I absolutely love Lifeworks Dental! I literally choose my insurance plan based on whether they're in-network or not -- that's how much I trust and value this office. They're located off the Katy Freeway near IKEA, on the south side between Wirt and Antoine. The office shares a parking lot with Memorial Tacos, a dry cleaner, and some boutique shops. The parking lot is spacious, so parking is never an issue. Inside, everything is spotless and modern. The front desk staff are always kind, competent, and welcoming. Their hygienists are amazing -- especially Shauna, who is both personable and incredibly skilled. And both Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen are outstanding. They're highly competent, never push unnecessary services, and take the time to explain everything clearly. I've been coming here for years, and they've redone a few old fillings from decades ago with excellent results. I always leave feeling confident in their work -- and with a nice little goody bag! The advice they've given me over the years has actually worked, and my dental health is better because of it. I called yesterday to receive estimated pricing on an extraction, I was whilst on the phone with the receptionist that it would be $50 for half exam and $125 for full exam. When I got to my appointment I was told that there was a misunderstanding and that it would be another $150 for the full exam I was already supposed to have gotten that same day... they said it would be another exam where this time we would do the full exam that I had specifically specified over the phone - as the receptionist had used a sales tactic called "up selling" to lead me to purchase the $125 exam as she stated it would be a FULL EXAM. I wish I had not ignored the negative reviews I previously saw on this same yelp page. They quoted me around $500+ for a filling, and $1,700 + for a crown..however my gut was telling me something was wrong when they adamantly were discouraging me from getting a FULL cleaning before these procedures (Putting a filling over bacteria would lead to the infection becoming trapped and would cause the infection to process much faster - this would lead to a root canal being necessary (would equal more profit for them if a dentist were to do this). The last thing I had mentioned may just be a suspicion, but I am 100% certain they were giving me the run around on the pricing and I will definitely not be taking that risk. read more

THEY ARE AWESOME!! I big shout out to Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen for being my hero's. Yesterday (7/21/21) at 3:00pm I had my dental emergency! Of course, I'm freaking out, and I called their office and although they had appts, they agreed to see me, at least evaluate my damage! Both Dr. Tran and Dr. Nguyen and Brianna took on the challenge!! Once evaluated, I started laughing at my situation...the only reason I was laughing is b/c I knew I was in excellent hands; I trust them and I knew I was going to be fine. They went above and beyond! We stayed way past closing time, and left extremely happy! Dr. Tran is extremely skilled, very courteous, professional and I really appreciated that he asked for my input. Lifeworks Dental is run by 2 dentists Dr. Kini Tran & Dr. Kim Nguyen. They are a dynamite couple!! Dr. Kini is my dentist but I have been treated by Dr. Nguyen as well. They are both very professional and trustworthy. The office is very clean and modern. Ladies at the front are all awesome! I am sorry I don't remember your names!! Scheduling is always easy. And they send you reminders to your emails when your appointment is near. They are very thorough to explain everything about your insurance or any questions you got for them. They are nice and kind. Dental assistants: All nice and respectful. I have had no problem with them. They work well with the dentist. Dental hygienist: Betty Betty Betty!! I've done 3 cleanings here and I like Betty to do my cleaning. I will change my appointment to make sure Betty is my hygienist to do my cleaning. She does it so clean and she is very thorough. This review is regarding my 6 year old son's visit. "I LOVE MY SILVER TOOTH! Can I get some more? I feel so awesome!" -right from the mouth of my 6 year old son My son needed to get work done on his lower right mouth. I expected him to be nervous and frightened, but instead, he wasn't worried at all. He loves Dr. Nguyen and said how he loved how gentle and nice she was. When it was time for him to be seen, the dental assistant was very welcoming and even let him choose what movie/show he wanted to watch on Netflix. What I also loved was how I was allowed to come inside as well and be able to be with him while he was getting his teeth work done. They gave him nitrous gas and were very patient. Dr. Nguyen continued to speak to him and was very supportive and