We had a wonderfully relaxing visit to Robin's Nest Restaurant, with soft live music setting the tone and food that absolutely lived up to the atmosphere. Right away, when walking in, we were greeted with delicious looking dessert options and welcoming faces. We were seated nicely next to the decorated window, and our waiter was quick with our orders. My crab and scallop penne pasta with Alfredo sauce was delicious, with seasoned bread crumbs on top. The Alfredo sauce sadly did overpower the dish, and there just was not enough crab to come through. Some bread on the side would have been a treat to soak up all the sauce and bits of crab. The eggplant parmigiana had many layers of tasty eggplant and their flavorful sauce. I am glad we ordered the fries on the side, because they came seasoned and went perfectly with both meals. We decided to take our desserts home with us, and the limoncello was our standout favorite. There were many other options on their dessert menu that we were debating between, and we will have to stop by for more later for sure. My BF made a surprise brunch reservation at Robin's Nest and I was just so excited. The restaurant & bakery is in a converted home in downtown town Mount Holly and its oozing with historical charm. There's a large parking lot across the street which makes for ease of access and there's also on street parking. My typical brunch booze is mimosas or espresso martinis but since they had quite an impressive and well thought out boozy brunch menu I opted for non traditional martinis that just made sense given the weather and warmth inside - French Toast Martini & a Rice Pudding Martini. Both a 10/10! Flavorful, strong and mighty and fun! We wanted to try a few things for our entrees so we decided to share the Quiche du Jour, Shrimp & Crab Grits, Turkey Chili and a Side of Bacon. When I tell you that this food didn't miss on a single thing ... literally SLAMMING! We ate until we couldn't eat anymore, ok I lied, we ate until there was just enough room for dessert lol because I had to order the Lemon Bar ... HOMERUN!!!! My wife and I went to Robins Nest on Mother's Day. The food is always very good. The service is always excellent. I hav the Biscuits and Gravy. The gravy was excellent however the Biscuits were not good. The biscuits were small and not fluffy. It was big let down. I would not recommend the Biscuits and gravy. read more

Been here many times over years. I adore the lunch outside by the water that atmosphere is great. Lunch great salads I enjoyed the mt holly melt sandwiches and the goat cheese salad. I do like the atmosphere. Dinner I've had I'd suggest the cheaper entrees like pumpkin ravioli when I order a short ribs it wasn't horrible but tasted warmed up left overs . Absolutely adorable, unique restaurant. You are greeted by a welcoming staff (and an impressive dessert case) into a beautiful dining room with a very cute patio for outdoor dining. The food is awesome. The tomato basil soup is a must, paired with the grown up grilled cheese (I was apprehensive about the fig jam but it worked out perfectly with the cheese!). July 30, 2024 - 3 for lunch. I have been here a few times in the 10 YEARS! since I posted my first review for the Robin's Nest. Sadly my Sister in Law who loved this place and lived a few miles away, passed away almost exactly 1 year ago. We came here to celebrate the one year anniversary of here passing from cancer with her now alone daughter. we all got a few varied items and it was a splendid lunch, with AWESOME service and food that was fresh, well prepared and from a varied menu fit for most all diets and lifestyle. My niece is now staying here locally so I am sure if we visit her in the future this is where we will go. read more

My husband and I randomly ended up in Mount Holly and searched for a place that accommodates gluten free individuals. Very cute and homey inside. There were very few gluten free items and we settled for the brisket and clam chowder(not GF). The brisket was flavorful and soft. The clam chowder was plentiful and decadent. We were also seated across from the cakes and sweets showcase: due to absolutely no self discipline, we ordered the Chocolate Mousse and chocolate cake to go. Both were very delicious. Went here a while ago for brunch, we were asked if we had a reservation which we did not and were told that they prefer reservations. No problem but the restaurant was empty so we didn't really why we were greeted with this snooty hostess telling us that we needed a reservation but she sat us any way. Food arrived, pretty expensive and small portions. Eggs cost about a quarter each so $18 for two eggs, potatoes, toast and bacon is pretty ridiculous. This place thinks they are more than they actually are. So we ate, paid our bill and left and the place was still pretty empty so I noted to the hostess if they are still taking reservations for brunch. To be fair, the lunch menu looks pretty good but we won't be back. read more

