Had our first visit here and we'll definitely be back again really soon! Ashley G was wonderful and really attentive our entire visit. We had a lot of questions about different menu options and concerns about our allergies. She was very careful about ensuring that our food selections met our dietary needs and offered up suggestions of alternatives when needed. She also helped me to select a wine and offered me two different tasting options based on the kinds that I usually order. The atmosphere is super fun and the decoration is themed for a tiki room / speakeasy vibe. The chairs are made of leopard print and there are some animal themes throughout, notably the carpeted areas. I opted for the truffle edamame and the Royal roll, both were absolutely wonderful and I would order them again. If you're looking for an intimate date night or cute girls night, then Roka Hula is for you. It is a cute speakeasy located inside Voodoo Bayou. In order to enter this beautiful establishment, you must sit in the two chairs on the wall while it spins you into another realm. The ambiance was literally to die for ! It was decorated exceptionally well and the vibes were vibing !! Our waitress was very welcoming and knowledgeable about her drink craft. She gave suggestions upon request and explained the reasoning behind each column of the drink menu. I ordered the kinky kitty which was very tasty. my friend order the el narco and the design along with side piece blew my mind ! For my entree, I ordered the Maine lobster sushi roll and my friend got the pork belly baos. Everything was a 10/10 !!!! I would definitely return to order the Maine lobster roll again. This place is everything that I am all about. I like the creative mishmash of everything from the cheetah print everywhere on the carpet, chairs, bar top, walls, menu to the colorful lights and plants. And to top it off the waterfall was the best part, hearing that water trickling down. Forget about the cool moving roundabout chairs to get in the place Drinks were on fire and service was prompt. Everything I can ask for in a swanky lounge. Definitely want to try some of their dimsum items They were out of the go go devil drink which was on the top of my list to try. The monkey business had a yummy banana flavor and the sweet honeydew drink were on the favs, followed by the balanced hell boy and freaky Franky - too tart for me There's no signage but you can find it inside, once you go in, by the entrance, of the Voodoo Bayou restaurant on the right. Let me start off by saying this is a cute place for photo ops! I went on a Saturday night and it was very packed. I highly recommend that you make reservations. Roka Hula is an incredible addition to the area. First, getting a reservation is quite difficult, but were able to snag a couple seats at the bar by asking at the counter. I'm so delayed in sharing this review, but I absolutely loved Roka Hula and I have been there at least two more times since my first visit. The small and intimate spot is designed as a speakeasy with a super fun secret entrance. My absolute favorite here is the banana old-fashioned. That said, it is a tiki bar and I do find it worth noting that if you have an allergy to cinnamon, this is not the place for you. The last time I was there, we sat next to a couple that ordered a drink with cinnamon on it and the table side presentation of that drink and with myself and my dining partner being essentially coated in a layer of cinnamon. It immediately made me think of my friend's husband that would've been in a lot of trouble in that situation. And honestly, it made me feel a certain way about the safety of people with an allergy to cinnamon. Hopefully they just know not to go into Tiki bars? I mentioned it to the manager and I didn't feel he took it seriously which is actually the only reason I'm taking it down to a four star because of that. Piggybacking to my Voodoo Bayou review, Roka Hula is the speakeasy part. We went here for drinks after eating at Voodoo. The entry experience is cool, sitting on the thrown/chairs and you slowly spin into the speakeasy. It is a little odd as you enter as people are sitting at tables eating but ‍ enjoy the moment (you do have the option to walk around, but where's the fun in that?) The service and drinks are amazing. The drinks are super fun and themed. Again slightly pricey, so not a regular thing for me; but definitely a cool place and great service if you're looking to try something different. We have heard the food is good, less options than in Voodoo just fyi. read more

Pork Belly Rice bowl was solid, it was a bit on the sweeter side. The bao buns were very good and filling. The tuna tartare is their prize item. The sushi rolls were regular and did not stand out. They changed their cocktail menu but I preferred the previous menu. The cocktails are definitely for sweeter palates even when you don't expect them to be. Now the happy hour menu had lots to offer! We actually tried items on their regular menu this time around. We tried the Shrimp Scallop Shumai and the Birria Egg Rolls; so delish! Roka Hula is one of the coolest speakeasies and cocktail bars I have been to in Orlando! You enter through Voodoo Bayou, and then you can sit in two chairs that rotate on a platform and turn you into the speakeasy! Roka Hula's ambiance was a 10/10- eclectic lights covered the ceiling, cheetah print decked out the carpet and bar, and the music was great. The bartender was hilarious and did an awesome job explaining some of the drinks in the menu. The drinks are on the pricey side, but I think they were worth it. I grabbed a Frankenstein, which is a twist on the classic zombie, and yes it was set on fire. The presentation on all of the drinks were incredible, and I was super impressed that they make a lot of syrups and components of the drinks in house. Awesome new speak easy tiki spot in Dr Phillips/Orlando area As a huge tiki fan, I find myself often having to travel a ways north of the area to find great tiki spots, so having one here is very welcomed. Situated within Voodoo Bayou (another great restaurant/bar), you enter through a rotating wall into an area with quite a few tables and ample bar seating. The decor and lighting are very welcoming and provide for a great atmosphere to enjoy some food and drinks. The food in here is completely different from the other restaurant, with more Polynesian/Asian offerings. The pork belly rice bowl is one of my favorites, being delicious and a great portion as well. There's also a great range of cocktails that are both unique and tasty. I would like to see an expansion to their drink menu in the future though, as it features a smaller menu and I feel it could offer more. read more

