had in my bbq journey in this part of Texas. It was so dry I didn't even attempt to try to continue to eat it. The ribs were dry but not as dry as the brisket and I dipped it into the sauce. The bbq sauce was delicious. What has been disappointing at other places but delicious here at Rolling Smoke is the sausage! The sausage was the saving grace. It was perfect! Texture, excellent. Taste, mouth watering. Portion, perfect! The sausage, Mac n cheese, and the brisket jalapeno popper were so good! I had the popper with the brisket as an appetizer and was excited because the brisket in it was delicious and tender. Sides. The Cole Slaw....not for me! First taste was delicious. Then the second, I tasted pineapple and raisins. Those two ingredient do not belong in Cole Slaw, I'm sure a lot of ppl enjoy it but not I. The beans were decent. Mac n cheese, delicious! Would I visit again? Most likely for the sausage and Mac n cheese. I would give the brisket a try again but we'll have to see if I drive that way again.

    Loaded potato

Amazing food and service has put the place in my top tier spots to do BBQ in the El Paso area. The loaded potato is a giant spud smothered in beans, brisket, cheese, and bbq sauce and is enough for two to share. We also ordered the brisket platter and the brisket was tender and seasoned to a peppery perfection you come to expect with Texas BBQ. The potato salad was on point, and be sure to add a side of mac n cheese. It has a kick to it but is just gives it character and flavor I'm every bite. I forget the young lady's name who served us both she was a delight and one of the kindest servers we've met. Always a bonus in my book and Theo place is deserving of a 5-star review.

Rollin Smoke Bbq in Anthony. Three meat platter. Brisket was dry and the bark was so hard and dry you had to cut it off to eat the brisket.

On my return visit today I was somewhat disappointed and thus had to lower the overall rating to Three and Three Quarter Stars. The inside dining area of the restaurant was improved. It had good air conditioning and large tables. Overall, it was a nice place to dine. The young ladies who led customers to a table and provided them with a menu were very pleasant. Our young waiter today was excellent. My date today ordered a two meat platter with cole slaw, pulled pork, and brisket. I had a three meat platter with brisket, baby back ribs, and sausage with mac n cheese. We also sampled one of their "Texas Twinkies," a pepper filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon and smoked. The food was ready and on our table within ten minutes. We found the pulled pork to be very good. It was not dry and had a nice smoky flavor. Rate it an "A-." The cole slaw was quite good and rates a "B+." The mac n cheese, on the other hand, was a disappointment. It was not as bad as a lot of BBQ joints serve it but it lacked flavor and had no seasoning or topping. Just plain. I was expecting a little more. Rate the mac a "B-." The brisket was about the biggest disappointment as some other reviewers have stated. The bark was so hard and dry you had to cut it away from the brisket in order to eat the meat. The brisket itself was somewhat dry and had no fat or flavor. They really need to improve their brisket, after all this is Texas! Even dousing it with their BBQ sauce didn't help. Rate the brisket a "B-" or maybe a "C." Very mediocre. The BBQ sauce itself was kind of anemic. After all the time they've been in business you would think they could come up with a better BBQ sauce or at least give the customers some options. Rate the sauce about a "B-." The baby back ribs of course were smoked with no sauce on them. The rub was undistinguished and the pork ribs a bit dry. I took a couple ribs home to reheat them using Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce. I would rate these ribs about a "B." Sorry, but Rollin Smoke needs to improve these. The sausage link was ok...nothing to distinguish it either way. Rate it a "B." The one item we really enjoyed along with the pulled pork was the Texas Twinkie. It had a nice smoky flavor and was over all delicious. Rate the Twinkie an "A-." So, as you can see, there was very little served here today that was in the excellent or superior category. One usually does not go out of his way to dine on "B," "B-," and "C" food. Rate the overall dining experience at Rollin Smoke THREE AND THREE QUARTER STARS....meaning, above average but not really outstanding. They really need to improve the brisket and ribs!!! As Christopher from San Diego said in his review, Rollin Smoke, while good, is "not destination worthy."

    Brisket Fat

I traveled 30 minutes to try this place. I ordered a Full Rack of Baby Back Ribs that were soooo dry. I could forgive that, as the smoke met my expectations and I managed to eat them. However, I ordered 1 pound of Burnt End Brisket (Sol's BBQ El Paso the best ever and know as Brown Ends) and I got half pound of FAT with no marble with a half pound chopped brisket mixed in. C'mon guys. I repeated my order several times when ordering. Burnt or Brown Ends of brisket. NOT 1/2 lb of fat. Sorry guys, Rib Hut El Paso does it better.

Didn't have brisket by 5 pm, even though I ordered in advance. Wasted 30 minutes driving there. Won't waste my time going there again.
