If you're ever walking around Little Tokyo you'll see many people drinking matcha, and 8/10 times…read morethat matcha is from Cafe Dulce! I've been a regular at Dulce for quite some time now, so much so the staff greet me warmly when I come in and already know what my order will be from drinks to food. I would love to highlight each and every one of their staff but by that point I would just be listing all their employees. I love how quickly they tend to customers, even when the line is egregiously long (mostly mornings, lunch, and weekends) they are so kind and helpful. Their service never falters. My favorite drink is their popular blueberry matcha (I love it with oat milk). Its sweet but not too sweet and perfect for people who want a little something different than just plain matcha. Even people who I know who don't normally enjoy matcha love this matcha. They also have a variety of good pastries that my family gets by the box. My personal favorite is the snowcat roti. For when I'm hungry for a meal I usually grab the pastrami sandwich its delicious but make sure you go before the kitchen closes at 6pm for a hot meal. There are plenty of seating indoor and outdoor with umbrellas and tables. You usually spot people with a laptop or sketch book or just hanging at the tables with friends. Overall, an amazing cafe located at the heart of Little Tokyo. I'd argue at this point its definitely a tourist destination if you're visiting for the first time!

I was welcomed in and the employees were super friendly and it was clean and bright inside. They're famous for those oversized cookies. I grabbed a few cookies and baguette with butter and jam. It's also been all over TikTok and other social media, and from what we could see it's pretty controversial, so we were curious which side we'd land on. My wife and I ordered the chocolate chip cookie and a coconut crunch cookie, or something like that. We knew going in that these are thicker cookies, but once we actually looked at them and tasted them, I would not consider this a cookie at all. To me it's way more of a scone than a cookie. The density and thickness are not a cookie by any means, and we were not impressed. The flavor just wasn't there either. There are also way too many chocolate chips in the chocolate chip cookie, and the coconut one was pretty mild on flavor. For the price you pay, the cookie versus the flavor versus the quality just did not add up. I don't understand if there's hype about this place or what, and I can see why there's controversy over whether these are good cookies, bad cookies, or cookies at all. We even tried to heat them up back at home to see if that would relax the density of these things, and did not do a thing besides just make them crunchy and harder to eat. I lean toward the side that this is not a cookie joint. It's more of a scone or bakery joint. We were thoroughly disappointed, we probably won't come back, and honestly I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a cookie spot.

We tried a pancetta biscuit and a kouign amann, perhaps the world's best pastry with the craziest name. Both of them were excellent. The crust on each item was perfect. For my taste, it was not very complex but for a caffeine/chocolate rush, I cannot complain. Street parking only. Parking is a little tough in this area. The collab started today and will last until the 31st. The store opens at 7am , but even though I got there around 8:30 and there was no line they still managed to sell out of a majority of the limited edition Kuromi themed pastries. Which was a little heart breaking, but also understandable. I ended up ordering the Kuromi Berry lemonade and some of their more popular items like the D Tia Blue (blueberry/cream cheese filled pastry) and the Japanini. Everything hit the spot as expected, but the highlight of my visit was definitely that berry lemonade! It had the perfect sweet to sour ratio and it looked very whimsical with its purple hue. I'll definitely be back to order that again and maybe I'll have better luck next time with the availability of the limited edition pastries. It wasn't as busy as it typically gets so took advantage of the opportunity and I dined in. During my visit I adored the Kuromi decor around the story. It was definitely picture worthy. They also have the cutest merch available for sale and of course I bought a sticker sheet to add to my sticker collection. The workers also wore pretty purple Kuromi hats and aprons, which is also included in their merch for sale fyi. This was my 2nd time trying these and our hopes were high BUT the raspberry was just awful the filling was strange and it had just raspberry jam inside,I dint eat it. The mango was okay so we shared that. The coffee bean was just awful as well so we didn't finish that either. The orange was the best of the group but overall just a disappointing experience once again because these are not cheap. I'm starting to think I might just have to give up my journey to find these although there are some places in Vegas that look promising. I don't think Reno has any bakeries that make these. I asked whether they had any others, and an employee told me they had been flash frozen and were in the freezer. She brought one out for me. I asked, "Was this made today?" and was told yes, so I bought it. I was very disappointed when I got home and cut it in half. I understand that a handmade dessert won't look exactly like a photo, but this was far from what I had expected. I called the bakery to explain my concern. The person I spoke with did not let me finish explaining and insisted, "That could never happen." She also asked why I was saying that and told me to bring the mochi back. I had gone out of my way to visit early that morning, so being told to make another trip was frustrating. The phone conversation left me more upset than the mochi itself. This was my second visit.
