I called Doctor Robert Jordan's office to schedule an appointment with him and was initially told that it will be a month to see him. She said wait a minute and told me they had an opening on 02-11-2026 at 8:20am. I get there on 02-11-2026 at 8:20 and they tell me my appointment is on 02-18-2026.I was not happy about that because I knew what time and date I was told .I posted a review on Yelp about the scheduling issue only . I went in for my appointment at 8:20am this morning and Doctor Jordan comes in shaking and yelling at me to get out like a madman! I'm now trying to set up an appt to see Dr jordan again. He has usually been hard to book within a couple of days, and I can see why. He's a great doctor! I feel like the most important patient when he sees me. He listens to me, gives me his opinion, & then carefully proceeds if anything is needed on my skin. I've had a lot of time in the sun as a beach swimmer, and he tells it like it is, if he's concerned about something or not, and I feel very cared for. He's optimistically condescending. For $140, he didn't help me at all. I've been struggling for a few years now. It's not "normal". I know my skin. He acts like he knows everyone and tries to analyze them like a therapist. It's hurtful. Now I have to find someone else to help treat my dermatitis, which is now itching like crazy. Guess that's normal to ignore too. I wasn't asking for anything major (no tons of products or procedures--simple aid), and other reviews mention botox being done. Yet, I get the therapy lecture. Follow up: I tried to reach out to the front desk later to get help, explaining it's gotten worse, and warning everyone now how two faced the receptionist is. She will act nice until you ask for help. I was taken aback by her rudeness. The snappy defensiveness and gaslighting comes out all for asking questions. They claim they spent a long time diagnosing and explaining, when in reality most of it was him ranting about other dermatologists and trying to sugar coat problems with how imperfect the world is, repeatedly cutting me off for not asking the "right" questions. They don't ask "why". It's called cause and effect, but ok. I eventually just shut up or changed the subject, so he could feel all philosophical. He claimed skin marks weren't what they are, and was dismissive about my rash-like concerns that have only gotten worse now. I honestly left the office in tears cause it was an emotional whip lash. I had spent so much time trying to get a referral there too. The first person who answered didn't give me the right information, so I wasted time with a doctor appointment to get a referral just to learn they could see me after all without it. Fyi, I have the entire appointment audio recorded cause I like playing back doctor visits to write down notes for terminology, so gaslighting doesn't work. Doctors of any type should help you and not treat you like you're a burden if you stick up for your health. I'm a quiet person that avoids arguments, so I don't get what is going on in CA since Covid. People have stopped trying or having empathy. I'm done not standing up for myself and being told a false narrative. I found a kind place in Santa Barbara, at least. read more

I actually didn't get to meet Dr. Jordan because when I took my severely disabled son in for his appointment, I was told that he could not be seen because his secondary insurance is MediCal and they were no longer taking patients with that insurance. Mind you, Dr. Jordan is in network with our primary insurance through my husband's work. It's very good insurance. But because my son has MediCal as his secondary, they turned us away. They wouldn't even consider letting me pay out of pocket for anything the primary insurance didn't cover. My son is 22 years old and has had MediCal as his secondary insurance since he was a little boy. He has seen and continues to see numerous specialists, none of whom are specifically MediCal doctors. And in all these years, we have never been turned away by a doctor. Until today. In summation, I cannot recommend Dr. Jordan because any doctor who would turn away patients in need like this is a doctor that values money more than caring for people. Also, he drives a Porsche with the license plate that says "MEOOOOW," so clearly he's a douche. read more