I agree with everyone regarding the decor that it's inviting and gives the feel of a sophisticated home of years long ago. Although I like the ambience, it is heavy, dark and dated. There are areas that appear similar to a reading nook or a smoke room table, a reading lamp overhead or near the table may be helpful to keep it from looking so dank. My cousin suggested this restaurant as she lived in Mt Holly over 15 years ago. She mentioned the decor as comfortable like 'grandmoms' house and the food being really good. Well the old memories of the decor was spot on but the food so-so. She ordered spilt pea soup with ham, no bits of ham or the taste of according to her. The French Onion soup did not have a broth flavor I'm familiar with it was sweet and unpleasant. I did not like it at all. See my other reviews I order French Onion soup A LOT! My burger was a nice size and just a burger nothing special. I don't care for 'seasoned' or 'textured' fries, regular shoestring or steak fries will do but I understand that a personal preference. The service was good and prompt, the food average, cocktails are worth the price as it relates to flavor and strength. prices fair but the take home desserts were stale. Baked goods that are old I find a major turnoff. Would I return? No. Should others give it a chance? If you're nearby but not if a drive is greater that 15-20 minutes as you will pass other excellent experiences along the way. read more

The location is on a cute lil street with a coffee house and other local establishments. Its a vey causal friendly atmosphere. The wait staff was very good and quick which was appreciated. I got the tot bowl which was bacon, sausage, two scrambled eggs with cheese over a bed of tater tots.....phatgirl heaven!!!! Carbs+Meat+Cheese = Wanted Calories!! This is a cute restaurant in the center of town. They prefer reservations. There is indoor and outdoor seating. One day for dinner I had the cranberry chicken which was tasty and filling. Another day I tried the turkey reuben which again was good and filling. The rueben was served with a delicious pasta salad. For an appetizer each time I got the truffle fries which are perfection. Something a little off putting for me was the disclaimers on the menu that say we add 3% to the bill total when using credit cards instead of cash and the other disclaimer notifying patrons that if they share any appetizers at their table they will be charged $2.50 for doing so. We've been coming to Robins Nest for decades- for parties and meetings and summer nights watching a band play on the outside decks Brunches lunches and dinners. It's consistently great food. Tonight we took advantage of the Mt Holly restaurant week which featured Irish fare. We truly enjoyed the Lerk soup, pumpkin soup and then the Shepherds pie with ground lamb peas carrots and homemade mashed with a side salad. DH ( it's his birthday!) chose the corned beef cabbage and potatoes done beautifully. We then enjoyed the grasshopper brownie and DH had a Hershey chocolate cake. The 3 course dinners were $39 each. Dined in on a Saturday night for dinner with a very special someone and it was our first time here. We've been hearing good things (especially for brunch) and have been wanting to give it a try. There is a convenient public parking lot behind the restaurant that offers a very short walk to the front door. We had reservations at 6:30, arrived on time, and ended up being seated as soon as we spoke with the hostess. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and almost has an old home type of feel. There is a very small bar with limited seating. We enjoyed the dimmed lighting and it wasn't overly loud in the dining area which was nice. All of the employees we encountered (hostess, busboy, server) were all pleasant and welcoming. We had an idea what we wanted to order prior to arriving, partially from recommendations and partially from Yelp reviews and pictures. We each had one drink: a glass of Prosecco and a bottled Blue Moon. We started with truffle fries (from a recommendation) and wings (based off of Yelp pictures) and they were both phenomenal. I'm picky and particular when it comes to wings. The outsides were crisp, the meat was tender, the sauce was good. For dinner she ordered the soup sampler which came with three different soups (that night it was lentil soup, French onion, and clam chowder). She really enjoyed all three soups (soup is one of our favorite things). I ordered a burger cooked medium rare. While I did enjoy the burger there are a couple others in the area I'd prefer. The burger patty itself was very good but the bread was just okay and the bread:patty ratio was off. The burger came with fries and I would recommend upgrading to truffle fries as they'd be worth the extra charge. We both enjoyed ourselves and had a nice experience. Ambiance was on point. Staff was great. Food was very good. I would definitely dine here again but would like to come back for brunch. If I did come back for dinner there are a few other things I'd try instead of the burger, but I would surely order the wings and truffle fries again. I have been a patron of Robin's Nest for over a year now. I thought I should leave a review about my dining experiences. I really love the food at this place. I have tried a few items like the chili, chipotle salmon, crab ravioli and wings. I think the salmon might be my favorite. I always recommend it to my fellow diners. The drinks at Robin's Nest are really good too. I highly recommend one of the desert martinis for "dessert," trust me, you won't regret it. The staff has always been attentive and friendly too. It's been a minute since going over to The Robins Nest.... I Love and adore their atmosphere. I think the experience is what gets me and reels me in. Also the service. I want my food to also smell and taste and LOOK good.... Is That So Wrong? I am a "Total Package" kind of woman. I want to be Seduced by My Meal. Lol. Seriously. Do you realize that going Out these days is a Luxury and I work and slave away for my income. No Joke. I think some of the dishes at Robins Nest NEED to be Updated. Or Revamped.... I love the Robins Nest. I love the ambiance, I love how central to Mt Holly it is. And I've been coming here for years. The last three times I have gone into Robins Nest however, I have been met with rude service, poor quality food and a severely lacking menu. This last time will be my final time at Robins nest, myself and my company each had a cheeseburger and a cocktail. That's it. The cheeseburgers took forty five minutes to come out, and while they were fresh (I think they forgot about us) and good, the fries were cold, and the cocktail tasted like it came from a premix. I don't mind this...usually. But when you have the gall to charge 95 dollars for two cheeseburgers, and two martinis? AND your waitress was rude? AND it took forty five minutes to come out? AND we weren't apologized to? Not worth it. I won't be back. read more

