In the back of Windmill Food Hall was Rolled Up. As my first time visiting, I decided to walk though and check out all the food options 1st. As soon as I saw sushi burrito, I was sold. The menu was intriguing with many sushi burrito options, plus rolls, bowls, etc. I decided to try the salmon burrito and it was fantastic. There was 1 person taking orders. Ordering took just a couple minutes. There is a sign stating they are short staffed and to be patient. After seeing that, I expected food to take a good amount of time to be ready. I found my friend and picked a seat on the other side of the food hall where daylight was still brightening up the place. As soon as I sat down, my buzzer vibrated and my meal was ready. It was much faster than expected. I was impressed with the food quality, portion size, price and service. I would definitely eat from this establishment again. Parking was also very easy, plentiful, and free.

California Burrito

After driving by The Windmill Food Hall plenty of times, I finally made the decision to stop by for a visit. Being that my daughter is obsessed with sushi, Rolled Up was naturally the choice for her dinner. Here you will find: rice bowls, sushi burritos, musubis, and an assorted list of sushi rolls. I placed an order for the California Burrito which includes: krab, avocado, unagi sauce, sushi rice, carrots, cucumbers, green onions, lettuce, and sesame seeds. I requested for everything except carrots. The sushi burrito was beautifully made. Everything was wrapped up neatly and the filling was great aside from there being more lettuce than I would have liked. Ingredients are fresh and the portions are good in size. I might have to try the longanisa musubi next time. 4 stars for Rolled Up. I may just go with the regular california roll the next time around for my little one but she definitely had a good time having her very first sushi burrito.

Kiddos ate here today and ordered: 1) California roll - decent and includes 8 pcs 2) spam musubi - 8 pcs!, each person ate 4 of them. 2 spam musubi cost $9. That's how much they love spam musubi.

Rolled Up Sushi at Windmill Food Hall -- absolutely wrapped in flavor The teriyaki bowl hits all the right notes, the sushi selections are crafted to perfection, and the longanisa musubi is a bold, crave-worthy standout. Every bite delivers. Come check out @rolledupsd @windmillfoodhall Love the burritos are soo big, love the musubis, staff is super friendly :)

Light dinner Fast food choice at the windmill food hall. Located in the very inside of the food hall, there are plenty of indoor seating and lots of parking . For this one, you sever yourself. Make sure bring your cellphone to get order information. Here is casual place for food. Got the poke bowl, the lettuce is very fresh -- crispy and juicy. The poke is fresh, seasoning was ok a bit too salty for me. The ingredients are definitely fresh. Seasoning needs extra star effort.

Surf and Turf Burrito - small - spicy - no bulgogi flavor - seaweed is hard to bite through - not much shrimp Upstream Bowl - decent amount of salmon - does not come with seaweed salad Seaweed salad - a little spicy - tasty Spam Masubi - pricy

Stopped by the Windmill Food Hall for a snack before my hike and decided on here. Tried their Longanisa musubi and Spam musubi combo for $10. Super good flavor especially of the Longanisa one. I don't usually see that type of musubi so I was impressed. Both musubi didn't hold up well, breaking apart after the first bite. Didn't bother me tho. I think it was the sauce in them that I really enjoyed. You order on a kiosk so no real human interaction. Food was ready in about 10 min. Came with a little Hi Chew candy which was cute.

We came here after a day of fun at Legoland and let me tell you this place did not disappoint!! We got the "the works" sushi burrito which had krab, salmon, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, eel sauce, spicy mayo and it was heavenly. I felt the nori was still crunchy and you can tell everything was made to order. The fish was cold, temperature perfect because nobody likes warm sushi. It's inside the Windmill food hall so think of Anaheim packing district, and all the trendy food halls with an abundance of seating for you and company. We need to come back to try other things on their menu. Amazing execution guys!! Love love love!

Definitely will be coming here when I come down to Carlsbad. The burrito was bomb!!! It's easily like 3 or 4 rolls. 16 bucks but easily worth it and then some!!

Stopped by The Windmill Food Hall before heading to Carlsbad Premium Outlets for a quick bite. With 13 vendors and a full bar inside the iconic windmill, there were plenty of options, but I ended up at Rolled Up Sushi, and I'm so glad we did. We ordered The Works Sushi Burrito, and it truly lives up to its name, packed with salmon, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, krab, avocado, spicy mayo, and eel sauce all wrapped into one massive, flavor-loaded bite. Bold, saucy, and seriously satisfying. We also tried the longanisa musubi which is slightly sweet, savory, and such a crave-worthy twist on a classic. And we ordered the bulgogi with salmon poke bowl, which was fresh, flavorful, and loaded with generous portions of protein. Overall, everything was fresh, well-prepared, and definitely filling (come hungry!). The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

Located inside the windmill food hall toward the very back. Order at the KIOSK. I got a spicy poke bowl . It was really fresh and tasty but so small for the price, very disappointing.

