As a 100% permanently and totally disabled veteran, I trusted this office to complete my dental treatment after several teeth were extracted. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. After my extractions, I spent well over a year attempting to obtain VA authorization for the next phase of treatment, including implants. During that time, there was little to no progress, and I repeatedly communicated with both the VA and the dental office trying to move the process forward. When the VA later requested billing records and began asking questions about charges and treatment details, I found myself caught in the middle between the VA and the dental office. I simply relayed questions and requests from the VA in an effort to get my treatment approved and completed. Instead of helping resolve the situation, communication from the office became increasingly difficult. I was ultimately told that the office could no longer discuss the matter with me because they believed I was accusing them of fraud, which was never my intention. My only goal was to obtain clarification requested by the VA so my treatment could continue. To make matters worse, when the VA attempted to move forward with authorization, I was reportedly characterized as a non-compliant patient who was refusing treatment protocols. This was shocking given the amount of time and effort I had spent trying to get the treatment completed. At no point was my goal to avoid treatment--I was actively trying to receive it. Nearly two years later, I am still dealing with the consequences of this situation and remain without the dental work that was supposed to be completed. I cannot recommend this office based on my experience. I believe patients deserve clear communication, transparency, and a genuine effort to resolve issues when they arise. For anyone who may have questions about this review, I want to be clear that every statement I made is based on documented communications and records. I have retained the email correspondence between myself, the VA, and the dental office, including communications regarding treatment authorization, billing questions, and the reasons given for discontinuing my care. This review is not based on assumptions, speculation, or hearsay. It reflects my personal experience and is supported by written documentation. I understand that others may have had different experiences, but everything I have shared here is factual and can be substantiated by the records in my possession. My goal is simply to share my experience so that others can make informed decisions. read more

At my age appointments at the dentist offices have been a wide array of experiences. I must say Dr. Friedberg DMD has been outstanding. He made me feel comfortable and confident I was in good hands. His staff is welcoming and informative. I am a veteran and have bone loss that caused two implants to lose their grip. The VA referred me to Dr. Friedberg's office for periodontist treatment. Although the office is rather far from where I live the trip has been well worth it. I strongly recommend Dr. Friedberg. read more

Review by Marine Corps veteran I mentioned my background because I see this dentist office outside of the VA, which is my primary care physician. other veterans that have their care through the VA also visit this office. for that reason, I'm leaving this review to assist those veterans. First off the office itself and the doctors are absolutely outstanding and you will not find a better dentist. like anybody else they do get busy and between the VA sometimes it might take extra time for us veterans to see a dentist which is no fault of theirs but mostly because of the VA. we have to get the authorization from the VA to go there to get an inspection done and then they tell the VA which work needs to be done and you have to wait for the VA to authorize it. this process can take a lot of time. has a veteran you need to understand the process so that you are not upset with the dental office for it taking so long but understanding that it's the process that the VA requires. They're also is a problem with veterans getting their medication when it goes to the VA. I had three teeth pulled yesterday and had my son drive me all the way downtown to the VA because it was very important that I got the medication which was pain medication and infection medication which are both very important after having three teeth pulled. even though the documentation was sent before I even left the office, the VA pharmacy somehow could not locate the proper documentation to fulfill my prescription. this would not be the fault of the dental office, but the VA. I did call the office to get them to help me contact the VA Pharmacy to rectify the situation not just for me, but I know this happens with other veterans. so if you are a veteran reading this... this medication is something you need right away and you are going to have the same problems. do not have them send your medication prescription to the VA. have them send it to your local pharmacy and then simply pay and get the receipt and send it to the VA for reimbursement. The only explanation that you need is that the medication is required right away and the VA cannot provide the medication right away so you had to get it from a pharmacy. again, thank you too the dental office of Dr. Friedberg who literally took the time to get me on a three-way call with the VA. Love them! i'm very happy they got this problem resolved. having gone through cancer treatment recently the last thing I need to worry about is getting an infection after having teeth pulled. Every veteran here knows that the VA is a complete failure for veterans. I would believe from here on out that the dental office will now advise you to get your medication at a local pharmacy. that is the right decision. thank you to Dr. Friedberg's office for helping me resolve this issue and I will be getting my medication here in a few hours. read more

