As soon as I left the shop, I noticed a clanking noise coming from my vehicle. I immediately contacted the shop about the noise because I was concerned that something was not right with the repair. The problems continued, so I eventually took my vehicle to a Subaru specialist/dealership for a second opinion. I was shocked to be told that the shop that had performed the control-arm repair had failed to properly connect/secure the ball joint. Learning this was extremely alarming. A ball joint is a critical component of the vehicle's suspension and steering system, and I was told that the way it had been left could have put me in a very dangerous situation and potentially put my life at risk. After finding this out, I contacted the mechanic shop again. I called approximately 3-6 times trying to speak with someone about what had happened and to address my concerns. Despite my repeated calls, the owner did not return my calls. When I finally reached the owner, instead of apologizing or acknowledging the seriousness of what had happened, he gave me excuses about why he had not had time to call me back. Not once did he apologize for the situation, acknowledge that the repair had potentially put my safety at risk, or offer any accommodation or assistance. What makes this even more frustrating is that the shop had also recommended additional work costing approximately $1,600 for spark-plug-related repairs. I am very glad I decided to get a second opinion before allowing them to continue working on my vehicle. I paid $2,400 expecting my vehicle to be repaired correctly and safely. Instead, I had a clanking noise immediately after leaving the shop, had to repeatedly contact them about my concerns, and then learned from a Subaru specialist that a critical component related to the repair had not been properly connected. My experience with this shop was extremely disappointing and frightening. I would never take my vehicle back there, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering using this shop get a second opinion and have their vehicle thoroughly inspected by another qualified mechanic. When it comes to something as serious as a suspension component that could affect the safety and control of your vehicle, your life is not worth taking the risk.

Their diagnosis was that the front differential needed to be replaced at a cost of $3300.00. I wanted to get a second opinion so I contacted Greg's Auto in Parker, transmission work is one of the few items they do not work on but they referred me to Kimmer Transmission. I took my truck in to Kimmer for a diagnosis. I was informed when I scheduled the appointment that I would need to leave my vehicle for a couple of days due to their volume of work already scheduled. When I arrived and walked through the shop to the office I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the shop, the organization of the mechanics work areas and the amount of vehicles they had in line. This immediately showed me the attention to detail the owner requires, which typically translates to the work ethic of the mechanics as well. I was informed that the issue with my truck was not the differential but the transfer case, and that the front differential was in good working order. I authorized the work for my vehicle with Kimmer. It did take a few days to complete but that was due to a delay in the parts needed for my repair work. If not for that delay I would have gotten my vehicle back in a couple of days. The final cost for the parts and labor was $2300.00. I am guessing if I would have gone with the original shop they would have charged me for the differential and the transfer case. I HIGHLY recommend Kimmer Transmission and Gear for al of your transmission work. They are professional, honest, and fair with their pricing. All very important items for vehicle maintenance work.

This company's work reflects its values…read more An inspection revealed we had several major repairs needed on an old, old vehicle. They allowed us time to decide if it was worth fixing and were creative about getting the costs to something more affordable but ultimately I agreed to have all but one item fixed. Their willingness to work with me on it really sealed the deal. I never felt pressured one way or the other and researched the prices of each repair item and they were market value. I really appreciated that I wasn't given grief for wanting to fix this old beauty instead of calling it quits and also appreciated their confidence in doing this amount of work to make it like new. Most importantly, the repairs were done right without gimmick and they're under warranty! This Christian Brothers Automotive is thorough and the final cost was reasonable compared to the quote (slight increase from what looks like parts being a tad more than anticipated). The initial inspection was awesome too, they have pictures for everything and tell you what's good, not just bad. The whole process was really smooth and simple compared to how big of a decision the repairs really were. Very professional and quick. I'm very thankful and will come back/recommend to others.

