Very trustworthy. The office is always so friendly. The service I get there is top notch. Highly recommend this office read more

Patrick J McClellan, DDS - Cosmetic Dentists Near Me - Houston, Texas

I have been coming to this dental office for over 10 years and have always been so impressed by their organization, friendliness and honesty. Initially the office was for Dr. Patrick J McClellan, DDS, but he has since retired and his role assumed by Dr. Chris Johnson. The office is clean and cozy and there is never a long wait in the waiting room. The office staff and hygienists are always very friendly. They make an effort for you to be followed by the same hygienist each visit so you get to know the staff. I had a terrible experience with another dental office (a chain) which tried to force me to get an anesthetized deep clean because it had been 2 years since my last cleaning. When I declined they refused my care. I went to Dr. McClellan and he explained that it was neither indicated, nor did the other provider do the proper eval to determine if it was actually needed (he said it was not). A friend in dentistry acknowledged that up selling is unfortunately not uncommon in the big chains. Dr McClellans honestly really made me feel well cared for, and he assured me when he left that Dr. Johnson shared the same values in his care. So far this has been true and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone. Just FYI, downtown parking can be annoying. It's the perfect office if you work downtown or can take the metro rail, but because I drive I always aim for the early morning appointment to make parking easier. They open at 7am - another bonus! read more

This dentist is awesome, his staff is very friendly and they take care of me. I don't like sitting on that chair but they make it comfortable and they take your insurance. Not too mention it's in the Shell building a few blocks away from my office. read more

I love how I can get early (7:20am) appointments, so that the rest of my day can remain uninterrupted. They're always quick, gentle, and personable. I think they accept most forms of insurance as well. I took off a star because sometimes their bills are difficult to decipher. They are helpful if you bring to the in person. One just has to find the time. Also, I don't work anywhere near the tunnel, so when I walk to the Dentists' office in casual wear, I feel awfully self-conscious. But hey, that's my issue, and I can cry about it if I want to, but I should probably get back to work. read more

New dentist bought this practice. The staff are very impolite and the dental hygienist caused lots of pain. The new dentist is called Johnson and he barely checks on the patients. DON'T RECOMMEND read more

Have been going got Dr Mac for 5 years He is wonderful. Sad to hear he is retiring Jan 1, 2021 and one know his replacement Chris Johnson? read more

Great people work here. There was some insurance billing issue, but the staff handled it professionally and I did not have to bear the costs. I was happy that Dr McClellan's office made it a stress-free experience for me because I have had different experiences in the past with other doctors' offices. It's also great that they are in the tunnels and open at 7AM. For regular cleaning appointments, plan ahead of time--they get full months out. read more

I needed a cleaning and check-up, but my hours aren't really conducive to middle-of-the-day appointments. Saved by Dr. McClellan and a 7:00 a.m. appointment! I trooped through the tunnels until I got to Shell One Plaza, where I was saved by a passerby from walking around aimlessly. If you're in the tunnels and see the Patrick McClellan sign, walk up the few steps into Shell One and go to the right. Just before the escalator to the street-level floor, there's a little nook to the right - Suite 190 is right there. My hygienist was friendly, polite, and fantastic. The cleaning was great, she got tons of coffee stains off (note to self: drink less coffee), and reminded me to floss more. Yes, ma'am. Dr. McClellan was similarly friendly and professional, spent a few moments poking around, and confirmed that my teeth look great. The whole experience was efficient and warm - definitely returning in six months. read more

I love this place! My hygenist does a great job cleaning my teeth every time. They never try to get you to do "extra" treatments (which my old dentist used to try to do). They're efficient, rarely (if ever) late for appointments, and do great work. Very convenient to those in downtown. I would continue coming here even if I wasn't in downtown b/c I've come to trust their work. You have to make appointments well in advance b/c they are very popular and book up fast...probably b/c they have so many happy customers. read more

Dr. Mac and his staff are fantastic, and FAST! I work downtown, so I love that I can just go downstairs any time of day, get my cleaning, and come back to work. No driving, no wasted mornings, etc. As mentioned in other reviews, appointments are hard to come by, though, so be sure to schedule your cleaning way in advance. read more