Great experience! What the whole experience! Went with a couple of friends and we tried a couple of things. For food, we did the edamame, 2 rolled (branzino, rainbow) and tuna tartare. For the edamame, for dairy free - remove parm and ask for it to be cooked without the butter (wish they had signs on their menus...). The Branzino roll was decent, a bit more on the fishy side for me but it was fresh and light. The rainbow roll was also decent, I was the menu was a little more descriptive.. I also got a couple of the cocktails cause that's what they are known for right?! I got the colada and also the freaky franky and they were both on the sweeter sides but still very tasty and has the experience to it. I also tried the Tea-Ki time which was also an experience! The tea concoction had a bunch of stuff but it was tasty tea. Environment This has a secret entrance, reservations recommended. This was VERY VERY VERY thoroughly decorated! A lot of thoughts put into this. Very themed. There quite a number of seats inside. Niceness of the staff Very nice staff to do the experiences, knowing people would want to take photos etc. Also since everything is tapas style, they took orders and brought orders as you order. Dollar IT WAS EXPENSIVE. For me, this is not a regular casual outing spot, it is more of a special occasion outing for me. Went here for after-dinner drinks to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were a group of 9 on a Saturday night. We made reservations which was a good call. It can get pretty busy and the space isn't large. We had the choice of entering through the special chairs or walking through a side door. Since there were so many of us, we let the birthday girl go for a ride and the rest of us walked through the door. They have a special cocktail menu or you can order whatever you want. Their specialty cocktails looked fun and some of them came in cute glasses. I will say that the drinks are pricey. We did not eat here. I did look at the menu and was intrigued. Loved everything about this place, from the decor to the food down to the carpet! Me and my bestie shared all of our food tapas style and was surprised with each bite. The ginger tuna crispy rice had the perfect mix of savory, saucy, and crunchy! I loveeee dimsum so i will say my expectation for the pork & shrimp dumpling was high..I thought they were okay personally. The flavor wasn't all there for me. The of the show was the pork belly fried rice! You can tell they marinated the pork belly prior. It had a rich savory and sweet flavor that paired perfectly with the fluffy fried rice. The decor was sooooo perfect all around. The cheetah carpet was my favorite small detail. We got the same cocktail which we thought was just adorable with the gold coating on the star fruit. Another hidden gem. I didn't even know that this place ever existed nor that I really hear about it. I was just drove by it and didn't think much of it. But me and a partner went in here. We looked at the menu and fell in love so we decided to order drinks and food. She decided to order the baos based off her prognosis, it must have been delicious. I decided to go with the Branzino sushi and I was in heaven. If I have anything negative to say about this restaurant is that it is a bit overpriced. Otherwise the food is delicious and decor is really something that will blow you away. The waiter that we had her name was taiës and she was truly full of smiles and full of life, and truly explained the menu extremely well. We were excited before we even started ordering. Once the conversation ended in the food started coming to the table, we devoured it in a matter of 30 minutes. Again, absolutely delicious with the fact that one of my drinks were set on fire and comes with a little bit of cinnamon on top before it served. It was truly lovely to see and I really really really like this place. I'm sure I'll be back in about a couple couple of months or so in order to try the second half of this restaurant. Second time around was a charm! We had Faith as our server and she was great. This time I had the go-go devil cocktail, which was in the sweeter side, but so refreshing and enjoyable. The Maine lobster roll is a must; the blend of flavors was amazing and leaves you wanting more! Stopped by for their new happy hour. The decor and vibes are amazing! We got the Lychee Martini and Mai Tai for drinks. Both drinks were made perfectly! We got the Korean Bao Bun, Salmon Nigiri, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Pork Gyoza off the happy hour. Out of all the dishes the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Pork Gyoza were the highlights! I was so excited to check another speakeasy off the list! Roka Hula has been all over Instagram so once I had the chance I just had to run over! Something to note about this place - if you want to experience the chair then you have to make a reservation. They take walk ins if there's availability at their bar, but they walk you in their side entrance. The inside is lush and decorated with skulls, animal print, and the same jeweled orbs like what you would see at Permanent Vacation. We went to the bar as we were told there was space, but when we got up there, only one seat was open so my husband stood until someone left halfway through our meal. For our drinks we ordered the go-go devil (lychee lovers, you'll want to order this), the devil's grin (old fashioned), and the tea party for two which is a stunning show with your tea! Sake, yuzu, blood orange tea, and some other great ingredients made that tea my favorite drink of the night! Now on to the food! For our appetizer we ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings which was shumai in a ginger broth. It ended up being a great pairing of flavors, but I just wanted more lol! I took the sushi route and got their rainbow roll (DELICIOUS), while my husband ordered the pork belly fried rice. I tried a few bites of his, and it was some of the better pork belly that I've had in a restaurant. The rice could've been stickier to make it easier to eat but still a yummy dish! I'm not sure that everything on the menu warrants the price tag attached to it, but you have to keep in mind that part of that price comes from the experience.
