Last time Rollin Local received a solid 5, but our experience this time was very subpar. We had to wait 10 mins when there were at least 5 open tables. The hostess didn't seem to be concerned and took her sweet time before seating us. Our waitress came over once to take our order and to provide the check, so that was another huge downgrade. She also let us know I would have to select 2 proteins for my hibachi lunch. I asked for just shrimp as I'm trying to eat less meat and she wouldn't honor my request . Portions are generous, but the unwillingness to accommodate or please the customer makes me not want to come back. I've also never experienced a lazier or less friendly staff.

Service was good, especially for how big of a group we had. I'd suggest the sushi over the fried food if you eat here, the fried food just kind of tasted old (specifically the bento box fried chicken and crab rangoons). The rest of the party got pineapple fried rice and they loved it! Very casual place.

We sat outside, on the sidewalk which was really nice and the ambiance was casual and trendy. We heard amazing things about Rollin Local and were excited to try it. Servers were very nice, helpful and attentive. The food was delicious but did not come out hot, so that was disappointing. I'm guessing it sat for awhile before server picked it up? We will be back because it seemed like a one off based on friend's feedback.

We heard amazing things about this place and were excited to try it while in Georgetown. It's a cute ambiance with indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. The menu is very diverse which is nice for parties of varying food preferences. The drinks were good and I'd say normal price for a cocktail. I really enjoyed my sushi roll but was surprised they didn't have gluten free soy sauce. The menu is not descriptive for allergies, which is why I decide to give 4 stars. I would give 4.5 if I could because the food is really flavorful but I do think there is room for improvement in the allergy realm. For those with an allergy, menus already feel limited and so offering something like GF soy sauce can make a huge difference in an experience. Just a thought! Service was good and we would totally return to try more.

This was really nice to stop by and try during my lunch break. I was in this town on business and my coworker recommended this place. . . so I brought her with me. Ambiance/Safety So the layout is really spacious and they have outdoor seating which is great given the weather right now. Now the inside is pretty dark but they have a lot of window lighting to it is a nice balance. They wiped down our outside seating before offering our menus and they do wear masks. Now, they do have a mask mandate but you know how it has been in the current climate (people are acting like they don't read the door signs anymore smh). Service The waitress was very kind and hospitable. She was very knowledgeable on the menu so her choice of sushi rolls for us was awesome. Food So I had some of their specialty rolls. I believe one of them was called the monster roll the other I can't quite remember (I didn't like it too much. . . too much fish egg topping for me). Overall they were both very good. I think I will have to come there again during a lunch break and just get two of the monster. OH, I believe it won an award in 2020. . . You'll see it in its description on the menu. lol. Overall, this was a great experience and the menu has a lot of variety for the taste buds. I love sushi so I am SO GLAD I had a place to enjoy in Georgetown. . . . now to find my way back to Wild Ginger lol.

They have a great lunch menu with tons of creative rolls. We stayed simple today with two apps and tacos (all was amazing). The service was VERY good. The restaurant itself was clean and very nostalgic feeling. Very old south atmosphere. Can't wait to go again

We went late on a Saturday night and still had to wait 45 mins to get in. It's very small Inside (but also have outdoor eating area) so prepare to wait. My daughter said it's the best sushi she has ever had. I had a cheeseburger and fries. It was good. Other guest with us had Bang a bang Shrimp they said was delicious. They have a big cocktail and beer menu also. read more

Despite the elegant appearance of the sushi, I wasn't very impressed. This restaurant was highly recommended to me so I wanted to see what the hype was about. The service was extremely slow and the food was just mediocre. I was excited at first because the menu is extensive but unfortunately nothing met my expectations. Best thing on the menu was the Thai doughnuts. I'm not from the area so I probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

This place was so good! My family and I live in Murrells and we went to Georgetown for the day, and we decided on this place because everyone loves sushi (except me), so having more options besides sushi was a plus. My family loved the sushi, the drinks were good, and the atmosphere was great. We sat outside and the service was awesome! read more

If I could give this place a lower star, I would. If you are a person of color, please think twice before you go here. Living in this town, an business owner, and ready to pay for the meal I was about to eat, I was treated like I would have been 100 years ago. My family and I were waiting for more than 30mins after being seating to be attended to. We didn't even receive any water or menus while people who came after us sat, ordered, and received their orders. My story is not the first time this restaurant has been discriminated against the color of our skin. Talking to other people of color in this town, I have notice this narrative has been an ongoing issue at this particular restaurant. I will never recommend the people I know to go here because this was truly humiliating and embarrassing on the restaurant's part. read more

