A friend I follow on Yelp and Instagram has tried this place and made me want to visit it. I can't believe this is Rokkatei's first location in the U.S., and we get to enjoy it here in Rancho Cucamonga, located in Victoria Gardens. So awesome to get to enjoy Hokkaido sweets so close to home. The store is very cute, organized well, spacious, and tastefully designed. Love the floral decor on the walls, bags, and packaging. Service here is exceptional. We were the only ones in the store when we visited, and we got to sample the white chocolate covered strawberries as well as the newer Marusei cookie sandwich, since the best seller was sold out. The cookie sandwich tasted like an Oreo on steroids--so delicious! The white chocolate covered strawberries were what brought us in here today and they did not disappoint. We bought some of the strawberries, a matcha white chocolate for each of us and some of the Marusei toffee. It's a little on the pricier side, but I would expect that with something so good and authentic. Definitely a cute place to hit up for gifts, special occasions, or just because!

Marusei Butter Cookie Sandwich

The opening of Rokkatei in California, marks the company's FIRST U.S. location, bringing its famous Hokkaido sweets to American customers for the very first time. Located at Victoria Gardens, this expansion is both a cultural milestone and a unique addition to the Inland Empire's food scene, giving locals access to authentic Japanese desserts without needing to travel abroad. I've been here three times now. The customer service I receive here is always excellent and very attentive. The Marusei butter cookies have buttercream, white chocolate, and a generous serving of rum raisins in the middle. I am addicted to the white chocolate strawberries. I bought them for my family for Christmas too and they all love them as well. You can ask to sample one before you buy

Had to pop into Rokkatei at Victoria Gardens just because the window looked so pretty, and wow... walking in felt like stepping into a luxury jewelry store! Everything is sparkling clean, beautifully displayed under soft lights, all the packaging is gorgeous. Seriously one of the prettiest little shops I've ever seen. The lady working there was an absolute sweetheart -- greeted me right away, super warm and helpful, took her time explaining the different chocolates even though I was just browsing at first. Ended up grabbing a couple of the chocolate bars and I'm obsessed... so ridiculously creamy and smooth, they literally melt in your mouth. Way better than any regular chocolate I've had. A little pricey but you can taste the quality and the whole experience feels special. Already planning my next visit. If you're at Victoria Gardens and love chocolate, cookies (or just pretty things), you have to stop here!! Rich Land Cheese Sables

11/16/2025 RICH LAND CHEESE SABLES Crunchy like a cheese cracker, but tastes like a butter biscuit, but not crumbly in texture. Texture is also a combo of a butter cookie and cracker. Tastes buttery with a slight hint of cheese flavor lingering in the background. The cheeses listed were edam cheese and processed cheese. Overall flavor is light. Not quite sure if people will generally like it. It's neither here nor there flavor-wise. It wasn't unpleasant, but with the texture and light cheese flavor in the background, it is not your typical cracker biscuit cookie. Request for a sample. MATCHA WHITE CHOCOLATE SQUARE Tastes like a typical matcha chocolate. I was expecting a deeper matcha flavor, but it wasn't there. This was just okay. STRAWBERRY CHOCOLATE HIRO-BIRO It does have that Pocky strawberry flavor with a raspberry tang. The thin chocolate coating melts rather quickly, even as you hold it. The biscuit texture was unusual. It's like a layered puff pastry texture. BITTER CHOCOLATE HIRO-BIRO I really enjoyed this pastry-like dessert snack. The semi-sweet chocolate wasn't overly sweet. The puff pastry-like texture was light to bite into. Not too crumbly either. This was my favorite out of everything I've tried. I would get a box of these if they were available. Great for after-dinner dessert snack with a hot coffee or tea, especially given to guests. These were all individually wrapped, so it will be a easy to store and bring out to guests too. WHITE MOCHA CHOCOLATE SQUARE Tastes like light coffee mixed with white chocolate. It does taste like ground up coffee was in it too. No ground coffee texture, but just that slight bitter flavor of it. MARUSEI BUTTER COOKIE SANDWICH Rum and brandy-forward butter cookie sandwich. You can taste the raisins too. Lots of raisins in it too. The cookies were soft, the cream inside was smooth and cold from the refrigeration. I was told to refrigerate it until you're ready to eat. I enjoyed them. I think this is also a pretty good dessert snack to bring to guests if you have guests over for dinner. There are some items you can purchase individually that is not in a box, such as the petite madelines, chocolate squares, and hiro-biros. There are also notebooks, pens, pencils, washi tape, gift cans, cooler bags available for purchase. CUSTOMER SERVICE Only one person working. When I asked if there was samples, she gave me three samples to try! Tried: White Chocolate Strawberry, Rich Land Cheese Sable, and the Marusei Butter Cookie. It was very nice of her to give me three samples. Overall good service and she answered any questions that I've had.