Paid for professionals. Got the opposite, and now they won't return calls…read more We trusted Christian Brothers Arapahoe with a 2023 Chevy Traverse my co-owner drives full time for Uber. It's her livelihood, and their own repair order says they knew it. Over 29 visits in two years we paid them $12,519.39 at $175/hour, expecting professional service. From their own invoices: Transmission complaints patched, never fixed. She reported a clunk on shifting time and again and was told they couldn't replicate it. After her numerous complaints, in August 2025 they changed the transmission fluid, saying it was bad. Chevrolet's normal schedule doesn't call for that at all. It was a patch, not a diagnosis. Seven weeks later they pulled the transmission and wrote that the fluid they had just put in was "significantly degraded, suggesting potential damage." Twice in seven weeks they saw a fluid problem. They replaced only the torque converter and put the same transmission back in. It failed in August 2026; now they quote $14,440.98 to replace it. Engine underfilled. The engine takes 6 quarts. They billed 5 quarts on six visits, including the one where she came in with the oil light on and asked them to measure the oil. No measurement recorded, 5 quarts again. Additive the manufacturer says not to use. Chevrolet's manual says "Do not add anything to the oil." They added and charged for an oil additive on at least nine visits. Paid $90 to find a $124 repair, then told to pay $2,374.62. After a rear-end accident she paid $90 to diagnose a rear clunk. Their technician found one problem: "right side exhaust pipe hanger is damaged," something anyone could see in 5 minutes. GM's price for the hanger is $36.72. Even at $175/hour, a 15-30 minute install is $124.22 at most. They never priced it. They quoted a complete exhaust system for $2,374.62 instead. She declined, the hanger stayed broken, and three months later their own notes say the exhaust was "rattling against rear suspension." An independent mechanic confirmed it only ever needed the hanger. Colorado law makes it illegal for a repair shop to say repairs are necessary when they are not. Diagnostic fees that don't match the work. On her last visit they charged two "Level 1" diagnostic fees, $319.98, nearly two hours at their rate, for under an hour of work: a broken sway bar link and a transmission fluid sample. Our independent mechanic checked both in under 10 minutes each. The leaking shocks came from their free courtesy inspection; we never asked them to diagnose shocks. Prices all over the map. The same rear shock job was quoted six times, from $627 to $1,025. Parts jumped 79% in two months. Sold us their own warranty, then wouldn't stand behind it. They upsold us "Nice Difference Care+," run by Christian Brothers' own warranty company. When the transmission failed, it denied the claim and said any misdiagnosis "would need to be addressed directly with the shop." The shop is Christian Brothers. The warranty company is Christian Brothers. Each points at the other; nobody takes responsibility. Nobody answers. Calls to Christian Brothers corporate go unanswered. Dan West, who runs this location, never returned our voicemail. We were told they had videos of the transmission fluid; when we asked for them, we were ignored. We asked in writing for the complete service file with technician notes and photos and got a one-line summary. They were so busy upselling, they forgot they're in the customer service business. If your car is how you earn a living, get a second opinion before you authorize anything here, and ask for the technician's notes in writing.

The issue is this, they didn't communicate to me in the phone call, what all they would be doing (other than the oil change). They then do what i can only assume is taking advantage of a young woman's naivety (?) and do what I'd consider stuffing the bill to up the list of work. When the error code got thrown again I called kimmer transmission to schedule an appointment to have them check it out since I was driving down from boulder 50 miles away. I arrived 15 minutes early and was the first customer in the door that day. Kimmer asked for my keys then asked if I had a ride since they may not even get to it that day. This was a surprise, since when I scheduled the appointment, I specifically stated that I was supposed to be leaving for Wisconsin that day and wanted to try and take care of this issue before doing so. I said I did not have a ride but had no problem waiting. Kimmer tried suggesting a nearby restaurant but I told them I already had breakfast. They tried to get me to go the shop next door because "it was more comfortable" but I said I was fine working on my phone in their waiting area. After seeing they weren't going to get rid of me they reluctantly ran a scan tool on the truck, which takes about 2 minutes, also which I had already had done in boulder to try to save myself the trip. Kimmer came back and told me that the car cannot communicate with the part THAT THEY INSTALLED!!! WHICH IS EXACTLY THE REASON I DROVE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO HAVE THEM FIGURE OUT WHY! It was clear that kimmer was not going to make any effort whatsoever to resolve the issue. Never even put it on a lift to look. It is apparent that they have little to no follow up service on jobs that they clearly did not do correctly in the first place. I would not recommend kimmer transmission and gear to anyone looking for any transmission/drive train work. The only thing nice about the shop was the shop dog.