I've read the word arrogant on several other reviews, and would have to agree that Dr. Jordan's ego precedes him. I went in for a growth on my forearm that I was sure was a wart. After giving me a lecture on the inefficacy of the Mohs procedure which didn't have anything to do with my appointment, but just made me feel terrible since I had it done a few years before on another area on my body and had a bad scar, he proceeded to tell me that I was wrong about the growth on my forearm and that (in his entire career) he had only misdiagnosed a wart ONCE. So, he treated me for something else. Fast forward three months, and go figure, my WART was back. At my follow up appointment, sure enough, he was surprised and again, let me know he had only misdiagnosed a wart one other time in his career. So, this time, he treated me for a wart. Rather than chalk this up to HIS mistake, he then charged me for ANOTHER procedure AND consequently, ANOTHER charge for the biopsy, which, indeed came back positive as a wart. I went to the office for an adjustment to the bill IN GOOD FAITH and was merely threatened with a collections agency. How many times has this office MISDIAGNOSED patients to get in another charge for an office visit from you and your insurance??!! THINK ABOUT IT! read more

When i arrived to Dr Jordan's i was seen in a timely fashion. He took the time to sit down with me and really understand what i was going through. Awesome that we both have twins! After the first apt with him i was a new person. I felt little to no pain after our treatment. I have 6 month twins and getting up every morning i was in pain. I remember dreading to shower because getting undressed was unbearable. I would cry and think when will i wake up and not be in pain. Well I'm here! I made it! I wake up happy & in no pain! Dr. Jordan is by far the best dermatologist I have seen over the last 35 years. He is experienced in what he does and truly cares about his patients' skin and well-being. He also is personal and humorous and makes your visit much more enjoyable as if you're visiting with your favorite relative. The treatments are spot on and the pricing is very fair. He corrected an improper diagnosis and treatment by another doctor which I am grateful for. I also very much appreciate his attention to detail and making sure his patients aren't left with scarring or other skin marks after his treatments. I visited this guy for an annual skin check, having had a small melanoma spot on my back 10 years ago and numerous small harmless keratoses over the years. I was referred to him by a primary care doc in my HMO, but knew nothing of him. He seemed arrogant and talked to me as though I know nothing about my own skin. I asked him to freeze a small keratosis on my nose. He wanted to remove it but without explaining that he was doing a biopsy, which was completely unnecessary when a quick squirt of nitrogen would have sufficed to freeze it as has been numerous times by other dermatologists. I asked him if the keratosis removal (never referred to a biopsy) would be covered by my Medicare plan, to which he immediately said "Yes". But he later billed me for a biopsy, which was purely over-treatment and over-billing. It appeared that he focuses mostly on botox and other cosmetic treatments that aren't covered by regular insurance. I sensed that business was slack. His waiting room was deadly quiet when I was there, and perhaps business has been down during the virus epidemic. But this should not be an excuse for him to carry out unnecessary treatments merely to generate revenue. If you need a skin check or other simple dermatology consult, do yourself a favor and avoid this guy. I have visited other much better dermatologists, but in other cities before moving to Ventura, so I am familiar with what appropriate dermatologist standards are. read more