reassured him that he was in good hands. She asked him how he was doing repeatedly to make sure he was relaxed and well before they began any work. Throughout the entire procedure, she was speaking to him, asking him how he was feeling and telling him how great of a patient he was. In the middle of the procedure, they took allowed him to take a break which I really liked. Dr. Tran even came by to ask how my son was doing! When Dr. Nguyen was having trouble fitting my son's crown, Dr. Tran stepped in and did such an awesome job. I guarantee you that your child is in great hands here. They don't rush, and make sure that the child is comfortable and well throughout the procedure. I love how my family and I can all be treated here. Upon entering Lifeworks Dental I knew I was in for a treat. Instead of sitting and waiting for what seems like hours on end, I was brought to the back almost immediately to an open dental chair. The dental assistants were quick to do my x-rays, friendly, and seemed very thorough in their work. From there, the dental hygienist, Tish, came in to do my cleaning and you can honestly tell that she loves her work. I think she may be the hidden gem of this facility. She was extremely meticulous and even remembered the little things that we had talked about or gone over in our last visit. I have never had a more all-encompassing dental cleaning and afterwards my teeth felt squeaky clean. Afterwards, the dentist came in to counsel me on the state of my teeth. Medical professionals can sometimes be intimidating and standoffish but they could not have been more friendly and receptive. This is where they would discuss different treatment options if needed. Finding a good dental office is almost always luck of the draw and, from my experience, I've had more bad dentists than I can count. I've been coming to Lifeworks Dental for about a year now. Have had both Dr Nguyen and Dr Tran provide services. These are the best dentists, hands down. I originally found Lifeworks Dental on Yelp, and it was all the rage. After verifying with Angelica that my insurance would be accepted, we scheduled a cleaning and checkup. Dr Tran was very considerate and explained every step of the process. As part of the checkup, he also identified any additional work that should be addressed - cavities and other repairs. The cleaning and checkup went so well I then proceeded to schedule fillings, a new cap, and molar extraction. Over the next several visits, Dr Tran patiently and painlessly took care of all of the dental procedures with the exception of the molar extraction. Dr Nguyen was the one who performed the molar extraction. Again, thoughtful attention was given to the procedure. It was not rushed, and Dr Nguyen did a great job of talking me through the process as she was taking each step. I've now begun Invisalign treatment here at Lifeworks and can't wait to see how well the results play out over the next year. The things that stand out about Lifeworks Dental are the following: - it's a family practice and they make you feel like part of the family - the Dr's explain each step of the process and Angelica explains any costs prior to starting anything - the Dr's take your comfort and dental health personally. It's not uncommon for them to go out of their way to ensure you receive the best possible service. I have been to three dentist offices in Houston and this is as good as the reviews say it is. Things which I look for in a dentist office are: cleanliness, friendliness, and reliability. The procedures I've had done were a routine cleaning and also a sensitive teeth sealant procedure. Both have been great. From the receptionist to the Doctors, everyone is friendly and responsive to my needs. They have very clean equipment and modern technology like the x-ray machines where you stand up in and go around you (really cool). One thing I wish they had which they don't is some sort of headphones or earplugs for when they use the cleaning drill. It would be nice to have that extra addition for comfort instead of hearing a loud drill in your ear. They do offer sunglasses when they work on you so you aren't staring directly into the light. They allow you to pick the music you want to listen to in the room you are in. They remind you of your appointment via text (if you want) or phone which is nice. Also, the Dr. has actually emailed me personally when recommending a sensitive toothpaste for me to give me more information on it, which was a super nice touch. Overall, out of all the dentists offices I've visited, this one is the one I will continue to visit. I feel comfortable laying back in their SUPER comfy chairs and I rarely wait more than 5-10 minutes before being taken into the back to get my work done. Most visits last about 45 minutes from the time I walk in to the time I walk out. read more