A perfect shop to get your sweet tooth fix! It's like the cereal brand Trix with all the flavors and colors all in the mix! Just thinking about it makes me want to sit down and enjoy a show streaming on Netflix. And believe that's just what I did after coming out of the shop. A big thanks to Sofie or Sofia? For helping me out and taking care of me with all my questions. Since I was a newbie she recommend a few things to go along with the their coffee that I ordered and she also threw in a Shortbread cookie to get me started. So I went with a few eye pleasing and mouthwatering items and I'm not going to name them all but believe me they were all good. I can't really say which was my favorite but I really enjoyed the White Mocha and Bitter Sweet Chocolate. There was so many other flavors I wanted but i had to have a little self control so I'll definitely be on the hunt for them in the future. Like maybe tomorrow?! L to the O to the L! Overall it was a pleasant experience and the service was top notch. I love that they also give you a few samples before buying. The shop is small but they do have a couple of tables and chairs to chill at. And that's my take on it, Peace out...

This place definitely surprised me and was actually pretty good. I'm not the one to usually buy sweets unless it's ice cream or cookies but I bought their white chocolate strawberries and menkoi petite madeleine's and it was good! The staff working there was super nice too!

The first time I visited there were 2 ladies working and they were super helpful and friendly. They offered samples which I totally appreciated. The Butter cookies were so good I just had to get them. In fact, I went back to get more to gift to colleagues on my last work trip. I'm happy to see this Japanese confectionery store local to me.

I was so excited (and honestly surprised) to see Rokkatei open their very first overseas store here at Victoria Gardens! Until now, I thought they were only in Hokkaido, so this felt really special. The Marusei butter sandwich cookies were excellent -- buttery and rich with just the right hint of rum from the raisins. The staff suggested chilling them, and they were right: the filling tastes almost like ice cream when cold. I also tried the Mocha chocolate -- strong coffee flavor, a little on the sweet side, but perfect when paired with an actual coffee. The shop itself is beautifully designed, very clean and minimal with that Japanese gift shop feel. The packaging is gorgeous and makes everything feel like a thoughtful present. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and patiently explained the products to me. I'll definitely be coming back to try more and stock up -- so happy we now have a piece of Hokkaido here in SoCal!

Kiyoto K.

This is a long-established confectionery shop in Hokkaido, Japan, founded in 1933. Their raisin butter sandwiches are exquisite. It's like a dream that they've opened a store in Los Angeles, California! Even in Tokyo, it's difficult to get hold of their products. The staff speak Japanese and provide very kind and attentive service. You should definitely try their raisin butter sandwiches; you'll be hooked!