Spicy Rolled Up Poke

Parking: Located in the Windmill Food Hall, there's a lot of parking space available. Spicy Rolled Up Poke: SO SO GOOD. Spicy Tuba wasn't that spicy but fish was fresh. Wrap was manageable to eat overall. Sushi burrito reminds me of a on the go poke bowl. Would highly come back to try again even though it's on the pricey side. If you want a light filling then I would share between two people. If you can eat heavy, then one burrito will make you feel content but not full.

The staff was moving quickly but stopped to check on us in passing. I'm all about two specific dishes. The TNT was so tasty. I loved the fried onions on top of the roll. I've never had anything like this. The onions weren't soft in the middle and fries on the outside. Such a great addition. As for the TROPICAL SEARED CARPACCIO, just woooow. It's not what I expected! It's like a nigiri but instead of rice it had imitation crab on the bottom. To top it all off it had cilantro and a tiny slice of lime on top. Yum, it was so fresh and delicious. I keep craving these guys! Can't wait to come back.

It wasn't too sunny and had a breeze. I don't know if it is everyday, but the bar downstairs had karaoke. The food was delicious and portions were big. The Beach Bum is their version of a spicy tuna on crispy rice. Each bite was a mouthful and it was delicious. I ordered their salmon skin roll, thinking it would be a small roll since I wasn't that hungry. Well, I struggle to finish it all. It was just too much for me. My daughter order the Tasha Combo 1. It says substitution, but my daughter is allergic to shrimp. They were able to swap it out with another salmon for an up charge. She enjoyed it a lot. We also got two Udon soups, which my wife and son liked a lot. My other daughter got the Salmon Teriyaki, which she loved. For the vegetarian, there is a good variety. The udon soup is vegetarian and we just got one without the fish cakes. We also got the fried tofu without the bonito flakes (which is fish). Overall, a very nice place for Japanese food. We definitely will come again.

It was beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious! For the price, I thought it was a great deal. It came with three thick slices of seven different types of sashimi, plus uni and seaweed salad. We sat outside on the patio and loved the bright decor and chill atmosphere. Service was quick, and our server was super sweet and attentive. It was the perfect lunch after a good workout. It's a little more expensive here compared to other Carlsbad sushi restaurants. But with your very first bite, you'll immediately realize why this sushi is a bit more expensive. It's worth it! It was a great day. The sushi melted in your mouth. Each plate of sushi was decorated by a sushi master. I've had my fair share of sushi in my life. I stated eating sushi in 1984, I'm 66 now and I still love a sushi restaurant with a bit of flare. Blue Ocean checked all of the boxes. Nothing, not one thing we ordered disappointed us. It was just the opposite, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. It really was perfection on a plate. The service here was a level up from other sushi restaurants. It's an amazing day when great food gets combined with stellar service. Then and only then, you know it's going to be a great night out. It only takes one bad bite to send you reeling. The ambiance and the decor of Blue Ocean is top notch. I don't think anyone else can truly compete with them. We moved East 18 months ago. We have not found a sushi restaurant that can even boast reasonable sushi. But Carlsbad can. Well done Blue Ocean, you all made my day! From start to finish, your team was spot on with whatever we needed. It was the perfect storm. Sushi for everyone! We ordered the Earthquake cut role, Padres, 3 cuts of Blue Fin belly sushi, Sweet Shrimp, spicy Yellowtail cut roll, Albacore sushi, and there's more that I can't even remember right now, but we enjoyed every single bite. I highly recommend Blue Ocean. You will not be disappointed.

We started with edamame and miso soup, followed by the Pink Roll and my returning favorite, the Vegas Roll. The Pink Roll was fresh and flavorful, with spicy tuna and cucumber topped with salmon, avocado, and spicy mayo. The Vegas Roll was just as good as I remembered, salmon, crab, avocado, and cream cheese, deep-fried and finished with eel sauce and spicy mayo. There's a reason I ordered it again, and recommend it to anyone going. Unfortunately, customer service was noticeably lacking. We honestly couldn't tell you who our server was. Four different employees seated us, took our order, brought the food, and eventually brought water. Nobody checked on us during the meal or asked if we wanted anything to drink. I finally had to flag down a random waitress just to get water, which was never refilled. It was busier than my previous visit, so I understand the staff may have been stretched thin, but the level of customer care definitely slipped on this visit.

We specifically reserved seating at the bar hoping for a 'sushi bar' experience where you interact with the sushi chefs. Not the case here. There were four non-Japanese sushi chefs who otherwise spoke little to no English. Ordering was done through the waiters/waitresses. Disappointed in this. Typical sushi menu with traditional sashimi and nigiri as well as California-style creative rolls. Overall, the sushi here is good but nothing special. Also a typical drink menu. Sapporo on draft which is a plus! Decent sake menu by the carafe or by the bottle. Service was a bit slow for how few patrons there were. And it seemed like a lot of the chefs and servers were just standing around and talking. Not recommended if you're a sushi aficionado.