It's not easy to find a dentist that you trust. So my mom asked me to come along to her dental appointment, and I was reluctant to go because I didn't want to drive. But hey, its my mom, so I ended up going with her. What did she needed to have done? some fillings This office was in a nice shopping center sort of on the opposite side of Ikea. What I liked: The office: -This office is super nice. Its so clean that you can basically eat off any surface. All the instruments looked clean and were in sterilized bags. -The bathroom was super nice too(hey if a bathroom is clean, that means the rest of the place is clean) -Front desk was really nice and greeting both of us. They offered us a drink while I waited for my mom -Digitial xrays and big screen lcd tv were available The dentist: -Dr. Tran treated my mom and she said he was so nice. He addressed her concerns and she did not feel any pain when getting numb. She got 3 fillings that I couldn't even tell they were fillings. I spoke to him briefly just to make sure everything was okay, and his voice and demeanor was very calm which is good in a dentist! He took time to explain to me what was going on and I really appreciated that. -Dr. Tran and his staff were very nice and did not try to sell my mom on extra things, and even advised my mom to hold off and monitor certain teeth and re-evaluate them in a couple of months. Dr. Tran is absolutely wonderful! I have been to about 8 or 9 different dentists over the years and Dr. Tran is by far the best dentist I have been to. The office is very clean and up to date with the latest technology. He even took the time to educate me on what exactly he was planning to do and why he was doing it (which NEVER happens). He is also very easy with the hand. I replaced two fillings with no pain at all! I was very comfortable through the whole appointment. Not only is Dr. Tran tremendous, but his staff is as well. I've been a patient since 2015, and love Lifeworks Dental. My husband comes here, and my mom travels hours to be a patient here! Dr. Tran usually sees me, and Dr. Nguyen sees my husband. This is a true family dentistry practice. Recently, Dr. Nguyen saw my 3 year old for a cleaning and discovered she had two surface cavities. She advised us to return the following week in the morning and not to let my daughter eat the morning of the visit bc she was giving her oral sedation to repair the cavities. Dr. Nguyen spent the entire 2.5 hours with two techs to soothe and help my three year old. My daughter was very afraid and Dr. Nguyen and her assistants were extremely patient and kind. The work should have only taken 20 minutes but Dr. Nguyen went above and beyond to ensure we were fully cared for. My daughter vomits when she cries and I was so glad I was advised not to give her anything to eat before- because my daughter threw a tantrum and vomited-twice. Despite all the effort, they remained extremely supportive of my daughter and celebrated her at the end. They have an amazing prize box for kids after they are treated that make kids perk up. Personally, I always feel validated and cared for at this office, which is why I bring my family here. Dentists Tran and Nguyen do not judge your teeth or you! They only want the best for you. There are air filters that eliminate germs in every room, the office is clean and pleasant, and every person you meet at this office is extremely amazing. The dentists and staff know how to treat people of all ages, races, and backgrounds. Dr. Nguyen called later in the day to check on my daughter and make sure she was okay. I was looking for a dentist close to where I live because it was becoming inconvenient (to say the least) to travel to my childhood dentist in the burbs. I came across Lifeworks Dental a year ago and am a huge fan! They make scheduling quick and painless and have seen me on a moments notice when I had a toothache. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming from the front staff to the Dr. My first cleaning Dr. Tran did himself! He's very gentle, always gives helpful advice, seems to genuinely care, and does NOT offer things that aren't needed just to make a buck. I've never been a fan of going to the dentist growing up. Why? Because it was painful and nerve wrecking. Every time I went in for a routine check up, my gums would be bleeding from the brutal cleaning. However, I didn't have this problem when I came here. They were actually gentle, but precise. Also, they were courtesy enough to make sure I was okay and if there was any sensitivity during the cleaning. Initially, when I came in I was greeted with a warm welcome. The entire staff took the time to remember my name. It made me felt more than just another face in the crowd that typically comes to visit a dentist. The majority of my paperwork was taking care of so I didn't have to sit there filling