This system has been a nightmare. I should've left the old system in. This thing has cost me so much money and is now out of warranty. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. Years later, I'm still dealing with this system. Roger's refusal to work on his own system and installation has cost me thousands. I have been told by multiple heating and air repair people that this system that was sold to me as new is either refurbished or used. NO REBATE WAS FILLED BY ROGER BROWN: After 3+ months, I called the City of Austin to find out about the status of my rebate check. Apparently, Roger never bothered to submit the paperwork and without the paperwork and his signature, there will be no rebate. Perhaps he didn't submit the paperwork because he didn't want the city to inspect his substandard work. Do not hire this guy. He did not do my job to code, and the TDLR made him remove his equipment. Thankfully, my credit card company reversed the charges he made to my card, so I'm "only" out a few hundred dollars from the damage made to my security system wiring and the hole they put in my ceiling. It was the worst installation of all time. He took 3 days to install my system, and still did not complete it. After several weeks of trying to get him to come back and finish, I eventually had to call a third party for help. It turned out that he had not pulled a permit, nor done the work to code, so I was not going to get the $600 rebate he promised me. If you choose to do business with him based on price, beware. I came across this guy, on a recommendation from one of my clients, after bumping into him on a job. I mentioned I was having long-term A/C issues at my house, as well as having several investment properties. A few months later, I get a call out of the blue, saying he would "make me a deal", as his crews had no work, on one of my investment homes. He comes out, does a partial install, and leaves. Later, when finishing the home, I have to hire another crew to finish his sub-standard work. In the mean time (prior to me knowing his work was substandard - when it all blew apart), he gives me another "deal" on my home and another rent property (idiot me paid him almost 30k for 3 properties, and I am still dealing with repairing his shoddy work). I have him come by my house, and he gives me a great number to put in two a/c units. I asked how he could quote a number without even actually seeing the problem. After going over the specs (which he did not follow), going through the entire house with me, he confirms his quote in writing. He guarantees the system will be totally complete while we are out-of-town for four days. What a mistake I made ( I made three with this guy, all in succession, as he is a talented "grifter"). The day he is to show up at my house, he calls and says the equipment is "not available" (after I paid him 50% of the job two weeks before - to purchase the very equipment), and would give me a "better brand" (no kidding, the day of the install, as we are headed out-of-town). The install is nowhere near complete when we come back. I have a motion sensor camera in my home, and there are people in my house that don't work for him on the photos (he never explained that). The system is done almost entirely incorrectly: leaking ducts; ducts that are not proper insulation rating; holes left to the attic (letting hot air into home); wrong insulation on line sets; crimped flex ducts; electrical connections left taped together; roof jacks put in that leaked in the rain; and a whole list of other items. He says he will "make it right". After "personally guaranteeing" stuff is done, I finally pay him off to simply go away. ABSOLUTELY awful work. Not to code. Will tell you anything to get his money. He complained that I "checked" his work, as "no one ever did". Stay waaaaay away from this installer - regardless of the "great price" he will promiste. I have spent over $5000 having all of his substandard work corrected. read more

I contacted Roger Brown late on Friday evening as my AC was streaming water thru but was not a clogged hose ( I had blown out hose and used bleach ). He answered phone and made arrangements to come in the morning on Sat. After a thorough exam he determined it needed to be taken apart and was able to locate the problem and the damaged coils with cracked pan needed to be replaced. I am new to Central Texas (Georgetown) area so to find reputable companies/contractors to do work for me and in my home is very important to me. My criteria that use to find and hire a contractor is simple. 1. How many years in business; 2. Family owned; 3. Quote or bid falls somewhere in between everyone else's. 4. BBB rating; 5. Word of mouth. Roger gave me a fair quote for a Rheem heat pump unit. He determined what size unit I would need for the amount of square footage I would be trying to heat/cool. He answered all my questions when I had them and his crew was very professional. They took away my old unit plus he showed me everything that had gone wrong with the old unit. I did have a programming issue with my Honeywell thermostat when it was first installed but he came right back and corrected the problem. My unit is working perfectly and I am satisfied with the work that was done. I also did a little homework on my own to make sure that unit that Roger was recommending was accurate. I used a website called acdirect.com. They have a lot of information on how to size units for the square footage of your space and for the climate zone that you live in. Here in central Texas we are in zone 1 so for 400 sq ft of space I would need a 1.5 ton unit which is exactly what Roger recommended. We even went over ductless systems, single zone and multi zone systems and the pros and cons of each. After I had all the information I needed I was able to make a good informed decision. I will definitely use Roger Brown AC again. For those of you who are looking for an AC company I believe Roger Brown is your man. Remember you as the consumer should do your homework and use websites that will help you in your decisions. read more

I had 2 ACs replaced 5 years ago. The primary drain didn't work on one after the installation. It took them 1.5 years and multiple visits to finally fix it. The plenum was mounted wrong. Lots of excuses in between. The coil went out over a week ago. I have an invoice that states 5 year parts and labor warranty which is not being honored. Now, I am paying someone else to fix what should have been under warranty. read more

Mr Brown came to my house and checked out my Ac unit and told me I needed a new one. He replaced the unit inside and out in one day at a great price. And then the Ac at my job in the snack bar area went out. he was there right away and looked at it and took care of the problem. He has done a great job and his service has been excellent. My husband and I have used Roger Brown Air Conditioning since we moved to Round Rock 16 years ago. The first time on a July 4th weekend, after being turned away by four other companies, Roger came by that Friday evening and fixed our air conditioner. :))) We have used his services ever since and have been very satisfied. Bought a new house, that had an AC unit replaced by Roger Brown, before I moved in. Brown did not vacuum all of the nitrogen out, before he charged the unit. The freon mixed with the nitrogen and froze up the unit, that had a five year warranty. I called Brown who refused to come out and honor the warranty, since he put the warranty in sellers name. Brown then said he would come out the next Saturday, but never did show up. I had Fox AC repair come out and suck out all of the freon and nitrogen and replace the filters. The unit was then filled with freon, at 50 dollars a pound. I would assume this is why Brown did not want to come out since my unit took approx 12 pounds. I would also assume this is why all of the nitrogen was not sucked out, so the seller would not have to pay for additional pounds of Freon. Brown AC is a joke of an AC service who does not warrant his warranty. Brown is rude on the phone and a liar. Use brown if you wanna save money for crappy work, or go with another company that is trustworthy. Roger brown score: f-------- read more

My wife and I hired Roger brown air conditioning to put in a new air conditioning unit in our new home in Austin. He wanted 50% and the cost up front which equaled about $7,800. He told us they would come to start work the following week. Not only did they not show up they did not call until 3 weeks later.my wife called the company and they said that they would have a man out there the following day. After a total of 5 weeks with nobody coming to work on our air conditioner. I finally called and they said they would have somebody out the very next day. They arrived around noon and when I say they it was one servicemen and he had no idea what he was to do. As we answered the door for the serviceman he smelled of marijuana . As if he had just smoked a marijuana cigarette. My wife was concerned about having this man come in our house so we decided not to let them start. When my wife told the servicemen that we did not want him in our house he said quote good luck trying to get us to come back out here again unquote. They still over 70 $800 to this day and nothing's been done we are taking the small claims court. His company is a joke reliability in fact I do not recommend them to anyone beware. read more