What a friendly staff! I had to rush to this office after chipping my tooth. They were able to fit me in almost immediately. I showed up late and had a meeting less than an hour from the appointment time- needless to say I was frantic. His staff expedited my paperwork and my procedure to get me in and out as fast as possible. I can't say enough about how grateful I was! I will be back for my cleaning and check up since this first experience was so great. Unfortunately this is an office where cleanings book months in advance. Be warned if you're looking for something soon... read more

Perfect dentist's office for anyone working in downtown Houston. I've been going since I started work a year ago and have been very satisfied with my experience. Lunch time appointments are not a problem and it's very easy to get a hold of the office. I have also never had to wait in the waiting room which is nice for getting back to work on time. At my old office, you had to get there on time and then wait in the waiting room for half an hour... pretty frustrating. Meleesa has cleaned my teeth every time so far, and she is great... takes her time and good at giving you a play by play. Office is on the bottom floor on One Shell Plaza... got lost the first time I went, but the receptionist patiently gave me step by step instructions. ;) I would definitely recommend Dr. McClellan and his team to anyone looking for a dentist! read more

I love this place mainly coz I can trust Dr.Patrick. He is the first dentist who did not say that "you need to take out your wisdom teeth". My wisdom teeth have never bothered me but all my past dentists have said I need to take them out irrespective. I'm glad I never gave into it. My hygienist was great too. My husband goes here to and he highly recommended it so even though I live in the heights I took the bus downtown and it was worth it. read more

Great dentist and office. Everyone was friendly and the wait was not long at all. The dentist is very kind and personable. He thoroughly checked my teeth and x-rays. The cleaning was thorough and gentle (thank you!), and the dental hygienist was personable as well. The hygienist also gave me a great sample for a cold sore I had -it's working great. Convenient if you work downtown - you just walk in the building, walk through the elevators, turn left, go down the escalator, turn left again, and walk PAST the people's bank (some bank) and the office is right beside the bank on your right (sort of under the escalator). The people at the front desk for the building can also explain. The only thing I would mention (sort of silly, but still) is that when I first sat down, Eminem rap (angry rap) was playing as the music selection, and I thought that was slightly stressful music for a dentist office, but I think it was just on top 40 stuff, and I didn't really notice the music after that. Maybe choose a more chill or calming music? :) They book up fast, so expect to wait a few months before you can get in if you're a new patient. read more

Dr. McClellan and his staff are true professionals. I made an appoinment for an annual checkup after reading positive reviews on Yelp and had a really great experience. Here are the things I liked: - Early morning appointments (before 9am) are available. - The staff, especially my hygenist, Rosa, were courteous, professional, friendly, and informed. - I felt like they did a very thorough job with the checkup and made recommendations as to how to make my next appointment even better. Thanks for a great experience at the dentist, Dr McClellan!! read more

Irresponsible and unprofessional. Don't trust your oral health to these incompetent fools. Mouth was looked at by an actual Doctor for less than a minute. Was prescribed tobacco cessation medicine. Was told that I would only need to call to have prescription renewed. Called today to do just that as I have finished the first month and the medicine needs to be taken at least three months to be effective. Was told that the doctor, having not done so initially, has since read about the drug and realizing it may cause depression told me that he won't renew it and that I should go to my physician.... So now I must quit taking this medicine cold turkey. I'm sure that's healthy?.. Thanks guys, yeah I'll go to my VA physician in maybe 6 months when I can get an appointment. Till then I'll keep being addicted to nicotine and "depressed" because I can't quit smoking. read more

Since I work in Downtown, I chose here for regular teeth cleaning. They recommended the night guard last time and told me it's $100 after insurance payment. They took my teeth mold on that day but called me in a few days asking me to go back to take another teeth mold because the first one failed! I paid $100 on the teeth cleaning day but they sent me another bill without any explanation. They lied about the actual cost or at least didn't tell me clearly. So I'm not going back to this dentist office anymore. read more

Very nice doctor/dentist. Very good team. They tend to very busy so you might need to book some time in advance.

