Dr. Yang at the Galleria is amazing. She does a thorough job of explaining what and why she is doing various steps. I had a difficult root canal to accomplish and she did it with skill and expertise. I wish she had done my previous four root canals over my life. What an amazing difference! Despite the fact that my referring dentist did not send any information or records to them, her office took the initiative to contact my provider and explain what was done, telling them they should call me for immediate follow up to avoid further cracking of the tooth. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place and Dr. Yang. They are just on another level when it comes to root canals with their equipment and expertise and can handle the difficult root canals that general dentists aren't equipped to do or perhaps correct a mistake of a previous dentist *cough* after you've already got a crown or already had a root canal that didn't get sealed up right or whatever other horror show you're dealing with. Honestly, I'm even debating whether I would just come here first even for a more routine root canal which hopefully I won't need because they are so precise and don't drill the holes any bigger than they need to be. Cost-wise, they ARE more expensive than your regular dentist if you're comparing apples to apples but you're really not comparing apples to apples here because all they do here is root canals and specialize in it. Having said that, I felt the price wasn't outrageous and fair given the quality of work and saving my tooth. The only room for improvement is getting the notes and referral papers back and forth from your general dentist and them. They not only did not receive the notes my dentist had sent them but they also failed to send their notes to her on that day so you might want to call and double check that they got everything before you go there and have to pretend to be a dentist- pro tip: If you want to sound smart, remember the tooth numbers and use fancy terms like "referred pain". read more

I get very nervous when going to the dentist and was apprehensive about possible endodontic work but I could not have been happier with my experience with Dr. Wan and his staff. They were all very friendly and kind. They were on time for my appointment which I appreciated. Dr. Wan was clearly quite knowlegeable and took the time to honestly explain in plain English what he saw on my x-rays. Given the situation with my tooth, he recommended that I see a gum specialist and gave me a referral. I appreciated that he didn't attempt to do unnecessary work. I hope I don't need a root canal in the future but if I do, I will absolutely come back to Contemporary Endodontics! read more

One of the best dental procedure experiences I have ever had. I was seen immediately and the check-in procedure only took a few mins. The entire office staff was very professional and knowledgeable. The office surpassed my expectations for sanitization and had several protocols in place to prevent the spread of CV-19. They provided masks and sanitizer and had state of the art air filtration system along with UV. Before the procedure took place, I was very nervous as my back molar had given me a lot of pain and thought the procedure would cause me even more pain. I had absolutely zero pain during this entire procedure and did not feel a thing - only a little pinch from the numbing medication. Dr. Wan made sure I was numbed up very well before he began. He also explained everything to me before and after my visit. His assistant was also very helpful and answered all my questions while she was getting me set up. After the procedure, Dr. Wan took the time to explain aftercare and even followed up with me the next day. I thought after the numbing meds wore off I would be in pain, but I was surprised that I had no pain (did take the Tylenol as recommended) and was finally able to chew on the left side of my mouth again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They committed "insurance fraud" and charged my insurance company for procedures that they NEVER performed.... I came here on a referral from my dentist for a root canal that was to be redone. All I can say is from my experience I spent almost $1,000 cash and they charged my insurance $1066.80 and now 2 months later, I have to have two teeth removed. They gave me pricing for an implant at almost $6,000. When they did the initial root canal I paid extra for medication that was to go inside the tooth to stop the infection as well as oral antibiotics. Two days later the temporary filling came out and the medication came out. At that time I went back here and all they did was to put the temporary filling back in they never put the medication back in place. I feel that this lack of protocol contributed to me having to lose my tooth. And after spending $1,000 in cash I was not even given an option for some type of reimbursement. Money is very tight nowadays and I will not be going here again and I will let my dentist know not to send any patients here again. Dr. Yang may have done her best at the Post Oak location, but I feel that it was lacking greatly with "infection " control, therefore I am out $1000 and will lose 30% of my chewing ability. Update: I was promised my money back or to put back on my insurance, so I could go and have 2 teeth extracted from the abscessed root canal and possible implants. So far nothing yet...but promises. While I suffer in pain with abscesses in my mouth. Update: Now I cannot get "Stephanie", Regional Manager, to call me back or take my calls. They charged me over $1000 in cash and $1066.80 to my insurance. They put charges on my insurance that they NEVER performed. This is just plain and simple FRAUD. I want to start by telling everyone that I am DEATHLY afraid of dentists. On a scale of 1-10 - I am at around 100. On Friday, I started having a really bad toothache which I knew meant I potentially needed a root canal on an already crowned tooth. I reached out to Contemporary Endodontics on a Friday evening and they scheduled me immediately for a Saturday appointment. The response time was so fast. I have had two previous root canals that were horrible. I can tell you the entire experience with Contemporary Endodontics was amazing. The Dental Assistant was the best I have ever encountered. Dr. Yuliya Salmeron was so great. I didn't know that a root canal could literally happen with no pain. They hooked me up with some nitrous and gave me some headphones to listen to music during the procedure. I am the type of person that spends the whole time in the chair gripping the chair. On Saturday, they made sure to take the time to allow me to relax and I can say I won't fear this type of procedure in the future. I will only see Dr. Salmeron at Contemporary Endodontics. I was referred to an endodontist because of a possibly complicated root canal. the office is nestled in the middle of the office buildings on ambassadors way and post oak. i was coming from westheimer, driving down post oak, busted a u at ambassadors way and turned right into the complex. i think that there is an entrance off of ambassadors way as well. they validate parking so you can pull into the gated parking lot that has bally total fitness, alontis, stewart title, etc. theres a garage near bally total fitness the building seems really new and luxurious. i got to watch a movie while i got the procedure done. is this standard now? i havent been to a dentist in so long... my root canal did not hurt at all. its been a couple of hours and im still alright...i only took one round of 800 mg ibuprofen. i liked how the lidocaine tasted like vanilla...kind of. i am extremely satisfied with my experience...thanks dr. wan! im not sure about the pricing. it probably would have been cheaper if i had gone to an aetna doctor. i know that some dentists in chinatown will only charge how much your insurance allows...but i guess you get what you pay for! read more

