I booked directly with them online for a new patient eye exam as they were one of the closer places to me that actually takes Davis Vision insurance. The place was pretty easy to find and they have a small parking lot in the back as well which was convenient as it had just snowed and street parking were pretty tough at the time. The office is actually on the second floor when the staff kindly directed me when I was at the first floor office and I had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes after my appointment time before the Dr was ready to see me. Mostly because they would reach out to check your insurance beforehand so that was very helpful to cut down the wait time. The whole exam went very smoothly and Dr. Hussoin was very patient in answering all my questions. I was out with my new prescription in hand in maybe 20-30 minutes. I would highly recommend her for all your optometry needs !

The lenses they proposed were outdated and super uncomfortable but when I asked for other options they said there weren't. I know perfectly that there are other options so I requested my prescription and went to find other more competent doctors. But I needed to pay for a new eye exam fully out of pocket because my insurance already paid for their useless service. They just took my money and basically confirmed my old prescription and did absolutely nothing! They basically don't know what they arre doing! Plus the office is very old and the instruments they use very outdate! They keep the contacts in ziplock bags on a old wood bookshelf! Never again!

I ran a quick search on ZocDoc and came across this practice. I was thrilled to learn they took my health insurance/EyeMed and that I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. The receptionist was lovely and greeted me with a warm welcome. Another patient's appointment was running a little later than expected (probably about five minutes), so she apologized on behalf of the doctor. Honestly, I wasn't bothered by this, but I thought it was considerate for her to acknowledge it. Dr. Turcotte is an expert and incredibly friendly. I greatly appreciated that she took a moment to ask if I had any questions about the results, images, or about my eyes in general. This review is so long overdue! I have been a patient of Dr. Shriber for at least 15 years. Most…read morerelationships don't even last that long, but the Doc and I have a good thing going, and I'm in it for the long haul. His office is very clean and has the latest diagnostic equipment. His secretary, Sasha, is super friendly, and Dr. Shriber is by far one of the kindest, most patient doctors you will ever meet. I'm not saying that I'm fussy, but when it comes to him asking me, "Which is better, 1 or 2? How about now, 1 or 2?". My response is always, "Can you do it again, Doc?" I don't know why. It's as if my eyes are always playing tricks on me. But his patience goes beyond the examinations. I swear it knows no bounds. I work on airplanes and once you hit 30,000 feet, these planes will suck all the moisture out of your body. And that extends to your eyes making your contact lenses uncomfortable to wear. Why not wear glasses then? I'm too vain. Anyway, there are contact lenses out there that advertise they are perfect for dry eyes. Over the years, I find them to be outright lies. So a couple of years ago, Dr. Shriber had me try a different pair every couple of weeks until I felt the contacts held enough moisture for my long haul flights. I remember saying to him, "Really? Aren't you going to get sick of seeing me?" No, he just wanted me to be happy with them. I went back 4 times before I finally placed my order. My last visit was a couple of weeks ago. 15 years later, I still LOVE going to this man. He is knowledgeable, generous, funny, and he also takes most insurance (if not all). Tons of street parking and a cheap public lot in the back ($ .50 an hour). If you need glasses, his office is connected to Gordon Optical which is run by his brother. So the next time you need an eye exam, look no further!! I give Dr. Yale Shriber a 10-Star review!

While I was filling out the paperwork, I witnessed the receptionist, Anne, personally calling Tufts to help a client figure out her insurance plan. She was on the phone for about 10 minutes, then guided the woman through the next steps (calling MassHealth) in the office. I was very impressed with her generosity and specialized attention (we all know how hard insurance companies are to talk to). I went in for an eye infection and the doctor was nice and listened patiently while I gave him all the information. He checked out my vision, put gels in my eyes to see unhealthy spots on the surface, examined the oil glands around my eyes, dilated my pupils for testing, and took photos of my eyes for glaucoma testing. There was no co-pay or fees when I left, so I guess my insurance (Tufts Health Together) covered it all. The only feedback I could give to improve this practice is to give out those cheap paper sunglasses to patients if they get their pupils dilated. If I didn't have my own sunglasses with me then the sunny walk home would have been painful!
