Sadly, I cannot give a one star review…read more At an annual cleaning appointment Dr. Davis suggested replacing my crown for cosmetic reasons and I unknowingly left for college in August 2025 with a crown that was not properly fitted. I was left alone at college with severe teeth pain, ear aches, nerve pain, and I could only chew on one side of my mouth because of the intense pain I felt day and night. I frequently visited emergency rooms and dentists in Austin with additional incurred costs, not knowing my pain came from my tooth being severely inflamed and infected due to deep decay, damage, and trauma because of my ill-fitted crown. I returned to Houston and alerted Dr. Davis and staff of my severe pain, where I immediately came to tears because of my immense pain, and he came to the solution to shave down my crown. He said that shaving my crown would help, but that I might need a root canal if the pain continued. I was not given an X-ray, which would have shown how infected and damaged the root of my tooth was. At this appointment the urgency and need of getting a root canal was severely brushed over. After visiting a new dental practice, I was told that I needed immediate care (root canal and crown replacement) because of my ill-fitted crown that could have left me with permanent damage, and even the loss of my tooth. As a young female college student, I have endured immense stress, pain, and emotions due to the lack of attention and care from Cosmetic Dentist Associates. I have lived a very difficult six months where my tooth and nerve pain were a constant stressor, when it could have been completely avoidable if I had received proper care from this dental practice in the first place. I am happy to say that I have received attentive care from a dentist in Austin and finally, six months later I am able to chew on both sides of my mouth, and not live in fear that my porcelain crown would break inside of my mouth with a dead tooth. I advise every one who comes to Cosmetic Dental Associates to advocate for themselves, as I have spent half a year of my youth in serious pain, when it could have been completely avoided or caught earlier if I was listened to.

When I scheduled, I clearly stated that we only wanted regular cleanings and was told that could be done at our 8 a.m. appointment, with instructions to arrive at 7:45. We arrived early and waited until 8 a.m. before anyone greeted us. The visit started off well the hygienist took x-rays, blood pressure, and saliva tests, which made it seem like they genuinely cared about our health. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly. After nearly an hour, we still hadn't received a cleaning. Instead, the dentist told me I needed a deep cleaning and crowns. I explained that I'd review those options later but just wanted the standard cleaning I came for, especially since my previous dentist said crowns might be needed eventually but not anytime soon. The office manager, Andrew, then came in to review treatment plans and coverage, but the conversation felt more like a sales pitch. Despite me repeating that I only wanted a basic cleaning, he continued to push the deep cleaning and crowns, ending with, "Okay, we'll just need a signature." At that point, it felt dishonest and pushy. We left without getting a cleaning and won't be returning. Patients should be told upfront if the first appointment is only a consultation and not an actual cleaning and be allowed to decide for themselves if they want additional procedures. She purposely pulled My husband's two teeth instead of one, and gave him an estimate before completing work she never did. She even purposely pulled out even an extra tooth and gave him a price including two implants just to max out his credit line. She then turned around weeks later and said it never included the two implants even though she stated everything was included in the estimate and she pulled another tooth on purpose with no permission. She is now going to be reported to the state and all county and state ethics committees, the Dentistry Boards, and being sued for pain, suffering, and illegal practices and scamming patients for unnecessary dental work without their consent and never completed to complete fraud! She is about to loose everything for being a liar, fraud, and scammer. Not to mention fraudulent business practices and being the most untrustworthy and unethical dentist in Fort Bend County, Texas. I know she will get this and if she does she better get ready to lose her Dentist license to ever practice again. #yourefundorfixthis as promised or get ready to lose everything from being sued for pain and suffering, theft of services, and will be paying all attorney fees a lost wages. I felt that the quality of care was high and attention was constantly given to my comfort. All visits were on time. I was using TRS Dental insurance for the first time, and the receptionist had a printout of all the costs that TRS paid and my responsibility. I would recommend them to anyone. The Dentist had a good personality and tried to establish rapport appropriately as did the staff.

I never had any issues like cavitaties and my visits were always preventative in nature. So why is Lathrop so special? it's the staff in both the front office and hygienists that make each stop positive, calm, and sincere. Whether you're calling over the phone or speaking to the staff in person - you're their priority. The hygenists have a light touch, are sociable without being annoying, and thorough. You never need to request a certain hygienist because they're all very capable and on par with another. I recently moved states and the team cooperated beyond belief with my new dentist to provide current x-rays and even followed up to make sure they arrived. So if I told them no, I don't wanna do anything whatever they found they would say OK and they would clean my teeth so there's really no point on taking the x-rays if I don't proceeded to go forward with whatever they would find and don't forget I don't have any problems so why are you forcing me to do x-rays because they need or want more money. It's sad because they always have excuse saying all they don't wanna lose their license or blah, blah blah, even though the contracted paperwork at the beginning that we signed saying that we can't do anything, even if they broke a tool in our mouth. It's just bothers me that these corporations use these tactics to manipulate us into spending more money in reality it doesn't benefit us. And it's sad because I love this place but once you start adding more stuff just to get money out of my pockets when I've been going here for probably 5-6 years and never had a issue. they need to listen to their clients and their patients more than whatever they're trying to push on us, because at the end of the day we were the ones that pay their bills.