I went to see Dr. Rosario the same day I called for an appointment. I was starting to get more regular symptoms of pain that was focal to one particular tooth. I thank Dr. Rosario for saving my tooth. My clinical exam was sketchy but he felt my history was strong enough to proceed with a root canal. He found that my tooth had one root completely necrotic and the other root inflamed. I did not have much post procedure pain. I thank Dr. Rosario and staff for getting me in the same day and completing this procedure. I was very impressed with Dr. Rosario's skill and professional demeanor. The office is exceptionally clean. If you have to have a root canal I would go to Contemporary Endodontics in Katy and see Dr. Rosario. read more

If you need a root canal, choose this place! Ask for Dr. Koh! This was probably the best dental experience I could have. They have the latest technology to make the procedure as quick and as painless as possible. I called Contemporary on a Friday, they scheduled me for the next day consultation and they offer SAME DAY TREATMENTS!!!! Dr. Koh treated my back left molar on a Saturday afternoon. It was a very difficult procedure due to the placement and shape of the tooth, ( #18, back molar, was cracked and almost ruined to the gum and my roots were curved btw), but Dr. Koh did an excellent job and in a very TIMELY FASHION. Dr. Koh explained everything, was professional, compassionate and he was kind. And although I'm sure my treatment was stressful for him, he did a great job!!!!! The assistant was kind as well, the server was down so she put on some pandora while they worked. I recommend this place 1st to anyone who needs a root canal. read more