Very quaint and comfortable place. Decor is a bit much, but that didn't make a difference for me. Our server Kim was fantastic! She was energetic and made us feel at home. With every dish we asked about, she gave us such a wonderful description that it made it difficult to decide! We decided to start with the pumpkin ravioli...what a great start! The flavors of pumpkin, an apple cream sauce and bacon were amazing! What a fantastic combination and perfect for the start of the season! We ordered the Duck Leg and Honey Pecan Chicken for dinner. I will say they were both good, but did not knock our socks off. The chicken had a cranberry sauce over it which overtook the entire plate and all I tasted was cranberry. The Duck was a bit overcooked but was still tasty. I would go back and try a different meal as the menu had a few different options I would like to try. But I hope they are better than the previous dishes we ordered. If I could give this a 3.5 stars I would. read more

It was ok. Had to wait a long time for a burger . Brussel sprouts came out wrong. They did take it off the bill but how hard is it to make Brussel sprouts. One server for 10 tables. Not that impressed with our dinner and kind of pricey for the quality of food. Probably Red Robin would have been a better choice and half the price. I had the chipotle honey salmon with fried spinach on top the waitress Michelle recommended instead of the rice that came with it get the mashed potatoes. Oh my God it was delicious also I got the soup tomato basil equally as delicious. I do recommend you do reservations cause this place fills up quick. For dessert Michelle recommended the apricot walnut and chocolate chip tart this dessert was huge it was scrumptious. Michelle our waitress was fabulous she knew what was good which was everything. The food was amazing! Cara (Hostess and Chefs) need a raise for dealing with the other hostesses and our waitress. My husband goes into the restaurant and asked politely if they had an outside area. The sun was out shining and we thought it would be nice to sit and enjoy it. Anyways this hostess goes rudely in a condensing voice... Yes.. Can I help you? We took it as oh maybe a bad moment. Well she takes us under a tent and we asked if we can have a table under the sun. There's just one 2 seater table taken and a bunch of open tables. She's like no they obviously didn't want us there. Our waitress came up with a bitchy annoyed attitude like... why are you here? Sadly she treated us like that the entire time. Very disappointed and probably won't be back.
