We were there around 3pm on a Monday and I was really disappointed that the only bread selections left were whole wheat or white :( They didn't have any cheese bread or olive bread left :( I ended up getting my sandwich on whole wheat and my husband had his on white. My whole wheat bread didn't taste all that fresh, it was a bit dry. My husband said his bread was "ok" - whatever that means, he is a man of few words, lol. I got the #2 ($6.95), which is ham, chicken, roast beef, marble cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. The default comes with mayo, but I said no mayo. There wasn't too much meat in the sandwich, and it tasted alright, but nothing special in my opinion. My husband got the #16 ($6.95), which has Calabrese Soppressata, Spicy Capicola, Prosciutto, Provolone cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Service was friendly and efficient. We went during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The lady there was wearing a mask (so were we). We were the only customers there, which was a good thing because the place is small and narrow and physical distancing would be difficult. There are tables at the front and side of the convenience store for you to sit and eat. I liked that some tables had umbrellas so you can be in the shade. Street parking only (paid parking, it was $1 for 20 minutes).

I wasn't sure what to expect as I haven't seen a lot of Algerian restaurants in town. When I walked in, I was greeted by the really friendly staff. I had a look at the menu and it was sandwiches, fajitas, tacos, burgers and paninis. This place looks up my alley. After a quick scan and some thought, I decided to go with the panini. I got the chicken panini with fries. I saw down and in no time my order arrived. The grilled panini looked decent. I tried the fries first and they seemed to be lightly dusted and fried. They were OK. They came with a spicy sauce which they offered when I placed the order. I wish there was a little more but I didn't think to ask for a little more. Next up was the panini. I took a bite and there was a little bit of a kick to it. I had to double check if it was the sauce or the panini that had some spice and I'm pretty sure it was from the chicken. The sandwich was nice, it came with melted brie which nice. After a bit, I finished up my meal and the place started getting a bit more customers. The meal was a pretty good price. It was around $15 with a drink. I'm definitely going to come back to try something else.

They also carry provisions so you can take home some exotic goodies for later. They also have some alcoholic beverages that are local (cider!). I had coffee and pastries both times I visited and they were amazing each time. I loved sitting on their front patio but the back patio also looks lovely. I will be back. Parking was the only challenge, but I was less than a block away. I will be back!

A few times I bought the pastries there, and it was stale and not fresh. Today I asked the staff when the pastries on display were made, and they seemed to be confused at first, and then they had to admit that the pastries weren't prepared today. I ended up not buying them at all to not the risk of eating spoiled food. They told me that they also have fresh ones but why do they charge fresh and stale pastry for the same price then?! The drinks are mediocre. For instance, they charge almost 8 dollars for a small seasonal drink. It's not even good at all, as if tasteless. The overall atmosphere isn't welcoming due to the constant smell of burning, unfriendly stuff, and some of the kitchenware seems to be not cleaned well, for instance, the toaster, there is a lot of soot on it that constantly burns. The stuff isn't suitable for working in hospitality. They seem to not be interested in what they're doing, and that's why they do it badly and don't put much effort. That is what happens when the owner hires students for whom working in a cafe isn't a profession but just a side hassle. Also, their appearance wasn't nice. By saying that I mean their clothes didn't look neat and tidy, and their hair was uncombed and loose. To sum up, Red Door Provisions is just another overrated cafe that might make an impression of a cute and cozy place with delicious drinks and pastries at first but it turns out to be even worse than mediocre. I gave it a few chances to improve my impression of it but I'll not come back there anymore, and I recommend others to avoid it as well.

I got mango and pistachio. I liked that they put the flavours side by side and not on top of each other. They also really filled up the cup so the portion size was excellent. The mango flavour was really potent, which I loved. The pistachio flavour was rich and nutty, which I also loved. They didn't have too many flavours, but a good mix of fruity and chocolate/caramel/etc. I would definitely get gelato here again. My husband got a soft serve ice cream dipped in S'mores. Omg! The S'mores dip was so good. It was chocolatey and had mini dehydrated marshmallows in it. My husband ordered a large ($5 taxes included), but I think they gave him a small because it looked small and they only charged him for a small ($4 taxes included). That's ok, we should be moderating our intake of sweets anyway, lol. The ice cream was rich and creamy. The dips are an extra $1, so you can get soft serve without dips too ($3 for a small and $4 for a large, inclusive of taxes). Service was friendly. We went during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Staff were wearing masks, physical distancing rules were in place, and there was hand sanitizer by the entrance. There are picnic tables and patio tables out front. Free parking in the private parking lot.