Wished you guys had a mandatory mask rule for your servers and had a limit of people indoors. It's called a preventative measure of something we cannot control. I would love to get at the very least, to-go from yall like before but was told by friends that only waiters wear masks and not the bartender not hosts. What's the point then? The masks only work when everyone does it. I wonder how many other locals you've lost because this was their last straw and not the fact that you never get a to-go order right? If anyone here doesn't mind the above or the pandemic is finally over: their food is good but sometimes they forget to fry fried sushi, your food comes to you luke warm because it sat out for too long before being delivered, and you cannot depend on them for giving you the correct order during a pick-up. It's not like the old sushi we had back in 2012. If you are visiting, get sushi up at the beach and visit one of the more accurate, long time respectable businesses down the road from this place. read more

Adorable little local dive, great outdoor seating and indoor seating. Nice decor and location right across the street from the water. Sit outside if you can or towards the front It is super noisy near the back door, it swings open and shut every second or two. Portions are huge and very tasty, habachi was best we have ever had. FRESH cut fries! 4 stars only because of the annoying door, it really is that bad. 5 star food, atmosphere and service! read more

Really enjoyed this spot although I have to subtract one star because during the pandemic they sat my party immediately next to another large party while the rest of the dining room was empty. Looking back I realize I should have just asked to be socially distanced (at least 6 feet) from another table but I also would think that the restaurant should have been doing this without being asked to. Besides the lack of social distancing, we all enjoyed our meals. The sushi was very good and you get a ton for the price. I only wish the menu was a bit more pared down, there was almost too much to choose from and it gave off the vibe that they didn't know what type of restaurant they wanted to be. read more

Me and my family came here about a month ago after hearing a lot of our friends speak highly of the place. I'll start with the food. My daughter ordered the fried pickles and they were probably the best fried pickles I'd ever had and we order them often from other places. Wife ordered the spring roll appetizers and they were as good as any other place. Nothing special. Most all my family ordered the hibachi dinner and it was a very good hibachi. I wouldn't say the best but really good. I came for the sushi and I couldn't remember the specialty roll I ordered but it was really good. The rest of my sushi order was sashimi. The sushi all in all was really good. Presentation was very nice. I'd like to try it again before I give 5 stars. I think the place was just simply talked up so much that expected better but it is definitely a solid 4 star spot. Not the cheapest of places. They were really busy when we went and I thought the service was good and pretty quick. The decor and atmosphere was really good and the place was clean for those who tend to weight in on that a lot. I'd definitely go back but it would not be somewhere that I couldn't wait for. read more

Georgetown is a lovely little town, but many places aren't open this time of year. We stopped here for lunch. Seated quickly and didn't have to wait long for our server. Friend got shrimp tacos and I got a burger. Very good, came with sweet potato fries. They shouldn't add sugar to the fries. Fries would have been tastier without. It was pretty crowded which made me a bit nervous, but we didn't hang around after we ate. read more

We wanted a place to stop on our way from Charleston to Myrtle beach for good seafood. We stopped in Georgetown around 3pm and not much to choose from. This place caught our eye as we drove down Front street. It was amazing!!!! I started with a delicious Bloody Mary. We got Bang Bang shrimp and a cup of SHE soup to share. The shrimp was decent but the soup was off the chain. We were about to fight over the last bite! Lol I ordered two speciality rolls. The sexy roll and competition roll. The sexy roll was an awesome mix of different levels of spicy but I never felt the need to reach for my water. The competition roll was an amazing mix of flavors I never got on a sushi roll. Topped with thin slices of mango and bursting with flavor. One of the rolls my husband got was the crazy boy roll. The manliest roll ever topped with thin slices of filet mignon. He was a happy man. The whole place has a homey southern feel with a new generation twist. The staff was attentive and super friendly. Love this place! read more

Georgetown is so so beautiful. We stayed near Myrtle Beach and it's an approximately a 40 minute drive. A wonderful day trip. The history alone is worth the drive. We stumbled into the Rollin Local by accident. We thought it was something totally different! We were pleasantly surprised. This sushi/hibachi/American/southern restaurant is such a pleasant surprise! When we sat I was nervous the kids would be without options. I was SO wrong. Their kid's menu was awesome. The fried corn on the cob was off the charts! The sushi and hibachi was so tasty and what a great value! The homemade salad dressing was so delicious. Service was impeccable. Hostess, servers and bartenders were on top of everything for our whole experience. I'm so glad we stopped. Highly recommend! read more

