Robowok Mini Bowls located across the street from USC is a go-to spot for affordable, flavorful Chinese food with a futuristic twist. Known for its robot-cooked, fully customizable bowls. This eco-friendly eatery serves up a variety of stir fry, noodles, and classic dishes that are perfect for students on a budget. Despite the automation, everything comes out hot, fresh, and packed with bold flavor. I tried the chow mein, teriyaki chicken, orange peel chicken and beef cubes with pineapples. They also offer solid vegetarian options like garlic eggplant green beans, chilled garlic broccoli and mapo tofu. The space itself is clean, modern, and has a relaxed, vibe--great for a quick lunch or casual dinner that still feels a little unique.. The dishes are served in convenient microwaveable to-go containers perfect for students and meal prep. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. I love the mix of innovative tech and seriously tasty food!

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 When I was searching for Chinese fast food and the place came up. It looks a lot like my favorite new restaurant, the interior decor color and all. Even the Togo boxes. So I decided to give it a try. When I arrived they do indeed look similar but this one don't have my favorite dipping sauce like the other one. They also have slightly different menu on top of classic Chinese dishes. I ordered Hunan chicken with rice. It was pretty spicy and good kick. I have to say it's acceptable. When I have a chance, I would definitely come back again.

    Great valuable chinese food

Stumbled into this spot after running errands near Vermont and it slapped, not gonna lie. Fast service, my Hunan Spicy Beef came out crazy quick and you could tell it was freshly cooked Chinese food -- super fragrant, that spicy kick but still flavorful, not just heat.

I'm so happy I came across this gem! They serve you in different bowls with each side you order. The portion sizes are very filling, and I was also happy to see that they offer tofu! It's not pictured, but along with the tofu I got chili cabbage and steamed rice and that kept me full for a while. I also think they have affordable pricing, $20 covered two people which is quite difficult to find today. The staff are very friendly and the seating is varied. It can get full pretty quickly but most people come and go. The food is served efficiently since it's already cooked, so it is really convenient if you're in a rush. Cool environment and nice place to eat :)

Such a cool spot! The robot chef actually cooks your food right in front of you -- super fun to watch and surprisingly fast. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I got the chow mein, green beans with pork, and kung pao chicken -- all so good! The place is super clean and modern, with a chill vibe. Perfect for a quick lunch that still feels special. Definitely coming back -- love the mix of tech and tasty food!

The first bite was unforgettable. The crispy golden exterior gave way to a tender, juicy center that was packed with flavor. Rich aromas of garlic, butter, and fresh herbs filled the air, making it impossible to resist another taste. Each ingredient complemented the others perfectly, creating a balance of textures and flavors that felt both comforting and exciting. The natural sweetness of the ingredients blended beautifully with the savory seasonings, leaving a lingering taste that made every bite as enjoyable as the last. It was the kind of dish that turned a simple meal into a memorable experience.

This place is an institution. After I wrote that sentence, I felt like I was trite. And like I said…read moresomething but not really. Like, one time I was watching Project Runway, a season finale episode, where the designers make their own creations, and do not have to make their ensembles from shredded newspaper or bird seeds or pinata remnants. And after a so-and-so of the fashion industry said, "I wanted to go and rip that jacket off the model." This other time, I saw a poster for a coming musical and it said, "stop everything you are doing, and go this musical now" says this important person in the theathre world. What am I am trying to say is that the comment I wanted to do this immediately or drop everything and do this immediately is so overwrought and widely used that it lost all meaning. Kind of like calling this place an institution. So I will call this place what I should to not be drown in my own trite. One time I went to this place and I went cause I was invited to a birthday party. And it was a large group of people. Me and a friend debated if Penny, from the Big Bang, had eaten at this place. She was also in Charmed--- it is a household name, I can't remember it. So this place is famous enough to be a go to move, and it has many pictures of celebrities that have gone there. The food is also super good, so this place, like I said is an insititution. When I went there a second time, I was more aware of the place I was visiting and kind of was ready to receive its Chinese fare with an unhinged jaw. I was dining with a friend, the same friend that I had the is that Penny from Big Bang debate? It was not. She eventually one. But like she and I ate here again, without knowing we were going to the same place. I would say its a small world but.... She and I ate with gusto. It does not take a lot to know that the speciality of the house is their slippery shrimp. They also have slippery chicken and slippery tofu. Super good, sweet, sour but it was not sweet and sour sauce shrimp, it had differences. I am not sure what. There were some heat notes but not like terrible heat. So I am not exactly sure what this place does to make their slippery sauce but let us just that it was delicious and different than other Chinese food sauces. Ronnie and I had the works. Rice, Beef with Brocoli, Pan fried dumplings, and dumpings. It was the type of Chinese food that was so good a coke was needed to balance the decadent saltiness of the fare. Yeah, that might not make sense but I wrote what I wrote. We had eniugh food to share between the two of us. It was that type of meal, where leftovers were welcomed and made sense. They were not left over, they were left untouched because it would be a shame to not enjoy them later. The service was great. The place felt traditional, and like it took you to an alley in China to eat a grandmother's food who knows how to use a Wok and pinch dumplings so they stay close for good. I saw this bad review that skewered this place. And I am like wow! How can we be so different. Not like Ying and Yang Different, more like flutter and flatten. But taste is subjective, so decide for yourself if this place is a peacock worthy of its feathers or a tiger with its claws clipped.

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. This that wonton place your girl tells you not to worry about forreal. Will be coming back despite the long drive from home.

Everything was prepared wonderfully and had tremendous flavor. I recommend trying their Hui Tou, stuffed with pork or beef, pork and leek pancakes, they also have vegetarian options. Their pork shumai was delicious, xiao long bao's soup dumplings were flavorful. Delicious. I definitely need a second trip here to try their soups and more of their variety of dumplings.

The braised pork belly was so incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth, and paired with the pickled carrots and cucumbers tucked into that steamed bao bun - so juicy.
