I had done my research by checking the car's fair trade in value on Kelly Blue Book. They offered me $1200 for trade in when KBB stated average was $4k for "good" condition. To me, $1200 is what a junkyard would pay you to scrap the car for the metal. I was VERY shocked so I would *NOT* recommend trading your car into CarMax! However, I did test drive a new-ish Pathfinder (2018 I believe) and although it was a nice, comfortable ride, it just wasn't like the old Nissans. I had serious doubts the Pathfinder could perform off road like the 2008 predecessor. It's more like a minivan now. I'm sure Toyota is happy since they no longer have real competition in that space! Felipe helped me and he was awesome! Great communicator. We looked at a couple other models, but in the end, the Pathfinder was really just not for me anymore after that test drive. I ended up test driving a Jeep Rubicon at a different Carmax location and fell in love with that instead! Do yourselves a favor and ask for Felipe at this location! He's a great guy! It's not his fault Nissan doesn't make awesome 4WDs anymore. ;) But he DOES know his cars, he has exceptional manners and he is honest. I would give Felipe 5 stars, but I knocked this rating down one star to 4 stars because of the ridiculous trade in offer.

But i have had really awful interactions with both sales and parts here at AutoNation West Subaru. When I contacted sales, they just dropped the ball entirely. Literally did not respond to my email. It was very uncharacteristic compared to literally every other car dealer I've ever spoken to in my entire life. Needless to say, I bought my new car elsewhere. When i called parts to inquire about custom wheel covers, they couldn't tell me the part number of the wheel cover I wanted to buy and asked me, "Do you even know how big your tires are?" Isn't that something you should know when I give you the year, make, model, and trim of my vehicle? What's going on here, guys?

The rest of the experience while me and my 14 year old daughter sat here for an hour waiting for my husband to arrive was a joke. We weren't offered water, nobody asked if we needed anything, nothing. All we got to hear was vulgar comments amongst the car salesmen and the trash they talked either about customers who walked out the door or who they were on the phone with. Then walks in my husband and immediately Roberto comes over and says hey everything good man, you need anything and immediately offers him a water and asked if he preferred it to be cold or room temperature and then looked at me said oh do you need anything after I sat there by myself with my daughter for over an hour! Just based on lack of customer service and the fact they talked so vulgar with customers in the showroom is an automatic strike for me and I will never be back to purchase a future vehicle again.

Why does that matter? Fast forward to now. The exhaust on the car was getting loud and seemed like it was "falling off." We obviously wanted to get this looked at, because the problem certainly wasn't getting any better and potentially breathing in carbon monoxide isn't good. A search turned up automotive evolution, so we went in at 8:30 am today - right on time for our appointment that we set via phone a couple of days prior. The staff were friendly and got the car looked at quickly. As it turns out, it muffler was basically falling off! The exhaust pipe was rusting through behind the muffler. On top of that, the muffler itself also had corrosion perforation / holes in it. No wonder it was sounding like crap and we heard it knock around over the horrible, pothole ridden colorado roads. My car was taken in at 8:30 am, and we had the car back before 11 am, closer to 10:30 am. The price for the exhaust work was reasonable and the quality of the parts and work seems very good. I like that they provide you with photos of the issue and give a report of what they find and/or recommend. Unlike a dealership or big national repair chain, there were no upsell attempts or pressure to pay for things I didn't need. Their price for oil changes appeared pretty in-line with local quick lube shops. The waiting area isn't bad: there are a couple of tables to sit at, a water dispenser with cups, and a restroom. It also sounds like they can make arrangements for rental cars if you need to leave your car for a more protracted repair. While I don't like spending money at a mechanic, that's the reality of having an older car. I definitely won't hesitate to return to automotive evolution in the future and recommend them to anyone who needs a car repair place.

I don't typically leave reviews but am doing so in hopes that it saves someone else out there some…read moretime and money. I started working with Tim and his crew over a year ago to build our dream 4x4 Van. Tim spoke a good game but clearly over stated his companies ability to deliver a quality product. Things began to unravel when I went to pick up the van and less than an hour before we picked up the van the price was increased 7K without any future discussion when I was told the price was set just a few days before I left to pick it up. Not the way a reputable company does business! Then once I got the van home it leaked like swiss cheese. Every door, window, and multiple spots in the hightop leaked. Tim tried to get me to wait several months to bring it back and I refused. So I drove the 5hrs one way back to his shop and spent a late night allowing them to fix the issues. Tim assured me everything was fixed when I left that night. Only to get home and have a snow storm hit and the real issues showed their face. Not a single bolt in the high-top and roof rack had been sealed nor had any sealant been used on the max air fan. Several screws were just rain right into the hightop without a drop of sealant. The interor panles were soaked and are now warped from the moisture. So much for a brand new van build! So yet again I make the 5 hr one way trip to drop the van back off to address the issues. Tim blamed a single employee for all of these issues and said he fired the employee but he clearly never did any type of quality control on any portion of this build. We make the 5 hr one way drive yet again to pick up the van yet and everything seemed good. Then the rear end started acting up and developed a lot of chatter due to Tim's employees not adding the limited slip differential additive. During this time a leak in the front pinion seal was also noticed. At the same time silicone on edge of the top began to crack and peel and yet another leak developed along the windshield of the hightop. After a very heated conversation, Tim finally agreed to fix the rear end, pinion seal, and address the leaks again. Here we go again for another 5hr one way drive to drop the van off. We picked the van up yet again and Tim ensured me everything was good to go this time. Not so fast. After a little over 1,000 miles the pinion seal has started to leak again. I sent Tim a message about this and he has not responded for over a month. This last week we found several leaks still in the high top. After future inspection there is not a bit of sealant between the hightop and the van and the hightop is only held on by a handful of bolts. There a several places where the sealant on the outside of the hightop is almost 1/4 of an inch thick and you can see daylight between the hightop and the van. Again, clearly no one did any type of quality control on this build. I refuse to allow Tim or anyone on his staff to touch this van again, even if he would respond, and now am forced to find another company to fix all of the mistakes made by Tim and his crew. This was supposed to be a lifelong dream come true and has turned into months of frustration and thousands of dollars in fuel and time wasted. Buyer beware, Timberline Vans is not the quality van building company they will lead you to believe. One year later and Tim still refuses to return any phone call, text, or email. Now as another kick in the gut, the raptor liner that I paid him 5k to apply is pealing and chipping due to little to no prep work being done before applying.