Very poor first impression. The door greeter was unfriendly yet we wanted to try the place. We were sat and ignored. Understand if place was extremely busy but it wasn't. I had to go look for the door greeter or anyone about getting any service. Decided it was best not to spend any money at this establishment. Came here for the first time. The sushi was amazing and fresh. The service was good for a lunch session. The bento box was a good value alone was enough to fill me but I ate with my eyes lol. Used to be my fav place in Georgetown. Now on ny list of not going back anytime soon. Tonight the tuna was smelly and tasted awful. Totally wigged me out. Waiter was obviously. Decided to take my daughter to dinner last night and we settled in Rollin Local have dined here several times and the food has been awesome but last night our meals were lukewarm so that didn't make for an awesome dining experience. My daughter was pretty much over it ...... asked for boxes, paid the bill and left! I don't know what happened and I was surprised at that ! I would go back but it will be a while. read more

Went to this little gem in my hometown for the first time. The food was delicious, quick service and attentive staff. Frank our waiter was really good and gave a great suggestion to order the Local Lovers Roll as they have numerous sushi options. Soooo good!! Bang bang shrimp also very good. This place is so good. Had the poke with salmon, the tuna roll, spring rolls wrapped in rice paper, and the calamari salad. All were simply delicious! We also had a spicy bloody that was also very good. The prices were so cheap, we thought the portions would be super small as well, we were wrong. We shared everything and left completely full and satisfied. Definitely recommend this place. We will be back here next year when we return to the area. read more

Root is definitely worth checking out, it's a little pricier than some other spots but the food and service were worth it, give them a try!

I dialed up my app and made a 7PM reservation for three. We pulled in about 6:50 and found a spot right in front of the restaurant...it was going to be a good night. We got inside and chose to sit indoors near the bar. My father likes to see people and I felt this would be a good spot to do this and it was. The restaurant was mid century modern in design, airy and uncluttered...we were seated in a booth - chair combo that was a rendition of that style. We looked at the drink menu and my father went for a glass of Pinot Noir, his friend went for a lemon drop martini and I went for a Heineken 00. The waitress couldn't be nicer and quickly brought us our drinks. The lemon drop was perfect and served in an ice cold steel martini glass while my father was quite happy with his California Pinot. We reviewed the food menu and decided to share two "tables"...the deviled eggs and the pimento cheese dip with home made pork rinds. Within a few minutes, four deviled eggs arrived dressed up with a slice of jalapeño and sprinkled with bacon bits. A large plate of fresh pork rinds with homemade pimento cheese came out simultaneously. The deviled eggs were excellent with just the right texture and not too moist...the bacon bits added another layer of flavor and the jalapeño gave it a nice kick, however, the pork rinds and pimento cheese stole the show. The rinds were light and fluffy with just the right amount of crunch and the pimento cheese was superb...very flavorful with nice chunks of pimento and grated cheese. My father was diving in on the cheese so fast it was tough to get some. His lady friend also commented on how good it was. Next came the mains. My father settled in the American Waygu Burger with hand cut fries, I went for the lamb rack with string beans and roasted fingerling potatoes and the lady went for the Arugula salad with candied pecans, Granny Smith apples , goat cheese and craisins. My lamb was excellent...medium rare with a nice flavorful crust with a hint of garlic and herbs. The potatoes were well roasted and tasty while the string beans were cooked correctly but a tad bland. The arugula salad was delicious with a nice citrus dressing that played well with the candied pecans and craisins...the smith apples was a nice contrast. My father in the other hand, ate way too much pimento cheese and rinds and as a result just picked in his fries, which were excellent...salted well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. He ended up taking the burger home. Amazingly, when dessert was brought up he was all in. Although known for their "Butter Cake" we decided to share(and by share I mean my father had about 90% of it) the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake. Turns out it's as good as it sounds...intense chocolate flavor in a very moist cake with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream on the side...top notch. Sadly, it was getting late and my father had an early plane to catch so we got the bill(more reasonable than I expected), tipped the excellent waitress and said our good nights. We made plans to come back in September...although I'll be back well before that...Bar 19 Twelve will be going on my rotation.

The food is awesome, out of this world delicious. I would give this restaurant a 5, great except the wait staff are not properly trained and lack social and communication skills. Food is brought out randomly, sometimes you get your meal before appetizers, sometimes several minutes before others at your table, or sometimes you're overwhelmed because it comes out all at once. There are even times when part of your meal is brought out after you tell the waiter it's missing. Once we had a young woman standing at the end of our table staring at us and not saying anything. When we acknowledged her, she asked if she could take something away for us... we were still eating. Like I said, this is a great restaurant, but if the wait staff are not retrained and expected to act like adults and speak to customers, not make them feel like an imposition who owes them a 20% tip, it can go downhill from here.
