I have a 2015 GMC Canyon 4wd with over 100k that I took to a shop in Parker to investigate a noise in the front end. Their diagnosis was that the front differential needed to be replaced at a cost of $3300.00. I wanted to get a second opinion so I contacted Greg's Auto in Parker, transmission work is one of the few items they do not work on but they referred me to Kimmer Transmission. I took my truck in to Kimmer for a diagnosis. I was informed when I scheduled the appointment that I would need to leave my vehicle for a couple of days due to their volume of work already scheduled. When I arrived and walked through the shop to the office I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the shop, the organization of the mechanics work areas and the amount of vehicles they had in line. This immediately showed me the attention to detail the owner requires, which typically translates to the work ethic of the mechanics as well. I was informed that the issue with my truck was not the differential but the transfer case, and that the front differential was in good working order. I authorized the work for my vehicle with Kimmer. It did take a few days to complete but that was due to a delay in the parts needed for my repair work. If not for that delay I would have gotten my vehicle back in a couple of days. The final cost for the parts and labor was $2300.00. I am guessing if I would have gone with the original shop they would have charged me for the differential and the transfer case. Set up an appointment 4 weeks out -- because of their schedule. Left the car on a Sunday night, by Tuesday afternoon they hadn't even looked at it. Zero communication from them. We called daily, too busy for them to get to a radiator flash. Picked it up after 48 hours without any work done. They shouldn't make appointments if they can't handle the work. So I brought a jeep in for a leak. I noticed a pan bolt broken. After $500 got it back it leaks worse. Went to retorque the bolts per the factory service manual. 3 were totally stripped. I guess I'll do it myself. Contested the charges. Owner seemed belligerent when I called. read more

Took my vehicle in to get the transmission serviced, the truck was turned back to me with multiple service codes and the check engine light was on. Some of the service codes were erased and then test driven which tells me that they were just trying to get rid of the problem and not fix it. A couple months down the road my lines to transmission and coolant were damaged and leaking- thankfully I found a great mechanic that was able to get this fixed and pin pointed that the damage came from Kimmer Transmission when they serviced my transmission. I would save your time and go elsewhere, to turn in a vehicle completely fine and then to have it given back to you with issues is a horrible service. They also referred me to their buddies down the road, it felt like a scam. Avoid this place if you can. read more

I would 100% recommend this repair shop, I have an 03 Honda accord, I got my transmission rebuilt about a year ago and she's still driving smooth. they gave me a warranty for 2 years or 24,000 miles (which ever comes first) if there was any problems with the transmission read more

My trany was shot in my Jeep and I was fortunate to find Jeff and Kimmer Transmission! Jeff, the owner, was very direct, very articulate, delivered with a sense of humor, in explaining what was being done mechanically, along with the payment process (as I was also dealing with a horrible extended warranty company, American auto shield). 6 months later the transmission is still great and shifting smoooooooooooooooooothly. I initially took my Toyota Sienna to the Toyota dealership at I-25 and Arapahoe Rd. who said I needed a new transmission at a cost of $4900. So I called Kimmer who estimated over the phone, depending on the parts needed, would cost between $1800 and $3,900, Good news, I could save at least $1,000 if I drove it a few miles to them. After leaving it at Kimmer, they drove me home and inspected my car for the estimate. To my surprise, they said the transmission was fine! I just needed a CV axle, parts and labor were under $510.00. Thank you Kimmer for being honest and giving such great service! Shame on you Toyota Dealership for misdiagnosing (or scamming me). I highly recommend Kimmer!!! read more

Brought truck for poor shifting. Had shop do complete rebuild of trans and torque converter. Picked up and went on vacation with truck with same exact problems and then some. Had to switch vehicles for trip sent email with no response. Brought back and Jeff "says" he replaced valve body second time. Pick up and same exact problems. But this time they didn't fill completely with fluid and transmission overheating. Jeff ended having to put a new transmission in because of. Pick up truck after new trans install with huge scratch in hood. Luckily new trans comes with nationwide warranty so I don't I have go back there.Jeff, like I told you, in the industry for 30 years. Absolutel horrible quality and customer service. Parts changers at best. !! read more

Work was done on the transfer case of my truck before I bought it. It kept triggering error codes stating "service four wheel drive". Kimmer tried to clear the codes before I bought the truck and agreed with the seller to transfer the warranty work over to the new owner because the service was done to the truck specifically to sell the car. When the error code got thrown again I called kimmer transmission to schedule an appointment to have them check it out since I was driving down from boulder 50 miles away. I arrived 15 minutes early and was the first customer in the door that day. Kimmer asked for my keys then asked if I had a ride since they may not even get to it that day. This was a surprise, since when I scheduled the appointment, I specifically stated that I was supposed to be leaving for Wisconsin that day and wanted to try and take care of this issue before doing so. I said I did not have a ride but had no problem waiting. Kimmer tried suggesting a nearby restaurant but I told them I already had breakfast. They tried to get me to go the shop next door because "it was more comfortable" but I said I was fine working on my phone in their waiting area. After seeing they weren't going to get rid of me they reluctantly ran a scan tool on the truck, which takes about 2 minutes, also which I had already had done in boulder to try to save myself the trip. Kimmer came back and told me that the car cannot communicate with the part THAT THEY INSTALLED!!! WHICH IS EXACTLY THE REASON I DROVE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO HAVE THEM FIGURE OUT WHY! It was clear that kimmer was not going to make any effort whatsoever to resolve the issue. Never even put it on a lift to look. It is apparent that they have little to no follow up service on jobs that they clearly did not do correctly in the first place. I would not recommend kimmer transmission and gear to anyone looking for any transmission/drive train work. The only thing nice about the shop was the shop dog. read more

Took my truck into Keller Professional Auto & Diesel for reoccurring transmission problem. Had it rebuilt two years & two months ago and had less than 5,000 miles on the rebuild. Steve made some adjustments but was unable to fix the problem. So he worked with Jeff at Kimmer Transmission & Gear and since Kimmer had rebuilt the transmission they stood behind their warranty even though it was just past the two year time limit. Kimmer Transmissions is the kind of place that you find, share with friends and family, and keep in your address book for whenever you need it. I run a small limo company, and my Caddy suddenly had shifting issues and an intermittent check engine light on. Everybody kept suggesting that my transmission level was low, and I kept adding fluid, but that didn't work. Then other mechanics said I needed a new transmission, so I was facing a $3,000+ bill. Once I brought in my Caddy he hooked it up to his computer right away and he let me look at the screen which showed that the transmission speed sensor was burned out. The part was delivered the very same day to his shop. I picked up the car the very same day, and the transmission now works like a charm, like a brand new car.