I finally found a doctor that puts his patients first and actually cares about getting his patients well. I'm so very grateful to this man. After suffering 6 months of extreme itching, burning, tearing and bruising of my skin, 7 different doctors, 4 different diagnosis's and multiple medications to no resolve, I found Dr. Jordon. My first visit he apologized for all my suffering and vowed to find the right cure. My follow up visit was the next day, where he thoroughly examined me and ask questioned and listened to me. I have been seeing Dr. Jordan off and on for decades as my condition dictates. Recently made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. They call the day before and tell me the doctor won't see me. Some kind of note about insurance was in my account so I wouldn't be seen anymore. I explained to her that I was a cash paying patient. She actually laughed on the phone. Dr. Jordan has been handling my skincare and botox treatments for 4 years, and I feel so grateful to have him as my Dermatologist! I've had several non-melanoma skin cancers removed over the past decade on my face, scalp and body. Dr. Jordan is the first Dermatologist I've been to who thoroughly explains how to detect skin cancer so I can watch for anything potentially serious in between my appointments. He has always been willing to take the time to answer my questions and educate me (and my husband) about preventing and detecting skin cancer. I have used Dr. Jordan with excellent service and medical care. Recently, we had a problem with my insurance and the staff was unable to resolve it with the insurance company. I personally believe they did a poor job of negotiating with the insurance company. I even offered to pay the bill directly and personally resolve it with the insurance company. The Dr.'s staff refused my offer. To top that off the staff called me and treated me rudely and demanding. This is a pure case of customer service on both sides, insurance and the Dr. Staff. Was "treated" for acne by Dr. Jordan from middle school until my sophomore year in college. Dr. Jordan never spent more than 5 minutes in the room with me during my appointment and constantly just wrote prescriptions for antibiotics. Nothing worked and the lack of customer service was baffling. Thankfully, after being treated poorly by the front desk staff for too long, I found a new dermatologist who takes the time to try new topical medications and other resources. Dr Robert Jordan is not only the best dermatologist I have engaged, he is one of the best physicians I have had. I have been a patient for five years, and even after moving from Ventura to Los Angeles, I still use Dr Jordan's services. I have taken my two teens to him and they were acne-free after following the regimen he prescribed. I visit him at least biannually for skin checkups and have complete confidence in his diagnostic acumen. He is thoughtful in his examinations, clear and lucid in his explanations, sensitive to the confidences between physician and patient, and passionate in his mission to educate patients in early detection of skin cancer. So long as his practice exists, and I live in southern California, I will continue to engage him as dermatologist. To address some of the staffing questions, I can only say that entry to my appointment time is prompt and I have never had to wait for long periods of time as you often do for doctor appointments. His staff is cordial: the front desk promptly processes payment and schedules follow-ups; the administrator who takes you into the exam room and updates your files is cheerful and welcoming; and the reminder calls for upcoming appointments are always friendly. In my experience the staff is professional and efficient. If I could give more than five stars I would. Definitely a treasure and a fine, skilled, talented physician. read more

Let me start by saying that I am not a patient of Dr Jordan, however my mom has been his patient for a couple of years now and really likes the guy. However; his staff needs to get their act together. I took my mom to both of her appointments that had to be cancelled. First one was last week on a Wednesday and what do you know, doctor isn't in on Wednesdays yet they booked my mom for that day! I let it slide because they didn't have her updated contact information, and they said they tried to contact her so oh well, unfortunate. I left her new updated contact information with the male receptionist of the office. We rescheduled to today, a week later, and today when I took her in, appointment cancelled AGAIN! because they don't take covered California which is what my mom has. Now I understand provider contracts and all that and you can't do anything about it, but the way the RUDE Girl in the front desk handled the situation was unacceptable. She simply said oh we don't take this (implying "yeah bye sorry") Besides that it's just disorganization. I left my moms new contact information with them last week they should have not lost the information and contacted her about the insurance instead of making us drive all the way there again just to have the appointment cancelled again. My mom was really looking forward to seeing Dr Jordan, who I've never met, and this girl in the front desk just ruined my whole first impression. I don't want my mom to go back to them once she does get insurance that they actually take since she's actually switching next month. Their customer service is horrible. I had a mole that I was concerned about and I found Dr. Jordan online. I couldn't have been happier with the visit! First, they got me in on time (which is always impressive for a doctor) and I only waited a minute or so before Dr. Jordan showed up. Second, Dr. Jordan was so calm and reassuring. I'm sure he could tell I was anxious about things, but he explained in detail what was going on and what my choices were. He wasn't rushed at all, he just kept talking until I felt satisfied. He is very kind and knowledgeable, and I was feeling so fortunate that I found him! Third, he helped me with acne issues on my face which another doctor told me couldn't be helped anymore. Dr. Jordan was very optimistic and reassured me that more could definitely be done and he would work with me until the issue was resolved. I called to see about bringing my daughter in. The lady on the phone asks what kind of insurance I have. I state it is a PPO and name the insurance company. She said we are not contracted with them - you will have to pay up front. How much is a consult? "About $140". I try to explain that a PPO pays even if you are not contracted, it is just a lesser percentage. She said no we only take ..... How can a front office person not know how a PPO works? read more