I had to get two root canals done and I had been avoiding going to the dentist for a quite a number of years. I have always been fearful of going to the dentist since my childhood due to some traumatic experiences. But I knew I had to get these molars fixed before I started feeling pain. I had been searching on the internet for a place that had people who would be patient with me given my fears. I found Contemporary Endodontics will searching on google and read some reviews and saw on their website that they work with people with fears. Let me just say that they treated me so great and helped me put my mind at ease. When I spoke with the receptionist Stephanie , she was very kind and welcoming. I want to give many thanks to Dr. Salmeron and Amanda who took care of me on both my root canals! I had never had one done and was super nervous and they had lots of patience with me. Amanda was so kind with me and constantly checking to see if I was fine. Dr. Salmeron had great bedside manner with me throughout the procedure. She made sure to address any concerns I had and explained what she was going to do and what I needed to do afterwards. I just sat back and listened to my music as they worked. Im deathly afraid of the dentist and anything having to do with dental offices. ESPECIALLY when it comes to root canals- Who wants a root canal? I saw Dr. Lin back in June/july 2015 for a root canal re-treatment. It was my first time at that office and I was terrified. Dr. Lin and his staff were so accommodating. Dr. Lin answered all of my crazy questions, explained everything to me in detail, and I really felt like he cared about my well being. He is a great doctor. Here I am almost two years later and I need another root canal (on a different tooth)- And of course, im going back to DR. LIN! He checked up on my previous treated tooth, to see how everything is healing, and it's perfect. Not only does Dr. Lin have a great 'bedside' manner, he also does great work. I saw Dr. Wan after a referral from Montrose Advanced Dentistry. They saw me an hour after my dentist called them! All I had to do was hop in my car and drive over and I was seen immediately. My filling from two years ago that I had gotten in Massachusetts had gotten loose and there was decay underneath it. The staff was very polite and professional, and the waiting area was very comfortable. I was in so much pain that I was unable to sort out insurance and billing but they were so patient with me (including me handing her the wrong credit card and needing a voided sale and charging another card). During the procedure, Dr. Wan's main goal was to perform the procedure without any pain. As soon as I felt anything, I was to let him know and he gave me more anesthetic. I was nervous at first, but quickly got more relaxed (especially in the second session), as I knew that I was in good hands. Hopefully, I wouldn't be needing a root canal anytime soon, but if I needed one again, I would definitely come back! read more

Contemporary Endodontics is one of a kind. The girls in the front, especially Danielle, are incredibly hard-working and intelligent. I had a rare issue with my insurance and they worked hard to resolve it before even bothering me with it. The office is clean and I felt Dr. Wan was very competent. I've had many root canals (unfortunately) but I had the least pain, if any, after Dr. Wan's work. Dr. Wan was very diligent and open in following up with my procedures. I also appreciated the nice touch of the movies to watch during services. On another note, to prevent insurance issues yourself, your best bet is to get EVERYTHING in writing and keep your documentation when dealing with any type of medical office or insurance company. In the past, I dreaded getting a root canal performed and put it off for about 3 years. Despite the fears and frustrations of having to get one. Once my insurance plan kicked in, I was referred to Dr. Wang by Floss Dental for a root canal. This place is by far one of the best business places I have seen. When you walk in, the lobby area is incredibly clean. The staff greet you with a smile, a snack and a bottled water. It did not take a long time to see the doctor and while you wait, they offer you the ability to watch DVDs. If you can afford it, the laughing gas is an experience that I am glad I was able to enjoy. I did not feel any pain during the procedure and it was performed fairly quick. Not only that, but the movie "Troy" never seemed so entertaining! Great Staff, Great Office, Great Services!!! Being an international student I had a dental discount plan and had to visit a dentist participating in the plan and thankfully dentists at Contemporary Endodonics participate and accept the plan. She was an amazing dentist who was very friendly and never made me feel any pain during the procedure.Also she gave me a concern call back to check my condition. Bookmarking this location and that's all do to Dr.Lin and the 3 girls that assisted him and the lady who charged me (I forget the name and I'm dumb for it) was amazing. The 3 ladies are Maria, she took my pulse and told me the blue print of the visit (and I am one of those ppl that has to know how things will go before hand to be comfortable), there is another lady (African-American) who's been there for 15 years, even though she popped up on me towards the beginning of the "surgery" and took me by surprise she was amazing (get those poky boo you missing out) and then there is one who had a nice young lady she is the daughter of a dentist and has a great story about her braces (for those of us who remember the beginning of teeth braces). They are amazing ! Amazing at making me feel calm and comfortable (I don't like many dentist and bounce from dentist to dentist until I find one that I like that wasn't the case here, first visit with Dr.Lin (a root canal specialist I believe) and i won't be visiting another doctor at all) Now the Doctor: Dr.Lin looks young when I saw him I thought "holy crap, he can't be much older than I am" (im 27 w/a bbyface) he pretty much just laid out the game plan for the procedure during the first visit and what he would do to make it better) and told me how the surgery would go (again I love this feature in people in general but I love this even more from a doctor) then I was puddy in this guy hand he could of told me he would need to pull 4 teeth and I would of said yes, this man knows what he is talking about when he is explaining things to you then sucks you in with his humor. Was check out by Daphne I believe her name is (if not I'm so sorry) but she checked me out and told me what I would owe. But that wasn't all after I asked how much would be covered and blah blah blah she had it all wiped up and marked and reassured me that this is what would and wouldn't be paid, again, I love this type of detail. Surgery day came paid what I had to pay and Dr.Lin used gas on me to relax me (first experience ever and it was amazing, the warm feelings you get are amazing) felt little vibrate and found myself trying to force myself to feel something because I was interested in what I was seeing the doctor do, but it didn't work I ended up giving up paying attention and just watched the movie provided to me while mid surgery crazy comfortable while I had 3 hands in my mouth. The team was amazing and even though I don't ever want another root canal (I wanna have all my teeth at 60 GOALs) if I ever need one Dr.Lin and this crew would be my go to root canal dentist. Still haven't found a dentist that I feel this way about. O Dr.Lin won't you consider being a reguLar dentist too? read more