Do you have bone loss? Do you need a Periodontist?? Below is a description of my experience with receiving the BEST PERIODONTAL DISEASE TREATMENT ON THE PLANET!! I am a periodontal patient. My dentist determined about 15 years ago that I had the beginning signs of bone loss. In my opinion, if you want to keep your teeth into your later years, and if you have been been diagnosed with bone loss, dump your general dentist and seek treatment with Dr. J. Robert Friedberg. The most beautiful, compassionate, and caring group of dental health professionals, periodontist and technicians I have ever met! I hope anyone who has any amount of bone loss will seek the help of Dr. J. Robert Friedberg and Team! New patient intake was smooth and easy. They worked with me to get my much needed teeth removal and bone regeneration treatment, LANAP, financed! Over a period of many years my back four teeth lost all bone and one of them was hanging on by a thread. LANAP is a procedure that regenerates remaining bone (within limitations). Meaning: Dr. Friedberg will only perform LANAP on those teeth he believes will be successful in regenerating the bones. Without bone your teeth fall out! Hear me? Dr. Friedberg has been performing LANAP the longest (since 2007) in the State of Texas and from my research he is the highest rated. He's the MAN! His team is PROFOUND! They work in tandem like a well oiled machine! Today, Dr. performed The LANAP procedure and removal of two rear teeth that were hanging on by a thread. At my request, the team prayed with me before the procedure got underway. I am Catholic. I am a firm believer in prayer. True story. Before finding Dr. Friedberg's Office I prayed over the list of the many, many doctors listed on the internet and when I found Dr. Friedman's office I knew he and Sandra and their Team were the one's I would be placing my trust in to care for me. Post surgery: nearly no pain or throbbing, or soreness and no bleeding!! From start to finish, I was made to feel incredibly comfortable and cared. I'm a big baby especially when my family is not around to hold my hand. Sandra held my hand as I went under and when she was there holding my hand as I up I knew in my heart that there is no better Periodontal Team on the planet. I mean it when I say they ABSOLUTELY are the best periodontal, restorative and cosmetic dentist on the planet! I am never, ever, ever, ever, ever going anywhere else for the care are cleaning of my teeth!! I swear to you every bit of what I am saying is TRUE! There is not enough room on this page to tell you everything. If your dentist has told you you have bone loss stop wasting your money at the General Dentist. Stop what you're doing and book an appointment with Dr. J. Robert Friedberg & Associates, TODAY! God bless you all! read more

I am a veteran and Dr Friedman started my dental implants over a year ago and still hasn't finished it because his staff is totally incompetent and they let my VA authorization run out after one year of not completing his work and he put a collagen implant for my dental work a year ago and I have bone fragments that are still there and he has done nothing about it and he still hasn't finished the work. I'm still waiting on my implants and a bridge. He have a VA representative in his dental office that does not keep up with appointments , does not keep up with the time for the authorization, does not do the paperwork to get the Veterans paid for travel , does not order meds in advance for the V A to pay so that the veteran has to pay out-of-pocket for the medication's and when you call 's dental office and veteran, you have to use a special phone number for VA representative and you get a message saying that you're only allowed to leave one message that his office VA representative never returns the call about . The whole place is totally disorganized and run by a bunch of pimple face teenagers with apparently little or no formal training because they're cheap and hired off the street so he can make more money off the VA patients. Might as well go to the VA and get your dental work because at least you get paid for travel and you don't have to pay out-of-pocket for and at least you can get your dental work done within two years. read more

I went to another periodontist to get a price quote for a service. I decided to reach out to Dr. Friedberg's office to find out what they'd charge. It was more than double the price of the reputable periodontist that I visited the first time. Friedberg's office is severely overcharging people. Please shop around. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Dr Friedberg and his assistants. Consultations and cleaning procedures were top notch. But recently something happened to the billing office - since Nov 2016 insurance claim processing started to take months comparing to less then 1 week before. I am still waiting for reimbursement for my Nov visit (4+ months already). I called several times, the last time was today. The billing lady was quite rude and blamed my insurance company again however I knew the insurance company made several attempts to get proper documents and additional information from Dr. Friedberg's office. I am really frustrated. It seems I need to look for a new dentist. read more

I came to Dr. Friedberg's office for a 2nd opinion on gum grafting surgery and really thought I had my mind made up to go with the first periodontist that I had visited. After a wonderful consultation, I ended up going with Dr. Friedberg for the surgery. I liked how secure he made me feel by explaining everything very thoroughly and he was very honest about the procedure. The whole office staff have been a pleasure. What was a very scary procedure for me ended up being very little pain and recovery was less than a week. I strongly recommend Dr. Friedberg for anyone who needs gum grafting surgery...I had 18 teeth that had gum recession and my teeth have no more sensitivity and my gums look healthy. I'm very pleased with everything from start to finish! read more

Excellent service, very professional and caring. He took the time to discuss my issues and fully explained the procedure and his plans. In addition, he was very conscience of my fear of "dentists"; and performed his work accordingly. My implant is beautiful and goes unrecognizable. I would recommend his services and his compassion. I was initially terrified and he helped me overcome my fear of dentist!! A must. read more

Dr. Friedberg is an excellent Periodontist who looks out for the patients' best interest and will never place implants if they may fail for any reason. I was his Dental Hygienist for 2 years before I moved, and sometimes he did not allow implants to be placed due to insufficient bone in the area or the patient being a heavy smoker who was not willing to quit. He looks out for patients to not waste their money if surgeries may fail. He is definitely unselfish and not practicing for just dollars. Dr. Friedberg took any and all measures to keep patients comfortable, including the administration of both local anesthesia and sedation if the patient preferred. I did not have any dissatisfied patients when I practiced there. Plus, Ellie, his office manager, was also wonderful and caring. -Amy, RDH read more