Every visit feels like a mini trip to the Middle East -- the flavors are authentic, bold, and so thoughtfully crafted. The customer service is next-level. They are genuinely kind, welcoming, and always offering free samples so you can taste before you buy (which is dangerous in the best way because you'll want everything). You can tell they truly care about their customers and take pride in what they do. On top of all that, the prices are very affordable for the quality you're getting. Fresh, flavorful, and fairly priced -- it doesn't get better than that. If you love amazing food, friendly service, and supporting local family businesses, Master Nuts is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

I've had really good experiences at this store up until recently…read more I really enjoy the fact that it's a family owned business and the people are very friendly. Everything I've tried from here so far has been good- Turkish coffee, dried chickpeas, and assorted nuts. However, I came in yesterday and got some Jordan almonds in a prepackaged bag that were on sale. When I ate them I noticed something was a bit off with the taste. I looked at the expiration date only to see that they were manufactured in 2021 and expired in 2023. No worries, they're so nice at the store, I would bring them back and surely be refunded I thought. I was wrong. They told me they were on sale because they expired. They didn't indicate this when purchasing. They said they checked with the health department who said they can sell food that is 3 years past the expiration date as long as it was reduced in price. Something about this doesn't seem correct to me. Surely you'd have to advertise that they're expired or let your consumer know, especially because these tasted awful. The woman was nice and offered me some nuts in return, and even though that was very kind I don't think I'll be frequenting this store again if they're in practice of selling expired food.

We've…read morealso visited their Pasadena location, and the quality and service have been consistently excellent at both. Our family has tried the gelato, affogato, and cookies, and everything has always been amazing. My personal favorite is the pistachio gelato. It has a rich, natural pistachio flavor without tasting artificial. They currently have a seasonal strawberry shortcake flavor that is also really good. The gelato is smooth, dense, and incredibly creamy. It is on the pricier side, but you can taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Since gelato is denser than regular ice cream, even a small serving is surprisingly filling, so I still feel it's worth the price. They allow you to sample flavors before ordering, which is helpful because they have several great options. There always seems to be a line out the door, but the staff keeps it moving quickly. The shop is clean but has very limited seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go dessert spot. Since it's located inside the Victoria Gardens outdoor mall, you'll need to park in one of the mall's lots or parking garages and walk over. Overall, this is the perfect place to stop for dessert after lunch or dinner at Victoria Gardens. We'll definitely continue coming back.

I've tried this store several times over months, and the service is always poor. Claremont proves Philz CAN deliver GREAT service, so WHATEVER is happening at Victoria Gardens is specific to this team. Every time without fail when I walk in, there is no greeting at all. No "welcome," no acknowledgment, nothing. Today, two employees were sitting and clearly saw me, yet said nothing -- but they greeted the woman who walked in behind me and again as she left. The selective acknowledgment is noticeable and uncomfortable. My drink was marked "ready" at 8:10 on the app, but it wasn't even started. The person listed as having "finished" it didn't make it. Another employee eventually did, but she was so wrapped up in conversation with a guy at the counter that my "ready" drink wasn't actually done until 8:15. Then the younger employee with glasses acted annoyed that I even approached the counter. She mumbled "Who are you waiting for," and when I gave my name, she looked around then said "We're working on it," even though they clearly weren't. They went right back to laughing and talking with each other. As I was leaving, they greeted another customer -- again proving they simply CHOOSE who to acknowledge. This location is consistently unprofessional, inattentive, and dismissive. For $8 a cup, this is not the Philz experience anyone should expect. I'll continue going out of my way to Claremont, because at least they understand basic customer service. At this point, it may be time to reach out to corporate, because this store does not represent the Philz brand that I'm accustomed to.

She took so long to take our drink order after we sat down, that we were ready to order our food when she came around. After she took our drink and food order, we waited 15 mins, and still no drinks. I actually had to ask another waitress for water. When our waitress came by we reminded her about not getting our drinks yet and she copped an attitude and was like "we were busy, yeah I asked someone else to bring the water". Ok. No need to be rude. Thankfully the food was good, so at least that was enjoyable. Our waitress never came by once to check up on us, as we watched other waitresses be more attentive at other tables. Honestly I've had better service at McDonald's. That's embarrassing for a restaurant like The Cut where food prices are not cheap. I'm sure it was just this one individual that was performing poorly, but it left us with a bad experience where we simply don't want to come back, and take our business elsewhere.