This practice is friendly, ethical, and efficient. I spent almost no time waiting for anybody during my appointment, which is not always the case with other dentists. Clearly ethical, Dr. McClellan told me I did not need any fillings, when another (questionable) dentist told me I needed 3. My hygienist even went as far as to retake X-rays that I provided from my previous appointment for no charge to allow Dr. McClellan to get a better look at them. I could not recommend this place more; they are booked months in advance for good reason. read more

I hate going to the dentist as much as the next guy, but I'm so grateful to have found Dr. McClellan. You may have to wait for a few days to see him, but trust me, it's worth it. I had a filling done somewhere else and it was a botched job. I went back to the same place several months later, they redid the procedure, and it didn't get any better. Out of desperation, I reached out to Dr. McClellan on recommendation, and it was the best thing I could've done for myself. He told me honestly that he needed to redo the procedure and although it was a huge bummer, I bit the bullet and went for it. My tooth healed super nicely and it's been over a year without pain or soreness! I thought my mouth was messed up forever. His techs are the sweetest, most efficient women in the business. His practice runs like a well-oiled machine, and I trust these pearly whites to no one else in Houston. Not sure if it's thanks to the quality of insurance I have, but he's never broken my bank, and I've had a few procedures done here. Thanks, Dr. McClellan for what you do. read more

Great dentist that I highly recommend and staff are friendly and helpful also.

I chipped my wisdom tooth that had cavity on Friday and although I couldn't reach doctor Patrick over the weekend but the first thing Monday morning I walked up to the clinic. The staff was friendly and understanding and explained me that everything happens via appointment but they took down my request for an urgent appointment. Within 20 mins I got a call to come down to the clinic and after 5 mins of form filling I was attended straight away. Doctor Patrick is so warm, friendly and knowledgeable. All my apprehensions regarding unnecessary procedures, expensive treatments went away within seconds. Doctor was thorough in his examination and recommendations and the staff is super efficient. They also helped me out with my insurance queries. I have a lot of dental work to be done and I know where to go! read more

Great, no-nonsense dental practice. There seem to be so many flashy dentists out there too busy trying to sell you veneers and other goofy cosmetic procedures that they forget about just taking care of your teeth. I've always had great care, reasonable prices, and felt comfortable with the folks at Dr. McClellan's. If you have an "emergency" they can squeeze you in and their scheduled appointment times are very convenient for downtown workers. Overall, doesn't get much better in my book. Thanks Dr. McClellan! read more

If you're downtown, this is THE best dentist office to go to. They have early appointments (I think as early as 7:30am) and are very efficient so you can be in and out in 30 minutes (or less) The hygenists are friendly and Dr. McClellan is wonderful. They even go above and beyond to fix little things they can. read more

I set up an appointment 3 weeks in advance. They never checked my insurance until 5 minutes before my appointment, then they told me that my plan is not covered by them. Seriously? Every dentist and doctor that I've been to checks this when the appointment is made to ensure they aren't wasting patient's time. Just be careful here if you're a new patient! They were nice about it.... but they still wasted three weeks of my time. read more

I have been a loyal patient for over 12 years. I haven't worked downtown for 8 years but could not imagine starting with a new dentist. I have had various hygienists over the years and they have all been friendly and professional. I only want to see Dr. McClellan for one minute. That means my teeth are in good condition. I have had different procedures including cavities, crowns, mouth guard, and overlays. All of them have been very positive experiences. I love the early morning appointment options. I highly recommend this dentist. read more

I've been going to Dr. McClellan for the past 15 years now. I have switched jobs, moved farther away and tried finding other replacements to no avail. I always come back to him. Every time I leave and go to a new dentist, they always have services that I 'have' to have done; some are quite pushy. Dr. McClellan, on the other hand, is very honest, he will actually tell you if the service is not needed, if that is the case. The staff is wonderful and although his office is busy, I haven't had to wait for an appointment. I highly recommend Dr. McClellan! read more

I have visited MANY dentist over the years and by far Dr. McClellan has been the best! I have been going to him for about 5 years and his work is outstanding. I work downtown and a co-worker referred me to him and now several people in my office are patients. His staff is great and I would highly recommend him. read more