it out. They took the time to fill it out beforehand so that all I had to do was confirm and make sure that all my personal and insurance information was correct. I've considered getting Invisalign and they took the time to explain in detail to me the procedure, how long it would take, and the cost of the process. Holy Moly, This was the most amazing experience e-v-e-r. Angelica knows what she is doing, she is the most amazing customer service rep ever! The whole office worked as a team to really fix my issues- which were very time sensitive. Dr. Tran is amazing and makes you feel really comfortable. He made tooth extraction the most pleasant it could possibly be. Even though the actual treatment was traumatizing by its nature, I walked out of there telling everyone I loved them. They are truly an outstanding team. You will not regret coming here to get your mouth messed with. Plus, the office space is super nice and clean. By far Dr. Nguyen is the best dentist I have ever seen! First the office staff is really nice and have a soothing energy to all of them and then when they handed me an IPAD to fill out my information I was thinking Thank God a doctor office that has technology finally, I have know idea how offices keep track of all the paper theses days. Then I took an X-ray standing that plays classical music it was super legit and fast. Already I knew I was in good hands. When the assistant took me to the dental chair she asked what my music choice was and turned on Pandora while she finished my remaining work, genius! Then she played a hygiene video while she was working which taught me a lot, example we should be brushing our teeth for at least 2 min. After all that, I met Dr. Nguyen who was beyond thorough and asked questions that no other dentist or doctor ever had in my life and every question she asked I had asked myself at some point in my life. Went in for a preliminary cleaning in preparation for teeth whitening using the Kor whitener (deep whitening system). I haven't found anything yet that gives me that "white". I'm hoping this will remedy that and I don't want veneers - my teeth are big enough. Dr. Kini was very helpful and gave me good tips on how to properly brush my teeth. I had a regular dentist whom I go to for years , his practice does not take my insurance but I continued go to him for the service and his expertise in the field. However, when it was time for major work done (tooth extraction, wisdoms extraction, Invisalign) I had to look for a practice that will take my insurance and at the same time live up to my expectation. I was recommended by several friends to try out Lifeworks Dental. Aside from the new technologies, clean environment, welcoming atmosphere, professional staffs which one can most expected to receive at any dental place, the main reason why I change dentist is outlined below. Dr. Nguyen is the epitome of professionalism and gentleness. Her bed side manner exceeds anything I've seen. She did not rush and coached me down to the smallest details like remember to breath since she knows how nervous I was about getting my tooth extraction. I felt nothing as the anesthesia already numbed me up but with her constant reassuring and talking me through the procedure I was finally relaxed and the next thing I know my extraction was done. As some one who also works in the medical fields, I know what set aside from good to great to exceptional. I tried three different dentists and hygienists in Houston before I was discovered Lifeworks and am very glad I finally found "the one." Their hygienist, Tish, is the best there is. She is so kind, compassionate, sympathetic and really understands what it's like to be a dental patient and adjusts her technique accordingly. I have gum recession and sensitivity so Tish is extra careful when working on my teeth and gums. She even uses a numbing agent so I won't be in as much pain which I appreciate. I see Dr. Tran who is the owner and main dentist at Lifeworks Dental and he, too, is fantastic. He has the best bedside manner and truly cares about his patients. He is very experienced but not cocky at all like some dentists. He does not rush his patients and takes the time to thoroughly explain things and answer all questions. Throughout the whole treatment process, Dr. Tran provided meticulous dental service to ensure we got the best results possible. Never once did I question his judgement and fully put my trust in his abilities. I've also gotten my teeth cleaned and a tooth extracted from Dr. Tran in the past, and he's always done a great job. I've been traumatized by dentists in the past (with painful treatment of cavities as a child) so I would always cringe at the thought of making a visit. But all of the procedures with Dr. Tran have been painless and seamless making it even a pleasure to go to my routine checkups.
