Everyone in the office is incredibly friendly, kind, and welcoming, which makes every visit a positive experience. What really stands out is how comfortable our kids feel there--they actually enjoy going to the dentist! The staff does an amazing job making children feel at ease and creating a fun, stress-free environment. Scheduling is always easy, and they're great about finding appointment times that work for our family's busy schedule. This review is long overdue. Dr. Shisler is, without question, the best pediatric dentist and…read moresurgeon in Houston. After another pediatric dentist performed an incomplete tongue-tie release on my infant daughter, Dr. Shisler carefully evaluated her and successfully corrected the issue. What impressed me most was that his entire focus was on helping my daughter gain the tongue mobility she needed to feed comfortably and effectively. He genuinely cared about improving her quality of life, not just performing a procedure. The experience from start to finish was exceptional. Ana and the entire staff were warm, patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly personable. As with most parents, we had plenty of questions, and every single one was answered with kindness and compassion. We never felt rushed and always felt supported. The improvement in my daughter's feeding and comfort has been remarkable, and I am beyond grateful for Dr. Shisler's expertise and dedication. He is the real deal--highly skilled, honest, caring, and truly committed to his patients' well-being. I recommend him wholeheartedly and have already started referring all of my friends and fellow parents to him. If you're looking for the absolute best pediatric dentist and surgeon in Houston, look no further. Dr. Shisler is simply outstanding.

She is very busy but always kind. She is also very airway focused & evaluates children for orthodontic needs early -- which is better than the standard orthodontic approach which only starts after the bones and structures are largely fixed & fused, making adjustments a lot slower and more difficult. The only downside is the cost. They aren't in network with our dental insurance (Delta Dental) and the prices of the regular dental visits are $$$$. Like almost jaw droppingly expensive. But the upside is that she caught our daughter's issues early and is doing the orthodontic treatment in-house starting at age 5 -- so things can progress well

After hearing so many horror stories regarding children who were sedated during their dental…read moreprocedures, I wasn't ready to have my four year old son go through that. My son had major tooth decay, which also affected his smile. I was worried that he'd have to undergo sedation, so my pediatrician recommended Dr. Hogan. Dr. Hogan is absolutely wonderful - after X-rays and examinations, he explained what was wrong and why he felt that sedation was necessary, although he does try to avoid that route. He went through every detail on what needed to be done and even offered different alternatives that would be more affordable. The days following my son's scheduled procedure, Dr. Hogan kept in contact with me and provided me reassurance. I was horrified at the thought of something going wrong during the sedation procedure, but Dr. Hogan patiently went through why he would never allow that to happen, let alone ever put my child in danger. On the day of the procedure, we were running late; however the office staff and Dr. Hogan were very kind and understanding. Although I was not allowed to stay with my son during his dental work, I had no problem - given that the entire staff is focused only on my son and needed to concentrate on making sure he has a healthy smile without any complications. The front office was very accommodating; they kept me updated on my son and also broke down all costs and fees to make sure I understood my charge thoroughly. The waiting room is clean and well kept with wonderful kid friendly decor. Once my son was finished, Dr. Hogan and the anesthesiologist sat down with me and answered any of my questions. Dr. Hogan also contacted me later on that evening to check up on my son. I am so incredibly grateful to have Dr. Hogan as my children's dentist. He genuinely cares for the well being of my child. If you're in need of a trustworthy dentist who cares about your child's dental health, I highly recommend Dr. Hogan.

I have held back from leaving a review for many years, but as I continue to work and spend…read morethousands on rectifying the work done, I feel responsible to do this. Eight years after walking into this office, I can look back and be certain that walking in was one if not the worst decision of my life. Teeth are precious and not only tools for chewing--they're part of an interconnected system involving digestion, posture, emotions, energy, and overall vitality. This practice doesn't focus on any of that but surely has a strong focus to sell. I worked with 3 different dentist's here; I was young and said yes to everything: frequent cleanings and all the upsell that comes with that, many fillings, crowns, 3 root canals, and even more! I thought I was being responsible. One of the main things to highlight is, absolutely ALL of the crowns were left with a margin. I learned over the years by asking questions that same day crowns are typically found in chain practices where the doctor is not the one molding and the staff is not always well equipped. This was absolutely true. I can think of a time where I removed the molding for the assistant myself(of course I did it wrong). I visited another dentist during that time who did a 3D scan. That doctor warned me of the margin on a particular tooth. I went back to this practice and Dr. Lising minded. She insisted that the crown was fine. That was on a root canal so I didn't feel discomfort, yet the crown fell off on a random day. Sadly it was too late-there was significant decay underneath and the tooth had to be shaved down significantly. Dr. Lising was not pleasant to work with during this time. As I read on many other recent reviews, I also experienced the arrogance. She laughed at my hesitation to "fix" the issue. I agreed to placing a dental post to then place a new crown. Sadly, the post caused the tooth to break and led to an infection that showed while pregnant. I had to have an extraction while pregnant and an implant months later. This costed me several thousands. On a different occasion, I complained of sensitivity on a particular tooth and was told that I needed a root canal. With what I know now, I can say that it was called too early. All I did was say that it was sensitive, that's it. Root canals are bad news and I just extracted a second one. The recovery was brutal. I have one to more to go. Another experience was an onlay that fell off 4 times before it never moved again- I don't know how that was accomplished. If I could go back, I would want my young self to read this review and be intrigued to read on functional/biological dentistry. You will find a doctor who will cost you a bit more per visit but a whole lot less over time, a Dr. that will care to save your teeth. I do not have any pleasure in leaving this review, in fact it is hard but I feel a strong need to. I have spent thousands of dollars over the last 4 years to redo all the work that I have paid for in the past! It is painful in every way and I don't wish it on anyone. If you are looking for a dentist, please be kind to yourself and look for a Dr that will care for you from a functional perspective and educate you while saving your teeth.