i went to Comtemporary Endodonitsist today. i was super surprise the clinic is super tidy & clean...i mean most of the Chinese clinic is...you know what i'm saying. the luxury clinic with inexpensive cost, what else do you expect. My teeth was crack, that's the reason i went there. Dr. Lin suggest to clean the teeth first to see if the root canal treatment is needed, if not, he would just do the filling. Unfortunately, my cavity is too serious, and had to have root canal. Believe me, it's the last thing i want to do, base on my experience. Root canal treatment is a disaster, but Dr. Lin is very professional and kind, and I almost feel nothing and didn't hurt at at. Fantastic, painless and fast! My 12 year old daughter unfortunately inherited some weak teeth and had to have partial root canals. I was worried because she (although I love her) is my drama queen- her pain tolerance is severely low. I searched high and low and found Dr. Wan. I can't say enough! The practice is tucked hidden near the Galleria area and although it's small, it's clean and the staff is kind and professional. Everyone was super pleasant and patient. Dr. James Lin made sure both mommy and the patient had all questions answered and that we felt comfortable. I'm telling you.... I heard horror stories of how painful the procedure would be - both during and after. I was very concerned about my daughter. I kid you not! She didn't once cry or squeal! Dr Lin made sure she new everything he was doing, step by step and she never flinched. After she was swollen a bit, which is to be expected but NO pain! Dr Terrany preformed my Root Canal. She and her assistant were very through and pleasant during the procedure. The office also provided free movies to watch during the procedure, which i found to be a plus. The Nitrous Oxide really helped me relax. Everyone in the office was friendly and knowledgeable, from the front desk receptionist to my dentist, Dr. Delgado. I came in for an assessment after falling and chipping three teeth. Parking was open and I was seen in a timely fashion. Dr. Delgado suggested I have three root canals, and was able to do them the same day. I was able to watch a movie during the procedure so time flew by. Afterwards, they went over aftercare with me and she even called to check on me the next evening! Within an hour or two of calling this office, Dr. David Wan and his staff fit me into their busy December Friday morning schedule to work on an inflamed, painful, old, outdated root canal and gums around the tooth. After a painful and sleepless night, Dr. Wan seeing me so soon was greatly appreciated for a first-time patient. Dr. Wan's surgery to remove the outdated fillings and antibiotic treatment healed the inflamed areas over the Christmas holiday. A follow-up surgery visit today to complete the root canal was necessary. Now everything looks good and healed so that I can return to my regular general dentist. Dr. Wan and staff are professional and fixed the problem. Dr. Wan also explained the surgical procedures during our visit. The pricing is fair and competitive in the Houston area. It was one price that included today's follow-up visit. Dr. Wan's friendly staff also is helpful in working with your dental plan. Staff is friendly, nicely-appointed offices, and yes, movies are offered. But that's not why I'm writing this review. Dr. Lin, after a thorough exam and xrays, told me I do NOT need a root canal and we are exploring other (lesser) possibilities for my pain. I am unfortunately a very experienced patient with teeth that are always in some crisis or another, and I can tell you I have never been told by a dentist or a specialist that the most expensive route is not the one I must follow immediately. Never. I recommend this doctor because he's honest and open-minded, kind and a good listener. He spent fifteen minutes just talking. I like to think the whole suite of doctors follow the same honesty-is-the-best-policy. Thank you Dr. Lin, for restoring a bit of my tattered faith in mankind. read more
